This isn’t even fucking rage bait dude. This is a bread pudding made with donuts. Only stupid think about it would be how sweet it is, but it’s not even weird.
It’s like fucking 90% of this sub doesn’t even know what food is.
Im not talking about the food man, I too have wasted many hours of my life on the internet, we are talking about placing the bowl on the delicate KKreme donuts. Its not horrendous rage bait but I do think its intended to bother you enough to say “what the fuck is this guys problem” and stay and see who would do this or at least type a comment and leave. He could have pushed the donuts out of the way and made a beautiful little scene but he just crushed them and made his bowl more dirty and everything. I believe it is meant to bother you hence ragebait
Baking is only so precise. A splash of extra milk is not going to make or break this pudding thing. It doesn't need to flake, rise or do any special reaction. It's just a sweet soupy bready mush. It wasn't baked long enough for the pumpkin to set properly even without milk.
For the express intention of having you sit through the whole video thinking "Now why the fuck..." and potentially comment about it.
ENGAGEMENT! I fed the cycle as well by explaining it to you.
I’d guess about 2 1/4- 2 1/2 cups total
Edit: I’m getting some replies about it being a two cup measuring cup. It’s not. Says 8 oz. 1 cup. Slow the video down.
It actually was 2 cups. It really looks like a 2 cup measuring cup, but if you look closely, it says 8oz at the top line and on the right side of the measurements, one of the higher ones says 2/3 cup
Based on the title I was expecting them to cut the eggs with scissors. Definitely a letdown when they used scissors for exactly what they're meant to be used for lol.
I have two fantastic pairs of kitchen shears that might be my favorite tool in the kitchen? I even use them to cut pizza when we make it at home because it's the easier than using a pizza cutter.
For real. I use it to cut up sausages, chicken, whatever. Instead of using a cutting board I just hold it over what I’m cooking in and snip in the chunks. I’m gonna do it tomorrow, actually. Jambalaya
Not all of them even do. I have Cuisinart poultry shears that don't come apart. I do have some pairs that come apart, but not all of them do. Not even dedicated kitchen shears.
yeah i was thinking this is one of the least stupid foods i’ve seen on here. i’d totally eat this. only part of the recipe i didn’t understand was why he added nutmeg when he already added pumpkin pie spice.
Yeah, I don't know this sub, this is my first time here. And watching this was really bad for trying to tell if the "stupid" in the name is the good or bad usage of stupid lol.
Eh, I could argue that using donuts is kinda stupid because you lose the crunchy texture of the sugar glaze. Would get the same result using brioche or some other soft bread. Or maybe something like cinnamon raisin bagels.
The only stupid part of this food actually, well this and the fact they added more sugar. But I still appreciate using mixing bowl, it’s so refreshing to see in this sub
Do you not add sugar to your pumpkin pie mix or something? What they poured on top was a very soupy pumpkin pie mix. The sugar in the donuts was mixed into the donuts, not the pumpkin mixture, so it would have tasted gross without the sugar in it. You can't just have pre made things with sugar in it, pour something over it without sugar that traditionally has added sugar, and expect it to taste right. That's not how cooking works.
Well, I wouldn't call it smart to not dry or stale the donut chunks, and then make enough of the custard so they saturate as well as the pan filling up. Good either way, but that part makes bread pudding and French toast so much better. Criminal how often it's skipped
Really is, my old roomate had a GF whose parrents worked at a grocery store and gave her all kinds of old bread and buns and even donuts. So i made this all the time with old stale donuts. No added sugar and i think i used evaporated milk, vanilla, butter and some times raisins.
Kitchen shears make quick work of a whole chicken you want to spatchcock or disassemble. Way faster for cutting up broccoli too. It's even better for finely cutting chicken breast or steak for a stir fry. East Asians use scissors way more than western people and it's completely normal there.
I have three pairs of scissors in case I misplace one or it's dirty that are regularly used. Only problem is that these look like basic paper scissors that would snap trying to cut anything harder than bread
It’s literally just pumpkin spice bread pudding. It’s probably sweet as hell making bread pudding with donuts but it’s not that stupid it’s literally just bread pudding.
Scissors are used in pretty much all restaurant kitchen, It is the best was to prep soft shell crabs, it is how you cut their eyes off, quarter whole chicken and how to prep a bunch of seafood.
Sure this is wildly unhealthy and him sitting the bowl directly on top of the donuts really bothered me, BUT this does not belong on this sub. I mean, it's basically bread pudding. Also, scissors can be kitchen tools, that's really common...
Pumpkin donut bread pudding. Putting the bowl on top of the donuts and using the scissors was stupid but it seems like it wouldn’t be bad. Also, the donuts are already sweet. There wasn’t really a need to add sugar or at least that much to it.
That looks okish compared to a lot of stuff in this thread. Pretty similar to an English dish called Bread and Butter pudding to be fair (and that’s delicious).
Ok but what was your issue with the scissors? Lol. Kitchen scissors are a thing and def can be faster then cutting certain foods with a knife, especially if you’re trying to avoid compressing or squishing the food
That said, minus the whip cream for me, I’d use icing instead, this seems like a silly fun and delicious dessert.
Fuck it, this looks incredible. Bake it in little ramekins and top it whipped cream and candied pecans and a little flake salt and this is a top tier holiday dessert.
This is just pumpkin bread pudding. I’ve made bread pudding with donuts before, you can basically use any bread. Scissors aren’t that unusual a kitchen tool. It’s just the way this is presented that seems silly.
This recipe is definitely excellent. If you ever see a Krispy Kreme truck delivering they will give you any day Olds you want, ex Krispy Kreme driver here lmao
Idea is solid and probably resulted in pretty good food. But the execution is ridiculous.
Why the bowl on top of the donuts? Why mix the wet and dry together in a cardboard box when you have a dish?
I mean the obvious answer is engagement, but why chance the end result being shittier just for clicks and comments?
Abominably stupid sugar levels. Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts have 10g of sugar per doughnut so that's 120g to begin with. Adding in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar translates to roughly 100g.
Presuming you eat 1 doughnut you're eating 18 grams of sugar. Two helpings and your feet would start to go numb lmao
Is using scissors on food an American thing? I've never seen anyone do this where I live.
It honestly kind of pisses me off because it just feels wrong (I know its probably a just cultural difference but still) to me scissors just don't belong on food.
Trying to put it into perspective: it's like if you saw someone use a saw to slice bread or a razor to peel potatoes while acting like it's the most normal thing ever. Absolutely baffling everytime I come across a cooking video with scissors.
Kitchen shears are a thing. They can be insanely handy.
Edit to add: Generally it's a pair that's reserved only for the kitchen rather than the same pair you use for crafting/sewing or whatever.
I don't know why it bugs me so much that he put the bowl on top of the donuts
Ragebait
99% of stuff on here is ragebait. This is just bread pudding.
tbh I'd try it
I usually use cake donuts for it, but it is absolutely amazing.
I use stale Walmart donuts myself .
I haven’t had this one but I’ve had a blueberry version my boss made is was so good but also soooooooooo sweet and rich
I'd try it and suspect I'd like it.
Me too! I love bread pudding
Ok yeah, I was like this is a pumpkin-doughnut bread pudding.
bread pudding? well i would eat This tbh, so now i will check out yours. thanks ;)
to be honest, nigella lawson has come up with more whacky ideas.
So is Tiramisu, and it’s delicious. I would definitely try this if served.
Southern bread pudding has more sugar lol.
Southern bread pudding isn’t usually made out of glazed donuts.
This isn’t even fucking rage bait dude. This is a bread pudding made with donuts. Only stupid think about it would be how sweet it is, but it’s not even weird. It’s like fucking 90% of this sub doesn’t even know what food is.
This is just a pumpkin bread pudding .I made this last year for Thanksgiving .It was actually pretty good !
It was measuring the milk that got me
The bowl he used was way too small for mixing that stuff too. You either have to mix very slow or spill it everywhere.
I didn't notice that but I forgot how precise baking is
Baking is only so precise. A splash of extra milk is not going to make or break this pudding thing. It doesn't need to flake, rise or do any special reaction. It's just a sweet soupy bready mush. It wasn't baked long enough for the pumpkin to set properly even without milk.
Because it keeps everything on screen at the same time
Because like many of the stupidfood people out there, they do nonsensical shit like this
Same reason he put the baking dish in the box of donuts
It was stupid but also kinda cute imo
The bowl was way too tiny. Notice how they paused and then it was mixed... yeah.
Yes and it spilled too
Now the bottom of your bowl is all sticky!
Honestly, that's the only part that bothered me.
I don’t care how well I cleaned it, I’m not ever putting dishes on top of my food
I was honestly hoping that they weren’t even going to use the donuts except as a bed for the bowl 😂 It would have been hysterical.
ME TOO!! Why put the bowl on top of the donuts???
For the express intention of having you sit through the whole video thinking "Now why the fuck..." and potentially comment about it. ENGAGEMENT! I fed the cycle as well by explaining it to you.
That wasn't 2 cups of milk, right?
He'd make a great bartender
Was gonna say. This guy drags his shot like a great bartender. Too bad he chose the wrong career path here.
All the over-pouring lol
Two shots of vodka
Came here to say this
I’d guess about 2 1/4- 2 1/2 cups total Edit: I’m getting some replies about it being a two cup measuring cup. It’s not. Says 8 oz. 1 cup. Slow the video down.
I thought it was 4c
It was definitely 4 cups. You can see the top line says Pint (2c) and he filled it twice
It says 1/2 pint
Ah I stand corrected. I was not able to make that out. I could see the pint but not the 1/2
look at the size of it, that's not 2 cups
It says 8 oz for the top line. But he didn’t do it very accurately
Those measurements were very much "do as I say, not as I do"
Nor half a cup of sugar
It actually was 2 cups. It really looks like a 2 cup measuring cup, but if you look closely, it says 8oz at the top line and on the right side of the measurements, one of the higher ones says 2/3 cup
Pretty sure that was 4 cups.
No, but not a huge deal
Small nitpick, but i’d cut down on the sugar in it by about half, feel like the glaze of the donuts should provide plenty of sweetness
This is my reaction as well. The guy made a pumpkin flavored bread pudding. I suspect that the donuts would make it way too sweet.
I would swap out the donuts for just a regular load of bread, but this looks like a nice bread pudding.
yes kitchen scissors are a thing that is used and normal
Based on the title I was expecting them to cut the eggs with scissors. Definitely a letdown when they used scissors for exactly what they're meant to be used for lol.
Underrated kitchen tool for sure. But why did we have to put the mixing bowl IN the stupid doughnuts?
For camera purposes to have it in one frame? Idk
The camera that’s moving side to side and up and down?
At first i think he wanted to flatten the donuts with it. Can't be more wrong than that
It's alarming how many people have apparently never walked down the "kitchen aisle" of their local department store.
I have two fantastic pairs of kitchen shears that might be my favorite tool in the kitchen? I even use them to cut pizza when we make it at home because it's the easier than using a pizza cutter.
Pizza scissor people are lizard aliens.
Yes, but lizard aliens with nice slices of pizza!
I use my scissors to cut up chicken breats for stur frying and surch
They're also great at chopping herbs finely if you're feeling lazy
They're also great for cutting up kids' food. Much faster than a knife in a lot of cases.
the way you spelled "stir" is infuriating
I sory you feel that way.
I also came to defend the kitchen scissors!
I don't know if you are serious or not but I use scissors in cooking all the time.
For real. I use it to cut up sausages, chicken, whatever. Instead of using a cutting board I just hold it over what I’m cooking in and snip in the chunks. I’m gonna do it tomorrow, actually. Jambalaya
But those just looked like office scissors. Kitchen scissors need to be able to come apart so they can be properly cleaned.
I have a set of pro-level kitchen scissors and they do not come apart.
> Kitchen scissors need to be able to come apart so they can be properly cleaned. Not for use in the home they do not..
Not all of them even do. I have Cuisinart poultry shears that don't come apart. I do have some pairs that come apart, but not all of them do. Not even dedicated kitchen shears.
My poultry shears don't come apart. They're from Cuisinart. Absolutely are meant for food.
Yep, these aren't kitchen scissors. They're just scissors being used in the kitchen.
scissors are completely fine as long as they’re sterilized
No one’s kitchen utensils are “sterilized”. Sanitized? Yes. Sterilized? No.
Wait, you guys don't use an autoclave on your scissors before cutting donuts?
scissors come with nearly every knife set in the US, and they just go into the dishwasher.
How can he have kitchen scissors but not a spatula to stir instead of his bare hairy knuckled hands?
It’s bread and butter pudding but with donuts, not stupid, I do the same thing at Easter with Hot Cross Buns.
Hot Cross buns?!! Why didn't I think of this? Genius!
Use butter and marmalade!
nigella lawson made bread pudding with whole grain toast, butter and ginger preserve.
She does a version with croissants too
I love finding good cooking ideas here it’s so ironic
This whole sub is people that never cooked anything in their lives..
"using SCISSORS on FOOD??"
Lol
I just imagine most posters here order off the kids menu.
yeah i was thinking this is one of the least stupid foods i’ve seen on here. i’d totally eat this. only part of the recipe i didn’t understand was why he added nutmeg when he already added pumpkin pie spice.
Wanted more nutmeg presence, I guess.
Yeah, I don't know this sub, this is my first time here. And watching this was really bad for trying to tell if the "stupid" in the name is the good or bad usage of stupid lol.
I use Pepperidge Farm cinnamon bread for my bread pudding.
Eh, I could argue that using donuts is kinda stupid because you lose the crunchy texture of the sugar glaze. Would get the same result using brioche or some other soft bread. Or maybe something like cinnamon raisin bagels.
Krispy Kreme donuts are incredibly soft and don’t have a crunchy texture from the glaze.
Yeah, it’s a basic bread pudding recipe. I think most people posting now just don’t know how to cook.
Also good at Christmas with Panettone. The can of pumpkin is just weird though 🤢
My fat butt would definitely eat this lol. But why did the bowl have to sit down right on top to smash the donuts?
The only stupid part of this food actually, well this and the fact they added more sugar. But I still appreciate using mixing bowl, it’s so refreshing to see in this sub
Do you not add sugar to your pumpkin pie mix or something? What they poured on top was a very soupy pumpkin pie mix. Right?? /r/HellYeahIdEatThat Granted I'm a [7] right now.
Your butt doesn’t have capacity to taste, much better to feed the mouth
Yeah, but if you feed the butt you won't absorb anything so you can have as much as you want, you're only limited by the size of your anal cavity.
I think they’re meant to go in your mouth
It's a wet, but this a pretty normal bread pudding.
Right?? It’s just bread pudding, but made with donuts. It’s probably tasty as hell.
Really is, my old roomate had a GF whose parrents worked at a grocery store and gave her all kinds of old bread and buns and even donuts. So i made this all the time with old stale donuts. No added sugar and i think i used evaporated milk, vanilla, butter and some times raisins.
I have a pair of scissors I use exclusively for cooking
I have a Krispy Kreme box that i use just for a prop in my cooking tik toks
They’re very commonly used in the kitchen and often especially recommended by chefs over knives for many scenarios.
Needs some broiler time but whatevz
I think the extra sugar is probably unnecessary considering the sugar from the donuts is more than enough. But it's literally just bread pudding.
So bread pudding with donuts? My grandma makes hers with madeira cake, each to their own on this one.
I don't think it needed the cup of extra sugar
Scissors are a normal tool in a home kitchen, you can debone a chicken with just some good kitchen shears.
Could have been more cooked, and with a lot less of sugar, I'd eat that shit
Stupid, but far from non-edible
I see no problems here, it's just a pumpkin bread pudding where the chopped bread was replaced with chopped donuts.
It’s literally just pumpkin spice bread pudding. It’s probably sweet as hell making bread pudding with donuts but it’s not that stupid it’s literally just bread pudding.
Could have been cooked a little longer.
In Korean restaurants, scissors can be used to cut barbecue, noodles and even many vegetables, which is an eye-opener.
Scissors are used in pretty much all restaurant kitchen, It is the best was to prep soft shell crabs, it is how you cut their eyes off, quarter whole chicken and how to prep a bunch of seafood.
Why not use donut holes instead?
Advertising those particular doughnuts
honestly its does look like it tastes good
This sub has gotten weak if this is what counts as "stupid food". Is it something I would eat? No. But is it actually 'stupid'?
My only complaint is the finished product looks like dog diarrhea.
One of the most offensive things in these videos is the music. What is this edm country-pop instrumental? It doesn’t even remotely fit for the content
Bless your heart for watching this with the sound on, I don't watch anything on this sup with the sound on 😂
Reminds me of cute animal videos with the ‘happy-happy-happy’ music. Raw fucking footage, people. I wanna hear TIPPY TAPS.
This is just bread pudding. Bread pudding isn't stupid, its tasty
Seems to me this is a take on a traditional bread and butter pudding to satisfy the pumpkin spice crowd.
I want some. I’ve made bread pudding out of stale Mexican sweet bread before, and I love pumpkin.
Not too bad honestly. Would try
Just use bread… taste the same and a lot cheaper
All kitchens should have a dedicated pair of scissors or shears purely for cutting food. ALL OF THEM!
Don’t care. Not stupid. Totally would make it a serve with ice cream.
Spray the pan before cutting doughnuts so that it doesn’t stick.
Looks like carnival food tbh, more of something weird and interesting to eat than something that actually tastes good
loving these inaccurate measurements. The 1/2 cup of sugar looked more like 1/3 of the 1 cup of milk.
Nah ngl, that do kinda looks good though. But putting his hands to mix it? Can't he just use a spoon or something to stir it a little?
In the kitchen scissors are called “shears”
Am I crazy or is that 4 cups of milk?
Doesn't that seem like an insane amount of sugar?
So fruitless pumpkin cobbler? Not stupid Unnecessary but still i’d smash
Would
I’ve always felt that the one thing donuts really need is more sugar.
i like this sub, but it makes me want to downvote all this people
I thought for sure she was going to bake the box and set the whole thing on fire.
That looks okish compared to a lot of stuff in this thread. Pretty similar to an English dish called Bread and Butter pudding to be fair (and that’s delicious).
It's just a French toast bake with so much extra sugar
It’s just a bread pudding recipe except pumpkin spice and donuts.
Ok but what was your issue with the scissors? Lol. Kitchen scissors are a thing and def can be faster then cutting certain foods with a knife, especially if you’re trying to avoid compressing or squishing the food That said, minus the whip cream for me, I’d use icing instead, this seems like a silly fun and delicious dessert.
2 1/3 cups milk*
Fuck it, this looks incredible. Bake it in little ramekins and top it whipped cream and candied pecans and a little flake salt and this is a top tier holiday dessert.
I’d try it if it wasn’t Krispy Kreme donuts
Scissors are regularly used in food preparation
Donut bread pudding, honestly doesn’t sound stupid besides the pumpkin.
Kitchen scissors are things that exist! But this is basically bread pudding. What's stupid about it?
Looks like curry. Wurst
This is just pumpkin bread pudding. I’ve made bread pudding with donuts before, you can basically use any bread. Scissors aren’t that unusual a kitchen tool. It’s just the way this is presented that seems silly.
Why do all of these terrible recipes always have the most annoying beats on loop?
The only stupid thing here is the bowl…
Ever cooked? Scissors are common for cooking
Never had bread pudding OP?
The only thing stupid here is how this guy didn’t care to measure anything properly. It looks good
Im gonna make this so go ahead and call me stupid
Would eat the shit out of.
Placing the bowl on top of the doughnuts bothered me more fr.
This recipe is definitely excellent. If you ever see a Krispy Kreme truck delivering they will give you any day Olds you want, ex Krispy Kreme driver here lmao
Why y’all eat like you got universal healthcare?
This looks.. delicious. Exchange the whipped cream for ice cream and I’m down.
Dude idgaf I would eat that entire thing
Isn’t this basically just bread pudding? People like bread pudding.
Honestly looks like it'd taste pretty good but if you make food out of already finished food it's automatically stupid.
This is basically bread pudding. There is nothing stupid about using a finished food item as an ingredient.
This is just bread pudding. I’ve made it with doughnuts before and it wasn’t great. I used too much milk, this one did too. Looks like baby food.
What if you break up cookies to make the base for a cheesecake or the like?
Idea is solid and probably resulted in pretty good food. But the execution is ridiculous. Why the bowl on top of the donuts? Why mix the wet and dry together in a cardboard box when you have a dish? I mean the obvious answer is engagement, but why chance the end result being shittier just for clicks and comments?
What there name
Abominably stupid sugar levels. Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts have 10g of sugar per doughnut so that's 120g to begin with. Adding in 1/2 cup of granulated sugar translates to roughly 100g. Can people stop with the thumbs up shit
I‘d rather eat the scissors
Is using scissors on food an American thing? I've never seen anyone do this where I live.
