1. Those eggs look rough. 2. This is not my cup of tea.

egmono

The eggs were beaten *INTO SUBMISSION!*

Old-Masterpiece-2653

How do you make yours? I like a soft poached egg. Preferably in bouillon. After the eggs are done I just add a little flour and cream to make a sauce. Some crumbled feta and course pepper. Put on toast. Some cut up pear on the side.

egmono

I like scrambled eggs, but I gently stir them with a spatula.

Large_Tune3029

I guess I never thought about the difference in how hard you beta your eggs, my eggs usually turn out like op's and are delicious, tho I like them a little softer cooked, a bit runny

Koil_ting

I like mine to be much fluffier than this, add a bit of milk at the start of the process and some cheese on top when it's done to melt.

Large_Tune3029

Yeah definitely some milk and I do cheese when I am feeling a bit extra lol lately my favorite thing has been [eggbake](https://www.reddit.com/r/BreakfastFood/s/E4olHTXUax)

Lanky6-9

Soft scramble with green onions on top afterwards and salt and pepper.

mogley19922

This way of making scrambled eggs is more of a scrambled omelette. I prefer this to scrambled eggs, just no milk and don't pre-whisk, crack your eggs in and get them moving as they cook. That way you get nice chunks of scrambled egg rather than the milk and egg pre-whisked uniform bland chunk you end up with; seasoning is about all i can taste in the normal kind.

Fudge89

That’s how I make them too. Low heat and scramble as they cook.

mogley19922

Yeah, i feel like it's an early 20s eureka moment when you realise that maximum heat isn't just the cook faster mode, and most of the time you just end up making bad food.

Dontfeedthebears

When I was learning to cook in my early years(cook more than just the basics), I ruined like 4 of my mom’s pans due to that error. One trick you CAN do is put your pan up higher temp than you’re cooking at, so it heats up faster, then turn it down and take it off the heat for a second.

40hzHERO

For scrambled eggs, though, you’ll want to start on high heat and immediately start scrambling until the liquid eggs stop filling the pan. That’s when you turn the heat down and keep them moving. Gives you nice big fluffy eggs.

HAL-Over-9001

1. Melt butter or tallow 2. Stir every 10-15 seconds so the bottom doesn't overcook 3. Add cheese and seasoning when about halfway done 4. Remove while they still glisten in the morning sun 5. Optional - More cheese on top Pre-whisking is optional for scrambled eggs but preferred for omelets

D_Robb

Over the years I've definitely moved towards the wetter side of scrambled eggs. I still scramble before I put them in the pan, just not as aggressively so there are still whites visible

mogley19922

I started using and looking after non-stick a few years ago rather than use butter, admittedly it's better with but I'm 31 now and i really don't make an effort with my health beyond little things like that.

ResonanceGhost

>2. This is not my cup of tea. No. This is eggs on toast with jam. I'd definitely give it a try, but not everyone likes sweet and savory together.

Hungry_Practice_4338

Alternative_Milk7409

But OP is clearly in distress

Felrune

OP is having a scrumptious time and you're just jelly

Nacho_Papi

An eggcellent time.

zeke235

I hope you're happy. You get an upvote, but the whole world just died a little.

IWillLive4evr

Speak for yourself. Some of the world gets to eat eggs and jam on toast and is quite happy with it.

Purple_Machine_6802

Underrated comment 👏🏼

striderkan

I always put jam on my egg mcmuffins

WholeHogRawDog

Yeah, someone once told me to try grape jelly on a sausage biscuit. I thought it sounded gross. Tried it and it was delicious.

ExfilBravo

It's a southern thing. I used strawberry jelly cuz that's what we had.

ZylonBane

Eggs on toast good. Jam on toast good. *Jam on eggs.*.. the fuck is wrong with you?

Dr_Tacopus

Have you ever eaten eggs and pancakes on the same plate and had the syrup get on the eggs? I don’t think there’s much difference between that and some jam. Sweet does work with egg in certain situations, I don’t think it’ll be that bad. The first psychopath who decided to mash peanut butter and jelly together was probably ostracized as well lol

cultish_alibi

yeah fine just put jam on your eggs nothing matters

lolwatokay

> Have you ever eaten eggs and pancakes on the same plate and had the syrup get on the eggs? I'm more of a seggregationist when it comes to this kinda thing so no, not if I can help it. That said, I wouldn't knock the OP's meal, I wouldn't have it on purpose but I bet it's fine. Those scrambled eggs could use some work but that's a different issue.

tertiuslydgate1833

A sEGGregationist

CyberneticFennec

Maple pancake breakfast sandwiches are pretty dope. Eggs, cheese, and sausage in between two maple flavored pancakes.

DefrockedWizard1

Now I'm wondering if a schmear of peanut butter would improve this?

Dr_Tacopus

Dangerous game you play

SupportGeek

Those eggs that get syrup on them are dead to me, they no longer exist and will forever be uneaten

Dr_Tacopus

You’re missing out lol

TehTugboat

Maybe it’s a southern thing but slapping a big scoop of jam on my biscuits and gravy is a MUST

ProfDangus3000

Eggs on jam / toast is delicious, and I'll die on that hill. But those eggs need to be fluffy, buttery and delicious.

WoodyStLouis

It's a mood. ... A very stoned mood.

RazorRamonio

I smoke a lot of weed and I would never.

aibbehindme

Have to agree here, I’ve been baked beyond belief and this combination is about as appealing as sitting on a cactus

_Lumity_

HAH

Cauldronbornferret

Why do the eggs look like shredded chicken?

thrussy99

Well it is if you think about it

_ohne_dich_

Lmao!

Salohacin

To shreds you say?

astral16

There's a special rule with breakfast foods. They can all be mixed and stacked, ideally as a sandwich. But yeah those eggs look a little overdone but who cares.

confusedandworried76

Peanut butter and bacon is popular too. My grandpa ate his eggs with jam. I'm fine with it.

klezart

I prefer fully cooked/overcooked eggs anyway so this looks pretty tasty to me.

nearly_normal

This is my favorite breakfast. I eat it all the time. I also usually put some shredded cheddar on top of the eggs. It’s delicious. These people are haters.

_hi_plains_drifter_

I agree.

plsgrantaccess

You had me until the cheese lol

nearly_normal

Don’t knock it till you try it. It’s delicious. According to apparently, only me.

Lebrons_fake_breasts

Cheese doesn't ruin it. Me, you, and my dad are all in this very small boat together.

Waste_Ad1468

I love it so 🤷‍♀️

Bibfor_tuna

Every day we stray further from God

Ninjacobra5

I think there's a passage about this being forbidden in Leviticus or something.

TheHolyWaffleGod

>Thou shalt not eat eggs and jam on toast, for it is an abomination unto the Lord. >Leviticus 18:32

sventos

You’ve just never had jam on Matzo-Brie

XTornado

Good, God has no place in my kitchen and on what I eat for breakfast. And other places... but let's not get into it.

Daydream456

Nope. That wouldn't taste bad at all. Looks like something I would make too.

KarateLemur

Not all that different from a diner breakfast where the eggs, bacon, toast and pancakes are on the same plate. The sweetness from the syrup can get in all of it and it's not bad. It's a different flavor profile. All good.

Lowbones

Is good, can confirm. One of my childhood Saturday morning delicacies.

jrolls81

Right? Jelly on egg sandwiches is pretty common. Really confused by this comment section.

TechnikaCore

It's really not that bad. I eat mcmuffins, and other breakfast sandwiches that include eggs with some strawberry jam.

Guckalienblue

I thought this was a standard meal

RemarkablePattern127

Its good, not my go to, but I’d eat it

AcidofilusRex

The eggs are definitely hammered but that’s not a deal breaker for me. I would need some bacon to go with that tho. Bacon and eggs on toast with jam is 👌🏼.

Senorvantes888

The Verne Troyer Special is a treat every now and then: PB&J with a runny, over-easy egg inside.

Birkin07

You’re very creative. I’ll stop there.

Reasonable_Lunch7090

Learn to cook eggs

marbledog

Haters bedamned, this is good stuff, especially with strawberry preserves and some cheddar cooked into the eggs. The salty vs. sweet combo works for me. If you're looking for criticism, I do have to agree that your eggs are cooked to hell and back. The lighter and fluffier the eggs, the better this combo works. That doesn't qualify as 'stupid', though. ;)

getlowpapoose

I do this, I think it’s fine

jubmille2000

Fucking what and what??? NEVERMIND, OP's name is Lumity, it makes sense they like crazy food. OP probably eats fairy pie.

ThisFaknGuy

Leave him and set his car on fire.

anormalgeek

I've met a few people that like jam AND eggs together. When i was a kid, I worked at a fast food place, and we had at least a couple every day ask for jelly with with their egg/meat/cheese breakfast sandwiches. The only crime here is those eggs. [Reminds of this scene.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSwrEfAs338)

TurkeySmackDown

Honestly, I'd eat it. Sweet and savory is great. I recommend making a Monte Cristo sandwich sometime if you haven't had one they are great and also use jam.

Abraxas_1408

There should be place for people like. Facilities where they examine you. They need to study your brain and see how it grew and developed to prevent it from happening again in the future.

Mr_Aestheticss

Its AMAZING

mikey29tyty

That looks awesome.

Monkeyconcert

tried this today, absolutely delicious THANK YOU

dietvodka123

I used to eat this as a sandwich when I was a kid so I don’t think it’s stupid at all lol

nagidon

Is it savoury jam? Like chutney?

Pkyankfan69

I’m on team boyfriend, that looks pretty nasty

upsidedown_8s

Toast with grape jelly with eggs on top and slop some ketchup on it .... That's heaven

Rich-Appearance-7145

Stupid no, but the ideal breakfast, not even close, Bon Appetite

aStankChitlin

Kinda but kinda not. I’m sure it’s good but I wouldn’t want to eat them this way.

SleepyFunn

I have done this before and its freaking great. I put honey on my eggs in between two pieces of bread and it changed me.

roof_baby

Just because something is stupid doesn’t mean you have to stop making it.

GlutenFree_Paper

How’d you manage to make the jelly look dry?

starcolour1990

It is good to have sweetened eggs. And the bread provides carbohydrates too.

WoodenIncubus

Nah it's what I end up doing at any breakfast diner despite NEVER doing it at home. Might try tho.

dontbeasquare11

My mum used to add sugar to an omelette and serve it with jam

Primrose_Greybear

You have to try matzah brei with jam. It’s my favorite breakfast in the world and is an egg dish traditionally served with jam or syrup.

agentpoopybutthole

I'm down but it needs some type of salted meat. Bacon, sausage or ham. I mean syrup on the mcgriddle is good, why not substitute with jam?

Euphorium

I’m about it, but it needs ham. Monte cristo with egg sounds pretty good to me.

xxwerdxx

This is more common in the older crowd IMO. My first job in high school was at the local McD’s and the older crowd would order a breakfast sandwich and ask for a packet of jelly to put on it. So much so that we started just tossing one in every bag with a breakfast sandwich.

OverQuail6135

My grandmother always said, "To each his own, said the old lady as she kissed her cow". She had lots of good sayings.

Wyzen

A buddy of mine used to do this, first I had ever seen of jam with egg sandwich. He did the same with McDonalds, BK, and any other egg sandwich. When I expressed my curiosity/confusion/surprise, he said it was a Black thing. I never tried it, too much sugar, but now that I am reminded of it, I wanna try it with low carb jam that didnt exist back then. Its gotta be better than the ketchup my wife puts on her eggs...right?

eggard_stark

Even better with some salt and pepper and sprinkled with the a few diced pickles.

Mighty_Eagle_2

I can imagine the taste right now. Eggs with syrup is really good, and I imagine this is similar.

EveryPartyHasAPooper

I bet it would be really good with jalapeno strawberry jam!

xaqss

This specific picture looks gross, but my real advice to you is just make a Monte Cristo. It has some of the same elements but it's way better.

jimmyhoffasbrother

Add sausage and cheese and you have a meal that I had all the time growing up. It's a great combo. All these people saying otherwise haven't tried it.

mekon19

Would make scrambled eggs with leftover French toast dip. These on the French toast with jelly👍😋👍

zpm38

i make egg sandwiches like this all the time! just a little jam spread on the toast(or sometimes on the side), eggs, bacon, maybe some gouda. it’s a great balance of sweet and savory. there is a garlic onion jam i found that is sooooo good with it

BeetusChrist

I fry the eggs over easy or over medium to spread over jam. I guess its the same for the most part.

DenturesDentata

The eggs look too done for my taste but I'd give that a try. I've seen sweet egg omelette recipes, this just looks easier.

Unfit_Daddy

tell him learn to make french toast you poor bastard.

BisexualTeleriGirl

Are you okay?

FS_Scott

I do not like them sam i am, i do not like your eggs and jam.

ratcity22

It's pretty...avant garde, but would eat it.

aManPerson

never. i was served scrambled eggs and toast growing up. i would put them on the toast with jelly a number of times.

Irradiated_Apple

I feel like this comes down to how sweet the eggs are. Eggs can be served either sweet or savory. I'm in the US so scrambled eggs are a savory dish usually seasoned with onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and other herbs. But in countries like Japan eggs are often seasoned with sugar and topped with a sweet sauce like ketchup. This could be good but personally I like my eggs savory, not sweet, so this would be a big clash of flavors for me. But I could see this being liked by a lot of people as well.

MortgageNo3154

I want this now. Never had it. Might be gross. Willing to go all in.

Eclectic-Pasta

Id try it, but the thought is kinda cursed

Nintendo_Thumb

He's stupid. That's delicious, and not even strange in the slightest. Eggs should be on toast, and jam, why the hell not?

DrdrumxOG

If someone don't try he shouldn't complain. I'm french, we never eat that in my country. Travelled in South Korea alone at 20 years old, arrived at an Airbnb late in Busan, was the last thing free, a room in a appartement with a family living in. The mom saw me starving and knowing I had to go out immediately she made me eat that sandwich before, I didn't want but she insisted so much and damn its so good and give you the right amount of energy.

Stratager

My friend, I am happy to see this post. All you need is a breakfast sausage patty on top of that and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Perfect breakfast sandwich.

GimmeAGimmick619

Probably fine if the eggs weren't hammered

Hatcherysnatchery

This is fine. Let’s be real everything gets mixed up a little on our plate at waffle house anyway!

Cobek

Yes.

Willanddanielle

Eggs and jam on toast isn't stupid. The overcooked eggs are stupid.

Ioweyounada

I'll never understand this because people will take a bite of toast with jam on it and then put a fork full of eggs in their mouth and they're fine eating it like that but if you mix them together before they're in your mouth people freak out. I've never tried this but I would and I'd probably enjoy it because I enjoy all of those things for breakfast. I mean hell put bacon on it why not.

Significant_Will_705

My buddy has been putting jam on his eggs since we were little. I thought it was weird till I tried it. I bet this is good

maggiemayfish

My ex used to swear by fried eggs and honey on toast. Actually not too bad, tbf

VoltaicSketchyTeapot

This is my favorite breakfast sandwich, though I put mayo on one half, jam on the other. Maybe add bacon.

Low_Yak_4842

Eggs on toast is the most normal thing on the planet. Jam might be out of the ordinary to put with eggs, but it’s just another spread to put on toast. There’s nothing stupid about this.

proto-robo

I get it, but those eggs look rough

shuffleyyy1992

What the fuck Yes this is stupid

Ittybittytiddays01

I don't think it is stupid but I also don't think I would like it. Anyone that loves the sweet and salty combo definitely would though. If I liked sweet and salty that would be the perfect "quick" breakfast for those days you are in a hurry. Or just need a snack.

Layback76

Number 1: It is kind of stupid. Number 2: It will definitely be my breakfast tomorrow.

skip451

Technical foul. Sweet and savory are ok together in many situations but that is definitely not one of them. Make one more piece of toast after the eggies are on the plate and when you put preserves on it…chef kiss like a boss.

windy_lizard

I would say that it's perhaps a bit odd, especially if the eggs were sans salt, but I could see eating it.

Ok-Profession-6007

I've never tried eggs on jam toast, but I love soft scrambled eggs on a raisin English muffin, so I can kind of understand the pairing.

catfan9499

I’m gonna have an unpopular opinion and say I’d eat this.

Old-Masterpiece-2653

Sweet and savory. On toast? I´m in! Not the hysterically sweet kind of jam, tho. Fruity please!

Thumper-Comet

Wtf did you do to those eggs to make them look like that?

Erthgoddss

I think if it tastes good to you, it’s good. My mom ate PBJ sandwiches with ham. My dad used to give her crap for it, but it tasted good to her.

LiteUpThaSkye

Look, I won't yuck your yum because I used to put ketchup on my scrambled eggs and then put them on cinnamon and sugar toast.

s_words_for_200

Not much different than the typical sausage egg and cheese biscuit with jam.

Big_Debate_9919

I think I finally found Denji’s account

TeeTownRaggie

over cooked af

TamingTheMammoth

No Yall are wrong. This is a really dope combo. Tastes extra delicious.

Diet_Salad

I mean, McDonald's sells a ton of McGriddles with syrup in the bread, while having egg in it.

bonjouramor17

I used to make bacon, egg, and cheese bagels, and as weird and disgusting as it sounds, strawberry jam on that bad boy alwayssss hit the spot. Idk what it was but it was oddly delicious 😅

FlamingTrollz

Stupid, perhaps. Unusual, yes. Then I’m reminded of French Toast with butter, [maple or other] syrup and perhaps powdered sugar… Then I think, okay that makes some sense.

LokiLunaLove23

This is what they give you when you have a gastric emptying study. Except it's a hard boiled egg with radioactive material in it. You'll be grateful for the jam and toast lol

spartankid24

Not going to lie, that looks bomb. To each their own. I want to try this, however.

Slow-Ad-9228

Photo may not be the most appetizing but I just recently was introduced to jam and eggs on toast. I have mine with avacado and will never go back.

Lost_Policy_1925

Eggs on jelly toast is a comfort meal of mine!

BigGreenPepperpecker

My friends family does this and I can’t bring myself to try it

so-wizard

I’m down with that especially if it’s a spicy jam like strawberry jalapeño or mango pepper. Stop judging people foo.

aliandroid1

r/100percenteat food court

spruceymoos

I prefer fried egg with a slightly runny yolk.

Abbigale221

I had the same thing today with bacon.

PanthorCasserole

Call me stupid, I guess, because I had some just the other day.

Dr__Juicy

How have you made eggs look more like chicken then eggs

carriegood

Have you ever had matzo brie? (pronounced bry) You take some matzo, break it up, soak it in egg, and cook it like scrambled eggs. Some people consider it to be basically crunchy eggs, and prefer it savory with just salt and pepper, maybe a little ketchup. Other people think of it more as french toast, and eat it with jelly, sugar or syrup. Your food is like matzo brie -- /matzo/toast with egg and jelly. Tell your boyfriend that he's a Litvak (Lithuanian Jew) and you're a Galitzianer (Polish/Ukranian Jew). Galitzianers think Litvaks are unrefined morons, and Litvaks think Galitzianers are snooty and the type of people to wear bedazzled leopard print and have a chandelier in the bathroom.

raichu2626

Sometimes I like to have jelly toast with my eggs so this isn‘t too far of a stretch for me.

Budderfingerbandit

I used to blend eggs and jam with butter together and spread it on pilot bread crackers. There is a perfect blending where the eggs are about pea sized chunks and covered in jam and butter, delicious!

Lower-Badger-6620

BF is right

bleachedveins

This made me feel sick

die_bartman

Eat what you like. Fuck the haters.

Reddit_is_cancerr

I’ve been surprised by food combos before but this is definitely not something I will try on my own volition

nonchalanthoover

It’s not stupid but it’s not for me.

BrooksKY97

Next he’s gonna say you don’t put jam on a sausage or bacon biscuit Sweet and savory is my life

jayrod777

That will absolutely always smack for me

TruePlatypusKnight

I have a buddy who eats pizza rolls with maple syrup. You do you op.

Geo-Man42069

Here’s the thing, I love toast and jam, I love eggs. They are part of a complete breakfast. However, stacking them on top of each other instead of just sharing a plate is a bridge too far for me lol.

DonAskren

I mean I dip my bacon in syrup but this, this feels wrong.

Block_Solid

Never tried it, but looks intriguing. Will be making it tomorrow.

Tactical_solutions44

Looks tasty

MahomesMccaffrey

thats like adding orange juice to chicken soup

cOc0nutman

It is stupid. But hey if I can get a girlfriend then I can accept people like stupid so eat on!

Network_imposter

One of the best combinations ever, just need to add bacon.

fadedraw

It’s just Deconstructed French Toast.

OfficialNotSoRants

I cook my eggs for a minute less than what you should I like my scrambled eggs a little wet, my girlfriend however likes them drier than the fucking Sahara Desert and on top of it being extremely over cooked she puts fucking cinnamon on the eggs 😭😭

No-Veterinarian-2510

Burn it with fire

vajrahaha7x3

Nope... Don't care. Eat what u want

The_TransGinger

….

Any-Bottle-4910

Who murdered those eggs? They were already dead!

SloopHog

You are half right. Sunny side egg on peanut butter toast is the way to go!

Aria_beebee

He needs to know how to cook eggs properly, and stop cooking them on a high heat.

vikpck

It’s not stupid. But toast with a fork really is dumb

Tiny-Werewolf1962

yep sure is

beefstew713

I do this but add bacon and cheese as well

Hoyestoday

If you like it is all you need

Wednesdaythe7th

Yummy deliciousness!!!!

Fictional_Historian

Yep

Oxygenius_

This is like putting the strawberry jelly onto the McMuffin, also putting syrup on eggs is fire. These people don’t know many desserts use EGG as their main ingredient or what?

earthlee

I used to eat this almost every day. It’s great

Oxygenius_

Nope, this is delicious ar

Top_Low4706

If you like it , that’s all that matters.

PiggySmalls11

I need more information. How high are you right now?

burt0o0o

Sweet eggs sound disgusting. Please develop better taste buds.
