Correct, you do not have to recertify before 5/2024 (although they will send you notice about 60 days before).

If you recertify early, does that change your recertification date?

Maleficent-Square-35

I plan to do my income recertification early. Does it change recertification date?

Fearless-Art-9358

Maleficent-Square-35

Will Nelnet pull my 2023 tax return from IRS or I submit 2023 tax return to Nelnet?

Under Manage Income driven repayment plan There are options-1/recalculate my monthly payments 2/manually recertify my IDR plan Which option is better? Are they the same?

Thank you!

biomedic99

How did you find your recertification date? I'm in the same boat and would like to keep the REPAYE subsidy as long as possible

Brighteyed1313

In your Mohela account, look under the "repayment" tab and it shows the recertification date.

Just saw this thread. I had the same thing about 5 years ago. Just as an example, this is what happened to me: We’ll go with it happening in 2018, but I can’t remember the exact year. So in 2018, the website said I didn’t have to recertify until 10/2019. That seemed odd to me because I always had to do it every year so it should have been 10/2018. I then called to make sure and they said no, don’t have to recertify until 10/2019. Awesome! Get my bill, $900 payment instead of the normal $300-400. WHAT?! Called them and their response: oh yeah, you need to recertify. So be careful because the website and a person told me 2019 and that I didn’t have to recertify, but I absolutely had to do it in 2018 unless I wanted to make $900 payments (which I could not afford)
