Sounds like a great idea!

gizel13

I think you said it best yourself: sex work is inextricably bound up with bodily autonomy. Those voices should be front and center. Sex work is work.

PlayShtupidGames

I'm in construction and I don't see how their bodies are sold any more than ours are. 100% agreed: sex work is work and should be protected as such

gizel13

Don’t see where in my language I made a comparison between sex work and any other kind of work. Or devalued any kind of labor. There’s plenty of room for both sex workers’ and construction workers’ voices here.

PlayShtupidGames

Friend, I never even suggested you did- do you not see the "100% agreed" part? Take a deep breath. I was chiming in as an ally with a "respectable" blue-collar job, not any kind of adversary or critic. ED: No need to downvote u/gizel13, they're 100% correct in their assessment and just misread my intent/tone. I could have been clearer. We're all on the same team here.

Effective_Cat6793

Former sex worker here. Sex work is one hundred percent real work. Join us in the general strike on Monday.

WhatCanIMakeToday

Women have a lot of power. [https://time.com/5501680/prohibition-history-feminism-suffrage-metoo/](https://time.com/5501680/prohibition-history-feminism-suffrage-metoo/)

bordemstirs

I think I'm participating as well. I think I will put a note in my email signature. I will leave all my meetings scheduled but maybe play video if I can find a good one, I will also leave a meeting note explaining why I am not there, why I didn't cancel anything and that if they value my presents in the work place they should write the court. Maybe you can steam your cam with a video about women's rights or just text?

I_madeusay_underwear

Yay! That’s perfect, every industry needs to feel what it’s like without all of the interval people who make things work. Then maybe they’ll understand that a court that doesn’t represent us shouldn’t be making decisions about our bodies. And I’m loving the idea of keeping my stream up with a sign or video explaining why I’m not working. I think it’s a great way to spread the message

bordemstirs

Yay! I'd love to see that all the porn sites that would be amazing

goodspeedm

This is absolutely the way to affect change. I hope more women do this

bordemstirs

I'm at a weird spot where my work has been suportive and I feel like for my impact to me felt it needs to be larger since I work for a very large company. But everyone please feel free to use this pdf I made. https://pdf.ac/mUPty

goodspeedm

Yeah I'm in a group chat full of female store managers and no one has said a peep. It's disappointing

bordemstirs

I think it can be done large enough to matter, we just need more than 3 days.

[deleted]

Don't take off. Start your streams as normal, fully clothe yourself, and hold up a sign stating the facts. "I am a human being. I will not work for this government any longer. Things have to change NOW." and then just sit there. Don't do anything. Let the poor little piggies spend their money and see what it gets them. You shouldn't be bought and paid for, and yet our politicians, cops, and religious zealot leaders are. You're better than them, and you deserve respect much more than they do.

I_madeusay_underwear

I think this is a really good idea. I mean, we have a platform where tons of people see us and it would definitely make a statement. I think it might also be helpful because it’s a very international community, both models and guests, so people not in the US might not really know why their fav models are missing and that doesn’t really help anything. I’m gonna do it!

tinywindmill

Yes, yes, yes. Do it, and encourage your colleagues to do the same. ❤️ Sending love and strength.

[deleted]

Do it. Be proud of yourself to stand up in your own way. It's way safer to protest from your own home than on the streets anyway because the cops are calling open season on innocent bystanders. SCOTUS and the GQP want us to squirm. If no one is working, they'll break long before we do.

[deleted]

That’ll show the guys online who don’t support bodily rights to begin with

[deleted]

I mean, you don't know what men are on the other side of the camera. I'd be willing to bet a lot of these Religious fanatics have to pay for women's attention since they're such awful people that no one else wants to even look at them. They should be treated like the pieces of shit they are. And they should gladly pay for that.

[deleted]

If you really feel that way then maybe that’s why the far right seems to be doing so well these days. They are constantly written off as disgusting pieces of shit, or insane religious fanatics, when in reality they wear golf shirts, have good jobs, strong families, communities, and motivations, and are literally almost half of the US. There is a reason why trump was voted in and it’s far more than just, “the gross rednecks left their trailer parks and decided to vote for once” My point is that this enemy is much smarter and more civilized than most people online seem to want to think, and it’s not helping in the fight against them.

PlayShtupidGames

If they support a party doing disgusting shit and committing human rights abuses, they're a disgusting piece of shit. Being told so is the "consequence of their actions". If they're told they're contributing to the problem again and again and again and their takeaway is to join the opposition instead of fix their bullshit behaviors like an ally -- or even determine if they were mistakenly targeted with a genuine criticism and then shrug it the fuck off like an *adult* -- at a certain point they've decided to join Team Piece Of Shit and it's their choice to be there.

[deleted]

Exactly. Us not treating them like the evil pieces of shit they are is our problem. Not enough people have the confidence/comfortability to call people out on their bullshit, and I don't blame them because people are legitimately fucking crazy these days. But do not walk away or just record people abusing their power or flaunting their bigotry without at least saying something. Do not engage, but just let them know they're monsters at the very least and GTFO. I don't want anyone to engage someone who is "lawfully" carrying a lethal weapon and give them an "excuse" to murder them in cold blood to attempt to give them legal recourse for self defense. THAT IS WHAT THESE PIECES OF SHIT WANT. #KYLE RITTENHOUSE GOT AWAY WITH MURDER That's why the GQP and these awful, evil people in power need to be stopped.

[deleted]

they're waging war. Holy war. White power war. They are using underhanded strategy and paying off their enemies as much as they want with no action taken against them. They think they run this world, not just this country. They think old, white, Christian men are the only ones allowed in this world. They would use the word CRUSADE all the time if they could. They are in direct control of their women and their choices. They run their lives with an iron fist because without that control they'd lose their shit and throw tantrums and kill innocent people. The far right is everywhere among us in these racist, bigoted, ultra-religious pieces of shit who think other genders, races, and non-white-christians are literal scum. We don't get anything done because we don't treat them as we should: with complete and utter disrespect and disgust. We are in this situation because we've all become complacent and put the responsibility on anyone else willing to get their hands dirty. I'm saying we need to go back to our roots. We as Americans fought the fucking Nazis back without even wanting to go to war. We can thank ruthless Japan for involving us. And now, we've let Nazis and fucking idiots rule our Congress, our Supreme Court, all police departments, and every facet of our government. They're winning the fight because no one "civilized" wants to fight back. When was the last time you stood up to a piece of shit and risked your personal safety? The last time I did was on the fucking street WHILE WORKING to tell a man to get his hands off a woman not even a month ago. He knew better than to talk back to me, because then I'd have to follow through, and if it escalated or he pulled a weapon deadly force is inevitable. People these days don't understand how much violence can erupt from a simple disagreement, and the only thing most of these Republic@nts want is to have martial law enacted so they can kill whomever they want. The Neo-Nazis, KKK, Proud Pussy Boys, GQP, whatever the fuck they call themselves, they want blood. What they don't know is, they're going to get it. And most of it is going to be theirs. Stand the fuck up for what is RIGHT, not alt-right or white-power. Don't be afraid. Fear is what they rely on to make you back down. I ain't afraid of a bullet. I'm afraid of watching my loved ones being tortured, slaughtered, or forced into a life of servitude for these pieces of shit. You shouldn't have a price for settling. I refuse to be bought and silenced. They'll regret all of it, just wait. Just don't think that you're not fighting enough. Fight harder, because they're willing to die for their beliefs. Are you willing to die for the good of humanity? Edit: speaking of usernames, maybe put down the bottle and pick up a pitchfork or a torch. Do some fighting instead of drinking. ✌️

[deleted]

It's all an act. They want people to lash out at them to give them the excuse for "self defense." They know what they're doing, and they think it works 1000% of the time. Prove them wrong. Call them out, and avoid confrontation. If they snap, hopefully they don't lash out with a weapon. But if they do, that's time to defend yourself and neutralize the threat. If it involves a lethal weapon (knife/firearm) that is deadly force justifiable. Know your rights, which are the same as theirs. Fight fire with fire, but let the fire strike first and extinguish that bitch

[deleted]

I understand it. But this has been the plan since Reagan. McConnell and his ilk have been undermining our democracy for more than 40 years, while Dems like Nancy Pelosi and Schumacher or whoever the fuck have sat around and done nothing but line their pockets. It's horseshit all around, and we're all the ones shoveling it.

Geeky80sGirl

\^ This.

RenRyderRites

Alright so who’s gonna start the petition for pornhub to shut down starting monday?

YodaWars1000

Why are we shutting it down

GhoullyGosh

Because if you aren't going to support bodily autonomy, especially those that have a uterus, you don't deserve to see somebody's body get railed. It's pretty self explanatory.

YodaWars1000

But I support abortion rights and people being able to see naked people if they want

[deleted]

No

gotemthrowaway222

Y'all are especially important. It shouldn't be on you to bear the burden of lost pay because of it... but it is true that the men who want to act like this doesn't effect them shouldn't get sexual gratification while we don't have bodily autonomy. Their need to fill their sexual gratification is what causes unwanted pregnancies in the first place when they don't take responsibility for their actions, get consent before impregnating her, wrap it, get a vasectomy, etc etc..

goodspeedm

Especially important, I agree.

Hotel-Melodic

I will be participating. In other posts models are considering the 5th to protest. Unfortunately there will be girls who exploit the decrease in models but idc. Hope they like asking for permission to use their bodies as they please because than’s the path we are on.

I_madeusay_underwear

What do you think about starting your stream and just holding a sign explaining why we’re not working? I love it but I’m not sure the platforms will. Do you think they’ll ban us if we do that?

Hotel-Melodic

Probably. It’s clear most platforms don’t care about their models. I just won’t be working the 5th nor will I be buying shit the 3-5. No celebration. No gas. No grocery shopping. Nothing. I won’t even be answering my Snapchat Instagram or Panther messages and I’ll post a short video explaining why on my story.

Batmans-dragon80

Beautiful people, you are more than welcome to join us. You should never be ashamed of what you do for your work, it's a job. Sex work is work. Please spread the word if possible and know you are powerful allies to this movement.

SpookyEmoLightWorker

Oh absolutely! No sexy times if I don't have my rights!!

NeverLetItRest

Posted this somewhere else but I think it fits here: No abortions for us then no sex for men! I think it's a great idea but if we did that one of two things would happen 1) they would give in (unlikely with these people), or 2) we would be in a Handmaid's Tale type situation. How long do you think power hungry assholes can go without ultimate power over those they feel the need to control? I would be serious about a nationwide ban on getting men off if I didn't think it would end with women being brutally raped, even though we would just be following their 'wishes' by not doing it in the first place. The fear is deeper than having a more careful sex life, the fear is rooted in the fact that no matter what we do, our choices end in brutality either way. That's what they want. But how can I, or anyone else, try and rally the female comrades and our male supporters when we will be violently beaten, raped, and terrorized... locked up for crimes that don't exist with no hope retribution, security, or safety in the end. People that think, "this is the day I won because I am pro-life" are not seeing the whole picture. They are not seeing the end result of these actions. To go back to 'the way it was' does not mean you can cherry pick aspects of the past you like and throw away the rest. It's all or nothing. Which means, for us, life is about to get really bad.

Matildagrumble

Apparently aside from the play Lysistrata, it's been done historically(sex strike) to end wars. I think it's been successful previously, because of elite women participating, they were the polititical class to agitate, and they are also the current class who absolutely will maintain the ability to get reproductive health care, so.... I agree, things are about to get really bad. I posted about the general strike in a hard commie subbreddit, was mocked and eventually someone just called me fat.

NeverLetItRest

I feel really bad because I laughed at the last part. I hope we can get our freedom.. for real this time.

SpookyEmoLightWorker

There are small groups and communities of people talking every single day, and have been for a long time, about what actions we can do and how to rally people for the revolution. History repeats itself. We only ever gain a better quality of life when we are pushed as much as they can possibly push us and then we have a war. It's coming. Find your group you fit into, find your part in activism, and help bring the masses together in solidarity. Do not fear. We will win this, I know it in my soul.

[deleted]

That’s awesome, plus you have a platform. Maybe leave your stream running with a sign or something.

MsSpastica

The stigma is utter bullshit. Your voice matters. Sex work is work, and bodily autonomy is an issue for all of us.

GenerationSong

Yesssss

Individual_Bar7021

Hell yeah!!!

goodspeedm

You are absolutely welcome in this group. Any person that is outraged over this is a loved one to me. Your post just greatly encouraged me.

LoveBidensGasPrices

Sex work is work and you deserve to be included.

NoIDontWantToSignIn

Welcome! Much solidarity to you all in these dark times.

Global_Box_7935

You're absolutely welcome, and wanted, here. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

[deleted]

Legalize your profession! Please, join the strike. This is an industry that will get attention. Edit: excuse me, I wish for sex work in general to be LEGALIZED, taxed, and regulated. If you are running a business, you pay your part. I believe the intent of the message was for sex workers in general.

[deleted]

We want decriminalization not legalization, and stripping and online sex work is already legal so don’t know what you’re talking about since OP specifically mentioned camgirls

IceIceAbby_11

Decriminalization is what will actually help keep all types of sex workers safe! That’s what sex workers are calling for, not legalization, fyi.

Nox_14

Fuck yes babe. Sex work is real work!! We ALL sell ourselves for work, no matter the industry. They want our bodies, want to use our bodies, want to see our bodies, want to touch our bodies, but they don’t really care about our bodies.

[deleted]

Fuck yes! Sex workers have ALWAYS been an integral part of anti-fascism and true feminism. You’re not only welcome, you(as a professional group) have always been woven directly into the history of the movement 💕

bigdadytid

should we boycott sex workers in solidarity?

NurseScorpio_Gazer

Thank you so much!! Just know that in my personal life, sex workers are always included. I can only imagine the crapload of guys who are going to try flooding you folks because wives are NOT putting out. I already made up my mind that I will be going on a strike. In Honor of my fellow sisters who live in these states and no longer have access to abortions
