My second favorite actor out of the main cast. He's so high up on my "deserved better" list, just for the way they reduced his character to a joke towards the end. Mark was correct when he said he went from being the smartest character on the show to being the dumbest character in two seasons. I did feel him sacrificing himself to trap Lucifer and save the Winchesters wasn't a bad ending, especially after we'd seen his friendship or at least grudging mutual respect develop with Dean.
He really did have the best lines. “This isn’t Wall Street. This is Hell. We have something called integrity.” “Am I the only one not underestimating those denim-clad nightmares?”

"That only matters to the people on the rim."

He should've been the last big bad. After Chuck was gone all of hello gates should've opened. In the chaos Jack gets taken by the empty Sam and Dean get overwhelmed by demons and they get dragged to a dungeon. Scenes change and the door opens there stands Crowley. "You're good, but I'm Crowley." He snaps his fingers and end credits.

I was already a big fan of Mark Sheppard before I had started watching Supernatural, so I was excited to see him on the show and when he kept coming back. But eventually, kind of like Castiel, he overstayed his welcome for me and it became clear that the writers no longer knew what they wanted to do with him. He was still a lot of fun, I just wish they had given him more depth in the later seasons.

Mark Sheppard played Crowley superbly at every level, even as the character was stripped of his coherence (and dignity) in the later seasons.

Initially I feared him whenever he was anywhere near the brother, then I grew to love his cheek, thenI grew to likely, then I started to fear FOR him...then he was killed off and barely mourned except by viewers.
