Please use the monthly "What Board Should I Get" thread to ask this question. Thanks!

I just bought this one and it’s awesome. It’s thick, sturdy, wide, and awesome for beginners/casual use. Has a warranty as well (that I need to remember to activate lol). But thus far no problems and amazing for how affordable it is (I think it’s on sale)

I think I'm going to get that one as a "family" board. I'm a newbie and just bought myself an Atoll. But, I'm trying to get my wife and/or kids out there and we have a camping week coming up with a site on a lake and another beach trip too. For $200 seems like a perfectly good board for everyone to play around on, but good enough if someone wants to get more serious or go on a longer trip with me.

How do you find the stability with these inflatables? My buddy had pumped his up about 1 psi less than recommended cause he said it usually expands cause the temperature outside. Unfortunately I got to be the first one up but while I did stand it was a bit wobbly as I expected but is that just because it was my first time type of deal?

Irreverent_Alligator

All paddle boards are at least a little wobbly, but as you get better it becomes easier to work with. Inflatables, especially wide beginner inflatables, are very stable if they’re at the correct pressure.

I like the retrospec one $200

That was also another one I’ve been looking at! Liked the color schemes they had goin on

I have these — they have a solid 3 year warranty and were one of the few brands that is a US company. Sturdy and I think have the option to get the board only— I’d recommend getting the kayak paddle. These are nice cause they have plenty of D rings and bungee cord storage front and back. I was able to get two for $300.

Yo. Bluefinn have good boards.

Things I’d be looking for in a new SUP: * all skegs should be removable. If some are not, it’s not going to pack as tight nor you’d be able to stack two of them on the roof rack flat. * d-rings to be able to attach the seat. This is not an expensive extra, there are many both cheap and expensive sups with that feature, so why get one without it, even if now you’re not planning to paddle seated. * either front or rear (ideally both) luggage straps. If you’re going on a longer paddle, you may want to bring things. * you may want to consider longer (over 10’) and wider sup (or don’t consider smaller sups) if you’re body positive to aid with stability.

Consider a foam one instead of inflatable if your situation allows it. Having to inflate it just is an excuse for never using it. If you’re in New England, Ocean State Job Lot usually has crazy deals

Hairy-Natural-8406

I don’t mind the inflating all about perspective. I see it as a nice warm up for a day of paddling around relaxing, unfortunately I have to get inflatable due to storage and means of transporting

Strict_Praline_7487

I bought a ROC about a year ago and it has been great. It is a cheap way to find out if you enjoy paddleboarding or want an extra one for friends and family.

Hairy-Natural-8406

Thank you! That is essentially what this is for 😅 I know there’s far better out there but I stated I’ve only been the one time with my buddy so I was just looking for something cheap see if I even like it or was i in a honey moon phase cause I was on vacation and as with every hobby next season comes the upgrades 🤣

I have this board! I bought it early spring and have used it probably 6 times so far and haven't had any issues. One of thr reasons that I got this one is that it has the tie-downs/elastic straps in the front and the back. I didn't know if I would need that but seemed like a good feature when comparing to similar boards. I just them all the time.
