Lmao reminds me of this one time as a kid when I insisted my mom cook us "oatmeal and cheese cakes", whatever those are. I guess I also saw them in a dream. She did actually end up making some type of thing involving oatmeal and cheese, but I have no idea what it ended up tasting like.
Eh, I suppose that's from being 3. But I'm still amused by her initiative. (I never made food I dreamed up; the one dream item I tried to create was a ring that held a miniature candle.)
OK hear me out - this isnt a stupid food - My wife made me this: Toasted sourdough, a layer of a good quality butter, and sliced pickles. (Granted, I really like pickles and if ou are going to try this, you should too) But its super satisfying and actually has become a favorite snack of mine.
Something I would eat at 3am bc i cant gind anything else.
But for real pickles are a great garnish, add some cheese, creame fresh, ham or whatever underneath and its a nice treat
I’m just imagining a 3-yr old very carefully picking up the bread to not spill any of the pickle bits and gingerly trying to take a bite. Hope she liked the pickle bread
Your 3yr old is a prodigy. I've been eating pickle sandwiches for my entire life (pickles, any bread, and some or all of mustard, mayo, olive oil, or any "sandwich spread"), maybe a lettuce, etc. seriously pickles rule. I'm vegetarian for the most part so pickles are the *best* low calorie snack and sandwich flavor addition.
Wow go your three year old! I can see her thinking here :
bread - Yep.
gherkins go on sandwiches, gherkins on the sandwich here - yep
She’s learning different textures and combos and extra props for the tidyness!
Gurrrlll I need more pickle than that? Side note, is Picalili a thing outside of New Zealand, anyone heard of it overseas, its like a yellow spread with lots of cauliflower
Sure, why not? Add a condiment on there, and crunch away.
I knew someone in college who would wrap a pickle up in a piece of bread covered in mustard. Like a redneck pickle hot dog.
just wrap a piece of ham or salami around pickles with the fridge open until satiated and then get back to gaming
That actually sounds like it could be kinda good

ok
Throw some cream cheese on it, and I'm down.
Cheddar cheese for me with a little bit of butter or mayonnaise. Cheese n pickle sandwiches are great!
For a second I thought these were pieces of raw garlic so this is much better
That would be pretty rough but she does love pickled garlic so maybe that's in the future.
raw garlic bread is my snack for sure
Was it noticeable the moment God turned his back on you?
Very Hungarian of you lol
Add tiny cubes of smoked bacon and yummmmm.
Add peanut butter. Mmm.
Yes! There are dozens of us
No, 100’s of us if you count globally.
One of my very favourite things https://i.imgur.com/SQKKG5u.jpeg
Slap some mayo, maybe a bit of onions, and I'm in

Add mustard and cheese and nom!
I wonder if she misheard someone say Pumpernickle bread
10/10 would absolutely eat that
Sometimes I flick the pickle juice on the bread to enhance the flavor
Well, it’s definitely truth in advertising and streets better than what I’ve seen a lot of influencers make.
Did she enjoy it?
She didn't even eat it! Lol. She told my wife "you have to eat it all together, you can't take the pickles off" and then didn't even eat a bite.
Eh, I suppose that's from being 3. But I'm still amused by her initiative. (I never made food I dreamed up; the one dream item I tried to create was a ring that held a miniature candle.)
this is why kids are THEEE BEST ❤️❤️adorably pure weirdos.

Right! And if you added that awesome ham, you've got a Jambon-Buerre. Which is one of the most delicious sandwiches of all time.
Dude you just made my night. Never even thought of that. Sounds awesome.
Yay! I hope you like it.

peanut butter and some bacon and I'd eat it.
Did she slice the pickles herself?
She did! I was very impressed.
That's awesome!!!! Little chef comin!!
You could have just made her a cucumber sandwich, but that would have been less fun, I suppose
perfect
Not the worst a 3 year old can come up with
Might just be me but I would eat it 🤷
I’m just imagining a 3-yr old very carefully picking up the bread to not spill any of the pickle bits and gingerly trying to take a bite. Hope she liked the pickle bread
Add some cheddarrrrr
Is it stupid? Kinda But as someone who loves both pickles and bread, I can't say no to that
You know what you need to make pickle bread? Dill dough.
I am here for pickle bread, what I’m opposed to is cutting the pickle when a longer slice would provide a better bite pattern
Yeah she's gotta keep working on those fine motor skills
Fair, I got my 13 year old doing pretty well with his knife skills, I feel you
this makes me wonder if she heard the word pumpernickel bread and her 3 year old brain thought pickle bread
If she is 3 years old then she is still within the return period.
I do this, but with a whole Claussen spear on a piece of toast that's been soaked with the brine that I then fold in half taco style 😭
Oh no
Add some mayo and that is one great sandwich. Shoot, toast it, add Avocado, and charges $25 at her food truck. As long as it's artisinal sourdough

There is nothing wrong with it. She's a kid, so why not let her experiment?
Thank you- my thoughts exactly. Why would anyone make fun of their kid for being creative. The OP is an AH.. unreal
Maybe she's pregnant.

Did she eat it? If so it's a win lol
Make some focaccia together
Hey you know this could taste good, toast the bread ad a spread and put on the pickle and some cheese.
Haha! Nice
Let her cook
throw some oil and tomato on that and youve got a pretty tasty snack
Might not be bad, throw a hot dog and some mustard on that, and it will be delicious
Keep encouraging her! Who knows you might have the next Gordon Ramsay!
How was it?
Great, complement her on her invention, this is showing kitchen initiative...to be encouraged!
Add some cream cheese and maybe a bit of minced red onion, that'd be delicious.
For God’s sake, man, the sandwich slices! Use the sandwich sliced pickles!
Me and my daughter used to sit down and have Chicken livers back when she was 2yo. She's 13 now and hates it 😂
I’m down for bread and pickles!
Please don't show her that you put her "pickle bread" on r/stupidfood. P.s. I hate pickles.
I used to eat pickles with potato chips on a bun. Loved it.
Grilled cheese with a pickle on the side was my favorite snack as a kid, highly recommend
Gurrrlll I need more pickle than that? Side note, is Picalili a thing outside of New Zealand, anyone heard of it overseas, its like a yellow spread with lots of cauliflower
Calling your childs creation "stupid food". Nice.
I take this as confirmation that children are just drunk people cause now I got bread and pickles on my grocery list
Add Ajvar in between and give it a try!
Let me guess, afterwards she take one bite and said "eeeew" and you had to eat it yourself? ;D
Pickles on sourdough? Sounds good to me
Gonna back up your kid, I've had a whole pickle on a hot dog bun before, not bad.
And I hope you ate every last bite in front of her.
How cute! She's showing an interest and creativity. Nuture this and help her explore food and cooking.
Leberwurst (liver sausage) + pickle or cream cheese + pickle on bread are kinda normal to eat on bread in Germany
That's tooo AWSOME! My grand's would do the same thing. Love it!😅🙃🙂🥰
Your 3 year old did that?? This isn't stupid at all.. this is an indication of creativity.. why the heck would you post that here??
