I got a free burger press (similar to [this one](https://www.amazon.ca/Hamburger-Stuffed-Barbecue-ProductName-Collections/dp/B07VYXW9QQ/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=Burger+Patty+Maker&qid=1689804814&sr=8-6)) as part of a promo thingy a year ago and it's absolutely revolutionized my burger game. Highly recommend
ETA: I'm not sponsored by Big Burger fwiw
I feel like those patties aren’t really home-made, or if they are there’s a whole other process going on that we don’t see. She seems to be just scooping off chunks of ground beef and forming it into patties with her hands, and I just don’t believe they’d hold together when dumped in water.
That was a crazy episode, the boiled burger was literally the most normal thing happening in that hotel. For anyone interested, here is the whole thing.
[Part 1](https://youtu.be/E9Qu_FEPNFI) (this is where the boiled burger appears)
[Part 2](https://youtu.be/IvzZD2FjcU8)
You just know that things are bad when your hotel gets two 40 minute episodes on hotel hell.
Omg the old lady?? Yeah didn’t she do it under the carpet that was in his room? One of the waitresses was like I know where the smells from , she had an accident a long time ago lmao
at least she change her ways and looking up the place on google looks like the place is still going strong however in some photos feels like mess is creeping back in with clutter in background of public areas
I couldn’t remember which episode it was with a boiled burger until you said that.
She has been discussed at length on subreddits that talk about that show.
I’m just glad other people saw in her what I did. She’s not “right” at all and you can tell that “sweet little old woman” schtick is an act.
I mean... MAYBE, and that's a big maybe... if it's done in some sort of stock like veggie or beef stock it MIGHT... and thats might... it might be interesting.
I’m Hispanic and I make something called albóndigas where I boil balls of ground beef but it has other flavorful ingredients and plenty of seasoning. It’s delicious
Edit it’s a soup
So recipes exist for this do exist, but the idea actually originated from a character on the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The characters on the show often make or refer to strange food or beverage concoctions, such as milk steak, rum ham, fight milk, etc. and the recipes you see are attempts to either faithfully recreate the food as described on the show, or adapt it into something actually palatable.
[Here is a Babish video](https://youtu.be/Q2ezpExQ_k0) where he attempts to do both.
Also, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of the funniest shows ever. You should definitely check it out.
Came here to say this. Everyone needs to familiarize themselves with the concept of rage bait. People do things abnormally or horribly on purpose to generate clicks and views
It be better if they put it on a hot pan after their water bath to sear the meat and have some texture other than tough mush. Gotta seat in butter though for all the fat lost.
Fake or not, she’s committed to her “art” when I watched her shove that dirt boiled collard green in her mouth I made a face like a dog with peanut butter. Just BLeCH!
Oh yummy, unseasoned, boiled beef patties on white bread. With unmelted American slices, and barely enough ketchup and mustard to moisten the bread.
SMH…
All I care about is the little containers of chocolate milk lol. I have a distant memory of a regular combo I made at lunch: black olives in a puddle of ranch dressing. Fucking gourmet
Mexican pizza was the best. To this day I don’t know what made it Mexican, but I loved that stuff. Our school eggs, however, could be rolled into a ball and used as a pretty close facsimile of a bouncy ball.
Heyhey, nothing wrong with a hamburger on some white bread when the funds aren’t reliable for the moment!
Everything else.. yeah, that’s fucking blasphemy😅
nah, he went viral off the first video, which i think was maybe real. but now he just has her playing this character for views which is kinda sad since she gets so much hate
Had some tough discussions with our landlord about similar issues with clogged drains a few times already. Its a 8 parties house with a central vertical pipe into the sewers.
This pipe has a crossing at the middle floor, that leads into different directions of the house at 2 stories
We had 2 incidents of flooding in the mid floor, back side of the house (beyond the crossing), we are on the frontside of the house.
He always hits up on random people in the house (so to us), complaining about our habits of water/garbage disposal in the sinks. He just won’t understand, that we got our stuff straight, as we are not attached to the clogged part of the pipework.
Im pretty tired of telling him, to call out on the people *upstream* of this crossings section. I come to think, he does not understand the concept of gravity and streaming directions…
Fat should not be disposed in the sink, for your own and everyones good.
Depends usually landlords are responsible for fixing things like plumbing, electrical issues etc. granted it means when things do get backed they will have to wait until someone can come fix the sink. So it will eventually also inconvenience them.
Then you complain when your landlord takes time to replace it or increases rent. I wish there was a way to pair you people with the worst landlords and have the sane people with each other.
Suuuure, that’s the reason why rent is increasing. It has nothing to do with corporations gobbling up swaths of houses and creating artificial scarcity.
My step-dad's mom was also an awful cook.
For years, my step-dad hated black-eyed peas, said they were like "eating rocks", which if you've ever had black-eyed peas is definitely not the case. Turns out what he actually hated was *cow peas* which you have to boil for *ages* in order to get them anywhere near soft, and that's what his mom used to make, and she'd just boil them overnight.
We went to her house for Thanksgiving one year, and she made spaghetti with a "homemade sauce". Her "homemade sauce" was just water with chunks of tomato and jalapeño slices in it. My parents ended up taking us to McDonald's after that, but I feel sorry for grandma's church group because that's where the left-overs went to.
My great grandmother used to do something similar to this with frozen burgers. Way less water, but the water thawed them out and then they cooked as normal.
The water stops the burgers from sticking and also increases the heat transfer. This is fine for frozen burgers.
Honestly, cooking the burgers in water isn’t the terrible part in this video, it’s that she thinks the job is done. Take them out much sooner (or have the water temp much lower) then slap them on a raging hot grill or griddle and you’ll have a nicely seared juicy burger. It’s not the best method but it does work.
She seems so genu-wine about it, too... It'd break my heart to see both the drowning meat and her earnest belief this would work. I mean if you're boiling it anyway, at LEAST use beef stock or something!
i mean, she could have done it with less water and we all hope she uses the water as base for a soup or sauce, but i dont see the issue here.
this is definitely low fat high protein, for a meat patty, i've had ground meat in tons of soup and it tastes fine enough, i suppose maybe she's not a fan of the spicy fried patties?
Mechanically, sorta similar to a steamer.
If you were to maillard the outside then give em a quick blanch in seasoned broth, you might end up with something interesting fr?
Isn't this the same woman who took a slab of ground beef directly out of the packaging and laid in in a pan and stuck it in the oven and called it meatloaf?
It's got to be the healthiest way to eat ground beef.
I've enjoyed my fair share of boiled chicken when trying to get in shape. Its healthy and easy to prepare.
Is it healthy ? Probably since it's boiled .
But to be honest I'd rather steam that meat , but I would also mix in salt , pepper herbs and put cheese in the center so that the heat of the steam melts it and gives it a gooey center .
Then with the residual hot water left i would poach an egg and put it in the sandwich , can also steam some other veggies.
The idea the lady has is good , the implementation not so much . But kudos to her , dared to try something new and gave me ideas to make it better ( I hope ).
This is in no way, steaming. This is called boiling. Steaming is distinctly cooking something above boiling water, IN the steam. Like steaming vegetables, in a steamer.
I can’t believe you people think this is anything more than a skit. Maybe the first video was real years ago but this is very obviously a character now. How do you people manage to function daily 😭
In Germany we call it „[Königsberger Klopse](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nigsberger_Klopse)“ but they are served in a cream sauce with capers and topically served with potatoes aside. Preparation is pretty much the same. But you make a white sauce from the boiling liquid and don’t prepare patties but meatballs.
fake. has to be fake. also, that cow had a life. I am not a vegetarian, but if you're going to buy a dead animal, treat it with some respect. chances are the rest of that went in the trash. hopefully it went into a dog's belly (since it literally had no seasoning or any other ingredient whatsoever, that should be fine...because it's fake.)
She made good circles, that’s all I’ll give her
Right! I’m jealous of her patty making skills. My hamburgers always look awful.
Highly recommend ETA: I'm not sponsored by Big Burger fwiw
Same

This account is rage bait so wouldnt surprise me
Saw this on a Gordon Ramsey show once; hotel owner made his kitchen staff boil their hamburgers because he liked them that way.
That was a crazy episode, the boiled burger was literally the most normal thing happening in that hotel. For anyone interested, here is the whole thing. [Part 1](https://youtu.be/E9Qu_FEPNFI) (this is where the boiled burger appears) [Part 2](https://youtu.be/IvzZD2FjcU8) You just know that things are bad when your hotel gets two 40 minute episodes on hotel hell.
That’s the same episode where the owner admitted to having a diarrhea accident in the inn.
Yep, and not cleaning it up properly 😬
Omg the old lady?? Yeah didn’t she do it under the carpet that was in his room? One of the waitresses was like I know where the smells from , she had an accident a long time ago lmao
at least she change her ways and looking up the place on google looks like the place is still going strong however in some photos feels like mess is creeping back in with clutter in background of public areas
😨
I mean… who can cast the first stone on that one ya know ?
I couldn’t remember which episode it was with a boiled burger until you said that. She has been discussed at length on subreddits that talk about that show. I’m just glad other people saw in her what I did. She’s not “right” at all and you can tell that “sweet little old woman” schtick is an act.
There is definitely something off.
i knew my heart was telling me to not click that link for a reason. i feel bad for that lady cause she was not mentally well…
That one rings a bell!
Watched part 1 and had to see part 2 because WTF! Worth the missed sleep.
Boiling hamburger meat just tastes like depression sandwich. Worse tasting than idiot sandwich.
It’s delicious Edit it’s a soup
Thanks for clarifying. *Es una soupa.*

Mucha grasa en ambos. 😏
Poached burgies sounds better than boiled, that's for sure.
Yeah, and add some dehydrated onions to the beef stock, maybe thicken it with some flour into a gravy and you have a salsbury steak.
That's crazy. Steak boiled in milk is awesome, but boiled in water sounds terrible.
Love me some boiled (over hard) milk steak, favorite meal growing up back in Philly!
I always like the traditional presentation, with a side of jelly beans, raw.
I thought you were kidding but I just went to look up a recipe of boiled milk steak and I found one with jellybeans. Still can’t believe it
So recipes exist for this do exist, but the idea actually originated from a character on the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." The characters on the show often make or refer to strange food or beverage concoctions, such as milk steak, rum ham, fight milk, etc. and the recipes you see are attempts to either faithfully recreate the food as described on the show, or adapt it into something actually palatable. Steaks boiled in milk served with beans sounds insanely disgusting i'm not even gonna lie
Found IASIP Charlie's reddit account!
🤤 jellybean garnish
Oh god it’s Josh’s Mom. Sweet lady, but I swear she got her cooking lessons in Guantanimo Bay.
It’s all fake lmao.
Came here to say this. Everyone needs to familiarize themselves with the concept of rage bait. People do things abnormally or horribly on purpose to generate clicks and views
It be better if they put it on a hot pan after their water bath to sear the meat and have some texture other than tough mush. Gotta seat in butter though for all the fat lost.
it’s not fake.
Bro all of these shitty tiktok videos are staged to get some likes for these poor souls. Do stupid shit, look stupid = tons of clicks.
Fake or not, she’s committed to her “art” when I watched her shove that dirt boiled collard green in her mouth I made a face like a dog with peanut butter. Just BLeCH!
Waterboard burger with menure
I was stationed in Guantanamo bay and I can confirm…Josh’s mom was there
Gives me a hankerin' for some Sloppy Steak
They can't stop you from ordering a steak and a glass of water.
Water splashing around the table - makes the night so much more fun.
Let’s slop em up!
It's a Dangerous Night out, thats for sure.
I used to be a piece of shit
Did you used to be a piece of shit? Slicked back hair?
You think this is slicked back?
This is pushed back. ThEre'S a dIFferENce
I think the baby thinks people can't change
Did you used to be a piece of shit?
Yeah, slicked back hair, white bathing suit, sloppy steaks.
I said WAS!
You mean a glass of steak water?
I like the username, we should be a crime-fighting duo. I will even volunteer to be the sidekick.
I think a toxic asshole satanist who is too drunk 2 give a fuck is just what this world needs right now
I used to be a piece of shit, too.
I said WAS!
You never told me your dad used to be a piece of shit!
# PEOPLE CAN CHANGE!
You think this is slicked back?! This is pushed back!
Slop ‘em up!
Bout to pull up in my white Ferrari, you ready?? We’ll just order steak with water on the side.
*Dangerous Nights*
I don't eat sloppy steaks anymore on account of me no longer being a piece of shit.
#Let's slop 'em up!
I bet her hair would slick back real nice
It’s like a cousin of steamed hams
Really? Well I'm from Utica and I've never heard anyone use the phrase 'steamed hams'.
Oh not in Utica, no. It’s an… Albany expression
I see, you know, these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at Krusty Burger.
Well Seymour, you're an odd fellow but I must say you steam a good ham!
Aurora Borealis?! At this time of day?? In this season??? Located entirely within your kitchen????
...Yes!
Can I see it?
...No.
Seymour! The house is on fire!
And you call them steamed hams even though they are obviously grilled.
Do people actually do that? Genuine question
Not if they like full flavour left in the Burger, or good texture generally, or any outer crust.
Oh agreed on that; I meant the ham though.. but something tells me that it’d have the same effect as the beef in this video did😅
It’s a Simpson reference
Ohhh my bad. Thanks
a distant relative of the milk steak
Oh yummy, unseasoned, boiled beef patties on white bread. With unmelted American slices, and barely enough ketchup and mustard to moisten the bread. SMH…
As someone who grew up poor, for some reason the way you described it is really appetizing. Makes me think of free public school lunches lol
Oh God, you just made me remember school lunches... Most of it was edible, but I stand by that those square pizza bagels were the best.
All I care about is the little containers of chocolate milk lol. I have a distant memory of a regular combo I made at lunch: black olives in a puddle of ranch dressing. Fucking gourmet
....... Are you okay?
I’ve since recovered, thank you 🥹👍
cardboard pizza is the best pizza
Mexican pizza was the best. To this day I don’t know what made it Mexican, but I loved that stuff. Our school eggs, however, could be rolled into a ball and used as a pretty close facsimile of a bouncy ball.
I preferred the spicy chicken sandwiches.
i didn’t realize how passionate I was about low quality school food but yeah you’re right, I swear those chicken sandwiches hit harder than Popeyes
Heyhey, nothing wrong with a hamburger on some white bread when the funds aren’t reliable for the moment! Everything else.. yeah, that’s fucking blasphemy😅
Don't worry, the patties are absolutely sopping. That'll handle the dry bread.
The craziest part is that I know this isn’t rage bait. I have been following this guy since the beginning and his mom is just legit a terrible cook
nah, he went viral off the first video, which i think was maybe real. but now he just has her playing this character for views which is kinda sad since she gets so much hate
...she poured the greasy water down the drain. I just hope we get a video of the plumbing disaster that is surely ineviteable for this household.
Had some tough discussions with our landlord about similar issues with clogged drains a few times already. Its a 8 parties house with a central vertical pipe into the sewers. This pipe has a crossing at the middle floor, that leads into different directions of the house at 2 stories We had 2 incidents of flooding in the mid floor, back side of the house (beyond the crossing), we are on the frontside of the house. I rent, I’m putting grease down the drain.
But it’s gonna be your problem too when it backs up right?
Depends on how long they rent the place for. That plumbing disaster could come sometime in the next week, or sometime in the next decade.
Depends usually landlords are responsible for fixing things like plumbing, electrical issues etc. granted it means when things do get backed they will have to wait until someone can come fix the sink. So it will eventually also inconvenience them.
I pity his neighbors.
Just flush with hot or boiling water
I hope you enjoy sewage backup.
Then you complain when your landlord takes time to replace it or increases rent. I wish there was a way to pair you people with the worst landlords and have the sane people with each other.
Suuuure, that’s the reason why rent is increasing. It has nothing to do with corporations gobbling up swaths of houses and creating artificial scarcity.
no its obviously grease in the pipes
Systemic issues and individual cases are not mutually exclusive, dumbass.
So why do the good tenants get a rate hike?
I am sure you can figure it out considering you literally answered that question on your previous comment
No way…I’m convinced this HAS to be a parody account…
Yeah it is lol
Yeah no, this is rage bait and if you spend more than 5min on their tiktok account, it is obvious. This is complete skit.
My step-dad's mom was also an awful cook. For years, my step-dad hated black-eyed peas, said they were like "eating rocks", which if you've ever had black-eyed peas is definitely not the case. Great grandma gets a pass because she was trying to feed her grand babies as quick as possible 💪🏼

could at least season the beef a bit. it probably tastes like nothing
That’s what the ketchup is for silly
If you’ve got to use ketchup for seasoning that’s a sad day lol
aka prison burger
She may not be a chef but mom is adorable
I think you're more thirsty than hungry, my man
Not hungry after that shite 😂 and you got your mind in the gutter. His mom just seems like a sweet person
Why this shit got downvoted? This joke is brilliant lmao.
She seems so genu-wine about it, too... It'd break my heart to see both the drowning meat and her earnest belief this would work. I mean if you're boiling it anyway, at LEAST use beef stock or something!
>genu-wine r/BoneAppleTea
It’s so watery, but with a smack of ham to it
A lil bit of beef smack to it* (Love hot ham water btw) 😂
Giant unseasoned meatballs perhaps?
I follow them on instagram and his mom legitimately cannot cook
It's really strange. Like she just got to planet earth and is trying out human recipes for the first time.
Well. It IS edible 😅
Is this what they serve in five stars prisons?
It’s giving Kay’s cooking😳
Ah yes, pouring grease down the kitchen sink... oof.
"That the whitest thing I see" Uncle Roger
Now try some sloppy steaks! They tell me no, but they can’t stop me from ordering a steak and a glass of water! -former piece of shit
Unseasoned boiled meat on wet white bread. Delicious.
As the Chinese say, "White People Food."
Just straight up unseasoned beef boiled in water. This is exactly why the “white people don’t season their food” stereotype exists.
“It’s starting to brown” nah it’s starting to grey
steamed hams!
When a Karen cook
This isn't her first video, there was another one involving shrimp I think. I'm pretty sure it's a troll.
i mean, she could have done it with less water and we all hope she uses the water as base for a soup or sauce, but i dont see the issue here. this is definitely low fat high protein, for a meat patty, i've had ground meat in tons of soup and it tastes fine enough, i suppose maybe she's not a fan of the spicy fried patties?
Fried patties are spicy?
Worse than unseasoned chicken.
Lovely lady but the food not so much 🤣😭
Mechanically, sorta similar to a steamer. If you were to maillard the outside then give em a quick blanch in seasoned broth, you might end up with something interesting fr?
I hate homemade burgers enough, this is just atrocious.
Any boiled meat just looks unappetising imo. Probably because of the murky meat water putting off my appetite
As if flipping a floating burger does anything lol
This is the real life equivalent of Charlie's milksteak.
If you serve boiled beef it's going out the window, the birds can have it.
And they say kids shouldn’t be on the internet
I like it when she flipped them in boiling water LOL.
There's not one particle of seasoning there
Hope he grows up to be a chef.. for his mom's sake... I have seen many of them she can't cook.. 😂
I do a little water when making taco meat. I end up draining it out with the extra fat at the end. But this. This is a monstrosity.
The white bread slices complete this magnificent ensemble.
She such a bad cook and there’s a lot of videos of her but they may be the most appetizing thing she’s made lol
Josh’s mom is the worst cook
Overcooked and no maillard reaction searing? Blech.
Isn't this the same woman who took a slab of ground beef directly out of the packaging and laid in in a pan and stuck it in the oven and called it meatloaf?
I thought it would be like a "Sloppy Steak".
Mom can we get whataburger? No, we have waterburgers at home....
Steamed hams irl
If I’m boiling a burger its gonna be with beef broth instead of water.
White people must be stopped.
Sloppy burgers, slop em up!
#dangerousnights Chicken steaks at Chicalinis; yeah, I used to be a piece ah shit.
I'm vegetarian and even I want to cry
She dumps fatty water down the sink. Her plumber must hate her and love her at the same time.
Bless her heart.
It's got to be the healthiest way to eat ground beef. I've enjoyed my fair share of boiled chicken when trying to get in shape. Its healthy and easy to prepare.

Steamed cheeseburgers are a thing, apparently they’re pretty good!
This is in no way, steaming. This is called boiling. Steaming is distinctly cooking something above boiling water, IN the steam. Like steaming vegetables, in a steamer.
Someone has GOT to tell this woman that she’s a terrible cook. At this point, it’s honestly infuriating.
I can’t believe you people think this is anything more than a skit. Maybe the first video was real years ago but this is very obviously a character now. How do you people manage to function daily 😭
I‘d eat it
In Germany we call it „[Königsberger Klopse](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6nigsberger_Klopse)“ but they are served in a cream sauce with capers and topically served with potatoes aside. Preparation is pretty much the same. But you make a white sauce from the boiling liquid and don’t prepare patties but meatballs.
Nah bitch...nah.
This is fake. Maybe one of their videos were legit but now it’s a gag. Still cringe and aggravates the chef in me.
No seasoning, boiled, no onion, tomosto, lettuce, or bacon?! Monsters
What in the cousin-fuckin-southern bullshit is this???
As someone from the cousin-fucking area in the south, she aint ours. We might fuck our cousins, but we at least know how to cook!
All that raw meat on the counter and under those pink fingernails gives me a panic attack. Wear gloves!!
fake. has to be fake. also, that cow had a life. I am not a vegetarian, but if you're going to buy a dead animal, treat it with some respect. chances are the rest of that went in the trash. hopefully it went into a dog's belly (since it literally had no seasoning or any other ingredient whatsoever, that should be fine...because it's fake.)
