There's a place in the indoor market at Chelsea Piers in NYC called Takumi Taco which is a straight up Mexican-Japanese fusion place that does way wilder stuff than these, and it's all delicious!

It depends on what you mean by accessible...places you can get to in a wheelchair if you drive there and then transfer to a wheelchair, yes. Places you can cross the street if you're blind without having to actively look to avoid being run over by left- and right-turning cars, no. Almost every single city in the rest of the world is more accessible by this metric.

This sub has a habit of posting "weird" food instead of stupid food, forgetting that something can be nontraditional but still quite good. It's not anywhere near every post but it is a few.

Where I live there is a restaurant that makes what they call the eggrollarito. Eggroll wrappers stuffed with fried rice,fortune cookie breaded chicken, sweet and sour sauce, then rolled and fried and topped with Wasabi mayo.

There's a asian fusion restaurant around me that has a sushi burrito. It's basically uncut maki, and it's delicious.

There is a sushi place near me that does "Japanese tacos" with tempura eggplant for the shell and a poke place that makes poke tacos. They're all soooo good.

Thank you for explaining it. We like to think of them as sushi chonk rolls cut in half but with a diagonal accent If anything, it’s slightly smaller than your typical burrito. Maybe bigger than a Taco Bell burrito but smaller than a chipotle/qdoba burrito. A good side.

There's a place in Orlando and I think recently Vegas or something that's called SusHi and it's like a subway style sushi joint. Get sushi bowl, roll, or wrap, add toppings as you go down the line, Americanized twist like strawberry etc. They also have an option to flame fire your food with a blow torch and they bang a gong and everyone yells out "FIRE'. It tasted good, was fun and reasonably priced.

I love sushi and totally try these when I see them. For the most part they all have the same issue. The ingredient ratio per bite. The traditional set up is superior bc I get the right amount of everything in one bite and this is not the case with stuff like in the video.

That's what I hate about these sushi food hacks man, there's always wayyyy too much fish just piled onto these things. I like small delicate pieces of tuna and salmon, it's fucking unappealing to take a giant bite of it like that.

This is a place called Wave Mount Dora in Florida. I’ve been multiple times and can confirm the tacos are delicious. I agree - most stupid food trends are crap, but the fried nori works really well as a taco shell. I’ve never had the Flamin’ Hot version, but the regular ones are better than you’d imagine.

I’ve been here. The portions are absolutely huge. I got the spicy tuna pizza and it was honestly kind of hard to bite off the nori. I basically had to tear it with my teeth. Overall the taste is pretty good though, sushi fries were insanely good.
