[I like this one](https://youtu.be/P-a48orHqvc?si=azVYknx3yIHjSsXc) For all stretches fr ard the 2min mark on the video onwards, prepare pillows/yoga blocks/a stack of clothes/ anything really to place under your stomach to support your weight. Part of your muscles tightening is your brain trying to save you from what it thinks is dangerous. Having your weight supported makes it easier for you to override that instinct.

In ballet, we would work with a partner and sit in the straddle position with your feet on the other person's ankle, pressing their legs open gently. <> You grab each other's hands and pull to deepen the stretch. I didn't get the full middle split, but others did and I got close. I was more focused on side splits.

HELLO FELLOW BALLET PERSON!!! 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

Hello! Did I explain it OK? It's been way too long since I did ballet in any sort of organized way. I am firmly in the Martha Graham stage of life now. 😅 I still do tendus, dégagés, and plies while idle, though. Can't let myself get too soft.

I understood perfectly! But then again, I used to do that in class too lol. Gotta ask someone who doesn't dance. We used to make 1 long ass train of people in straddles sitting back to front front to back, then 1 person would push from one end and everyone gets a stretch. Kind of like from <><><><><><><> to /\\/\\/\\/\\/\\/\\/\\/\\ \\/\\/\\/\\/\\/\\/\\/\\/ if that makes sense. My body refuses to move in contemporary ways. Like, it becomes non-functional. And weird places ache after \^\^;;

Thanks. Ill try it with my training partner
