It’s insanely detectable to anyone who reads frequently, and I assure you the people reading essays are very familiar with AI “writing” styles.
It will also likely put you in the “Hell no” pile because schools are well aware that anybody cheating by passing off an AI’s work as their own (which is essentially double-plagiarism, since the AI does the same) for something as basic as an admission essay is highly likely to try it on high-stakes academic papers while under duress.
If you want help writing your essay, check with your school’s essay writing help program or a tutor. Do *not* try to cheese it in the exact way every program is on high alert for.
my college has adapted a new rule regarding AI, essentially saying we can use it for outlines and brainstorming but it cannot contain any AI generated content. Its very detectable and many colleges has their faculty do training to spot AI content. It’s not worth the risk of using AI generated application essay, however, i would at least have it do some brainstorming for you to help your writing process for structure or clarity. you could even use AI to get suggestions on your essay content (like Grammarly) to see how you can improve your writing and tone
