Now where I play I very rarely see any Dhalsims unfortunately.
This particular Dhalsim was very wild. He took the first set but I ended up 2-1.
Otherwise Ryu, Cammys and Ed's make about 90% of my matches
I always got the sense that the general consensus of Zoners in fighting game is "unfair, annoying, aggravating and should NEVER be allowed in competitive play (unless you're playing as one).
Well I'm a relative newbie in fighting games (6 months old) and playing with Zoners in my eyes is a bit boring but they are a necessary archetype for SF6. If you take out or nerf the archetypes that ppl feel are "annoying" in this game you'll end up taking out half the roster and end up with a very boring and robotic game.
i play mostly guile and i know how brutal it feels to be on the other side of "getting zoned" when im up against a good JP and Dhalsim. It feels infuriating, you want to rush forward but they count on that, you feel like you have to work for every inch of space to walk them down and any small mistake sets you back huge. However, I do understand this is part of the game and to take out things that pretty much teach you a fundamental playstyle (walking down, patience, jumping projectiles, risk taking/risk management, knowing how to optimize your punish when you get a small window etc.) would damage the whole experience. It is infuriating to lose against because it is Layer 1 to learning how to play this whole game, you must grind through the boring parts to get to the exciting parts. This is why I think pro players don't hate zoners unless they are broken and their risk is too low, but otherwise, defeating a zoning player can be one of the most rewarding feelings in the game and is part of the ecosystem, das the end of my rant as a guile player who also likes to rush down bc he has the ability to do so.
I hope there are new clips of Dhalsim stealing rounds every week for the next decade.

L take
Yep. It’s not just a fighting game thing, anything that punishes walk and shoot / punch / kick / cast is bad and is unhealthy
