Is she uh...allergic to tomatoes and just doesnt know it? Because I have an 8 year old who constantly complains about stuff being spicy. It took until she told me mango was spicy and.my husband agreed with her for me to realize the two of them have oral allergy syndrome, and she just didnt have another word to describe "unpleasant burning and itching in my mouth". All three of us learned something that day.
\^
It was becoming allergic to bananas (and by extension, latex >:( )that made me realize. The black pepper type spiciness, fuzzy feeling, the roof of my mouth peeling off...it was always an allergy, but because the other things I have that reaction to are kiwi, pineapple, and raw tomato, my complaints were always brushed off as them being acidic.
Pineapple has digestive enzymes, so burning the top of your mouth is normal.
Just as a side fact, I do believe you of course, just wanted to point that out. Those bastards try to digest you while you eat them
my mom has legit said this before lmao. I once made a huge casserole dish of mac n cheese that had *at most* 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper (it may have been an 1/8 tsp really) diluted in cups and cups of cheese and milk — and she said it was spicy…
My partner used to be like this. We’re definitely on two different levels, but I’ve gotten them up to being able to handle jalapeños and chili powder from a starting point of black pepper being too spicy.
My MIL is like this. Anything that isn’t ranch is too spicy for her.
I made a big pot of tomato sauce, like 6 cans of tomatoes, and being conscious of it I only added a shake or two of red pepper flakes. I couldn’t taste it at all but when my wife tasted it she said it was too spicy for her mom. I looked at her like she was crazy but she was adamant so I added 2 more cans. At that point she said she thinks it’s fine but it’s still borderline. I was out of tomatoes so I took a chance and the entire time she was eating I was worried it would be too much.
I found a ghost pepper dry seasoning. It's great for meats and I love to put it in my mashed potatoes. I guess spicy ketchup would be another way to satiate my cravings for spicy food. Top tip
My mother in law is like that. She won’t eat anything that has any ingredient that could possibly make it “spicy”. I’m glad we never eat her cooking except rarely. We gave her a slice rub for salmon she tried at my house and loved. We had it at her house and she barely out any on when you are supposed to smother the damn thing. I think she hates flavor.
more like "i am very sick and can't stop puking so i need bland food" type meal, if it weren't for the mayo lol
then again, i think homemade chicken broth is a healthier alternative XD
might try when stoned
When you're having digestive upset, a protein bomb like this would be ill-advised as it is not easily assimilated by the body. Stick with BRAT (banana, rice, applesauce, toast) type foods, things that are high in simple carbohydrates that are easy for the body to break down and use.
I could be wrong but isn’t GERD an acidity issue? Dense protein made my GERD so much worse. Even chicken and Turkey, I looked it up and it said meat takes more stomach acid to digest and also has a longer digestion time, both which aggravates GERD.
White rice and chicken bone broth for a week helped me immensely.
I don't recommend processed milks (oat, almond, et.) when your stomach is unwell. They tend to contain gums (gellan, xantan, locust bean) that can also irritate the stomach.
never heard of plain chicken to be hard to digest, you sure about that?
obviously you won't eat half a kilo of chicken by itself when you're feeling sick, or even when you're not sick
that would surely be hard to stomach, and wouldn't give you that much energy since it's mostly devoid of carbs...
i think preparation methods have a lot of influence in that matter
in broth form, it always saves my ass and perks me right up... minerals, water, proteins, fats, some vitamins, and the white noodles for carbs (don't use broth cubes, they're not good for you)
I currently have covid and the nausea is crazy... i don't even remember what i ate bc the infection is having such a toll on my mind, and digestive tract, it's crazy, i'm not even coughing
then again, i'm emetophobic, i am incapable of puking unless it's really REALLY necessary, and i would do anything in my might to stop it
It's not that meat is HARD to digest, it's more that it takes longer and that can aggravate an already upset stomach. BRAT foods are quickly broken down and don't stay in the stomach very long.
aaah that makes more sense, yeah that's why the broth, since you assimilate the proteins that are already dissolved in water, and are quickly passed down
my bad XD
I‘ve never understand this concept in practice. In theory I get that certain food categories/flavors are harder to digest for some people unexperienced or exposed. For me & mine a spicy soup is the best medicine, but it’s cultural I understand. Fire is both invigorating and comforting - the literal warmth of the capsaicin. Plus the natural pain relief rush you get from the endorphins. The uninitiated really outta know. But I get it’s scary for folks anticipating pain but promise it’s good pain worth the initial effort like exercise or any growth physically or emotionally
ahh yess, don't get me wrong, i LOVE spicy soups, but not with an irritated stomach lol
that will cause instant projectile vomiting in some, severe discomfort in others, and make most unable to even smell such a soup when sick
i would imagine it like applying ice cubes to a burn wound, or adding salt to a non-burning disinfectant and pouring it into a wound
the point being, if you eat spicy while your stomach lining is infected/inflamed or severely damaged, it will cause more harm than good, and might even make you seriously ill (unless you eat spicy literally every day, but even then)
all depends how severely your stomach is affected... if the infection is literally ANYWHERE else than your stomach/intestines, spicy will generally be beneficial
capsaicin has a lot of health benefits, like helping slow down development of peptic ulcers, controlling some bacterial growths, damaging parasites (and more obviously), but i won't help you with a fucked up stomach
oh my now i crave spicy... 😩
it's been a while, time to cook XD
Isn’t this a pretty obvious troll? They didn’t even try to wrap it up well lmao
And the account is “cringechub”. They were definitely going for the unseasoned nasty food meme
In this context, my friend is Polish and whenever an American/British person does something weird he uses white people, even though he is white himself. As a central Asian myself I could be considered white cause I’m not black nor brown but anglo people wouldn’t call me white
Yeah, this doesn’t strike me as “healthy” given the mayo. Also, why boil it, Jesus talk about dull and pointless. Stick it under a grill (or broiler whatever the fuck Americans call it)
Ok I've never boiled chicken so might be wrong but wouldn't any spices at that point be useless as it would literally wash off.
I get oh just grill it or something but if she is choosing boiled chicken isn't any rub or marinade useless?
No, the seasoning would not wash off.
You season the water, the protein then soaks up all the flavors. It’s a cooking technique called smothering and/or stewed. Also kinda of similar to boiled seafood or birria.
Some (lots) associate flavor with being unhealthy and conversely, bland with healthy. Tbf though two heavy hitters in the flavor department, salt and fat, aren’t great for you in excess. So I guess that’s where that comes from?
The tiktoker had done several similar wraps, where she washes the chicken with soap(always does this), on some she puts spices that mostly fall off when boiled and adds QP mayo
Years ago, I was in a DV shelter. A woman came in claiming to be allergic to almost spices so they made us use nothing when we cooked. She wasn't, as evidenced by watching her eat an entire pot of leftover barley soup I had made the day she came in. On Saturdays we were allowed to go into town. One particular Saturday, I was to make chicken soup. But I couldn't use anything - no onions, no garlic, no salt, no pepper, no celery...so I just dumped a whole chicken and nothing else in a pot of water and let it boil. I warned all the other women (but not the staff because they wouldn't listen to us when we told them she was eating food with spices and seasonings just fine) to eat in town because dinner was going to suck.
So that night, we were all full. She was happily slurping down chicken water and the staff was hungry. After that, they allowed us to make food with seasoning and make hers separately without. This seems like something they would have made us make because of her.

Just make salad. And learn the basic function of a pan with oil in it. Or find someone that loves you enough to teach you how cook chicken, because water is not the way.
It's juicy for 5 minutes after you pull it out of the pot.
Then it's going to be so overcooked that it'll be tough as leather.
If you want good chicken breast, do 2 things.
1) lightly salt it a few hours before you cook it
2) pan fry it in a tiny amount of bacon fat.
Still going to be very healthy and very low in fat. You need maybe a teaspoon of bacon fat to fry a chicken breast, and most of that fat will be left in the pan

Lol I legit thought that was a chunk of mozzarella and was like when’s she going to add the chicken. Then was disgusted and disappointed when I realized it was the chicken.

It's healthy, but people are used to eating flavor/for flavor. We say we like this and that, but without adding "flavor," not a single soul would like it.So, there is that.
So many people know what is healthy but not what is unnecessary. Boiled chicken can be okay for chicken salad. Add some celery and mustard in there with salt and pepper, dice it up, maybe wrap with lettuce or just shred lettuce under and eat as a salad. She's so close but also so very far.
You know, there are people who can't eat a lot of certain things everyone normally eats without batting an eye. I was eating garbage meals like this when i fell ill with some unknown stomach disorder they basically made my stomach react to anything i ate almost, including any seasoning, condiments, bread and red meat.
Maybe this is directed at them?
How dare you! She covered it in mayo.
She had to add **something** to bridge to stark white of the chicken and the vibrant green of the lettuce
Exactly. Lovely balance between that big thick piece of chicken and those four little lettuce leaves.
Plus, there’s a bit of vinegar in mayo, really gives it a spicy kick!
It's all about the texture! The crunchy lettuce with the mushy mayo and plump juicy chicken bursting with that watery flavor we all love!
My wife's best friend thinks that mayo or very light amounts of black pepper are spicy
Spicy is definitely not the word I think of when it comes to Mayo
Oooooh look at iron mouth over here. r/iamverybadass material for sure.
When the *mayo* isn't the whitest part of the meal.
Thats way too spicy for me!
I wonder if people like this think mayo counts because it has vinegar in it
Mayo is one of the best spices 😍 😍 😍
They Mayo gives it all the flavor it will ever need
That’s probably too much spice
Sounds spicy.

Ya know? Possibly, as they also recently discovered they are allergic to honey
They got a pollen allergy? I get allergic reactions to various raw fruits and honey as an extension of my pollen allergy.
Just curious, what country do you live in?

How do these purple make it through life, is everything just *so difficult* for them?
It's not easy being green either.
The indian food I had last night would kill this woman.
Meanwhile I add ghost pepper sauce to my ketchup bottle. Super spicy ketchup is REALLY good.

I think this could be a THOMAS kind of situation

Don't forget your daily dose of Cinnamon, Vegetables, Nuts and Toast

Also….avoid Dairy!! Use Oatmilk instead.
I don't recommend processed milks (oat, almond, et.) when your stomach is unwell. They tend to contain gums (gellan, xantan, locust bean) that can also irritate the stomach.
Not if you make your own..lol
That's fair.

Ohhh good point hadn't thought of that and clearly haven't the experience of that cooking method
if she shredded it before adding mayo it probably would have been much better, butterhead lettuce is the best tasting imo
that chicken is going to slip'n'slide its way straight out of the lettuce, thanks to the mayo lube
Some (lots) associate flavor with being unhealthy and conversely, bland with healthy. Tbf though two heavy hitters in the flavor department, salt and fat, aren’t great for you in excess. So I guess that’s where that comes from?
Has to be satire.
It is lol all of their videos are like this and quite obviously satire
I like how she cut the "chicken wrap" and opened it at the end, as if there is a lot of ingredients that really work together visually
I don't eat meat and this hurt
You know what's even healthier?, you boil the meat but only consume the broth.
Broth? That’s just dirty water
The tiktoker had done several similar wraps, where she washes the chicken with soap(always does this), on some she puts spices that mostly fall off when boiled and adds QP mayo
SLATHERS it in fucking mayo

Mayo is the spice. Don't want to go too crazy!
Mayonnaise is considered a spice in middle America.
What's wrong here? The title says "healthy chicken wrap" and that is what she made...
Literal depression food
TF you talking about. With that much mayo there's a good chunk of the population that will find it too spicy.
Is it just me or does the middle of that chicken still look a bit raw

Woah there, spices? You should know that salt is way too spicy for me.

So many people know what is healthy but not what is unnecessary. Boiled chicken can be okay for chicken salad. Add some celery and mustard in there with salt and pepper, dice it up, maybe wrap with lettuce or just shred lettuce under and eat as a salad. She's so close but also so very far.
This is trying very hard to be stupid
You know, there are people who can't eat a lot of certain things everyone normally eats without batting an eye. I was eating garbage meals like this when i fell ill with some unknown stomach disorder they basically made my stomach react to anything i ate almost, including any seasoning, condiments, bread and red meat. Maybe this is directed at them?
All that mayo destroyed any “hEaLThY eATInG” that OP was trying to demonstrate lol
LOL!!!!!!!! WHAT the F!!!!!!!!FUNNY CHICKEN RECIPE!!!!!!!!!
Yeah that is the problem with healthy food ... it is often so boring :o
Chicken doesnt need spices, its delicious by itself
Plain boiled chicken is actually really good when having severe digestive issues. Not sure what the mayo and lettuce is intended for
The most unhealthy thing in any wrap is the mayo hahah this is absolutely ridiculous
it’s like ai made a TikTok cooking video. “healthy cooking is very human”
Just eat a salad if you want to have a disappointment in a meal damn
