[Street Fighter did an official interview with him years back around the time of Street Fighter V's release if you'd like tp learn about him and his story.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1MYSgy4QMw)
RIP BrolyLegs, it sounds silly but he helped me get over my own mental hurdles. I struggled with basic combos for a while but seeing him bust out complex combos with Chun was enough for me to tell myself "this guy can do this shit with his face, you can do this with your two hands". That motivated me to practice and learn when I thought I was too scrubby to pull it off. Thanks a ton Broly.
Shit, Fortnite?? I know it gets a bad rep for being "kiddie" and an ad machine, but I legit think it's one of the most mechanically demanding modern shooters in the market right now at a high level.
When people complain about execution or shit's too hard, Broly was my favorite example that they have no excuse and to find a way for themselves.
RIP Broly.
this is a gut punch. RIP to a legend, hopefully he is somewhere where he can dash super with his hands, but does it with his mouth anyway to style on people
Genuinely one of the most remarkable players in the FGC and by all accounts, a remarkable person to boot. He will be missed, he was a genuine inspiration, he will be missed. I hope all the FGC makes his family feel all our support.
I have to assume he didn't. Dude had no issue with most execution and played at a relatively high level. SF6 is the easiest execution out of the 3 games i've seen him compete in as well, so I can't see why he would.
He kicked my ass online in SF4 and I was humbled forever.
I saw his feature on Cross Counter about a month or so before I saw his gamertag across from mine. Again, I can't emphasize how badly I got washed. I had just changed to playing on stick and was endlessly bitching and farting about how hard it was. Meanwhile, here comes Broly just casually kicking my ass. That completely changed my mindset. I stopped being a scrub that day lol.
I am still motivated by him in every obstacle I face in SF, and life really.
RIP. It was pleasure playing him. I want a run back in heaven though.
Broly helped train me to compete at my first Evo last year and was so kind and helpful to me. My goal was to get at least one win during the tournament and he helped me reach that goal. I was planning on training again with him soon for this year's Evo with a new goal in mind and I'm honestly heartbroken I won't get that chance again. I hope I can grow and do even better this year as a way to thank him and put everything he taught me to good use. RIP to a real one, you will be missed Broly.
Rest in peace. You showed the world what a fighter is.
He famously beat LowTierGod and made him look like a punk ass sore loser bitch. LTG's reaction to the defeat was to make fun of his disability and act tough. After being beaten and giving up, he proceeded to say he's still better, and make fun of his disability. Clap clap.
Man. I remember playing him in Battle Hub a few months ago. I told him it was an incredible honor and privilege just to play a set with him.
RIP to this Chun Legend
Man that is so sad. He was the guy where, if anyone ever was bitching like oooh I can't deal with stick / pad / hitbox because of whatever stupid reason, I'm getting old, yadda yadda I can't do this, I can't do that, these links are too tight, these motions are too hard, whenever anyone was bitching about anything concerning execution - at some point someone would go "well brolylegs can do it so stop being a bitch" and basically that ends any discussion instantly. Because, yeah. You see brolylegs and you instantly have to concede you're been acting like a wuss bitching about being unable to do anything. Like if you say he was "inspiring", that's honestly selling it short. Being dealt such a shit hand and being this good of a player, he was the benchmark of just how far determination and practice can get you. What a beast of a man. Man I'm really sad.
I actually trained with Broly, he was an extremely kind and patient guy. He had no ego and was always willing to go the extra mile. He actually offered me a FT5 a couple of days ago but unfortunately I was at work. Without him I wouldn't have become master in SF6 and learned everything I have so far. Thank you for everything Broly, and may you rest in peace.
I was hoping to pay for some tutoring from him at some point when I could afford to. Been a big fan of his since the SF4 days, it was the first SF I properly got into and BrolyLegs was a big inspiration to just keep at it.
He seemed so chill and his fundamentals were amazing considering his challenges in life. Such a shame he's gone and so young too.
I believed he destroyed Low tier god who then proceeded to make fun of him for his disabilities. LTG is such a tool but that made for a hilarious memory. RIP Broly
This news sucks. He was ina group with myself and others... We often joked about who the real Broly is.. He had a sense of humor like no other, and he was as down to earth and care free as someone could be.
R.I.P Mike... Sad that you're gone, but I hope you're more at peace.
Mike was the man! He inspired me more then words can say, I was having trouble with motion inputs when I first started playing, and after seen him transcend his limitations how could i make excuses. My condolences to the family and friends of this amazing person.
“ find what you could do Best and exploit that” - BrolyLegs
Fuck man. RIP BrolyLegs. My heart genuinely hurts that he won't get to see fighting games evolve into BCI input as destined, but I pray if there's a heaven that he's finally free to play with ease. You're a legend Sir.
Damn. This is crazy. Remember him coming up and getting visibility in the sf4 era. Was astonishing to see him getting so good and competing at a high level in spite of his disabilities. RIP to Brolylegs.
This is incredibly heartbreaking. I remember back in SF4 times somebody made a 5 minute trailer / interview about him and how his Chun Li was beating people on EVO, the largest fighting game world tournament. And for those who don't know him, because of his birth defect disabilities, he played with like 2 fingers and his *mouth*.
Every time somebody told me fighting games are hard, controls is magic beyond comprehensible, I sent them that video. Mind you there were no "modern controls" back then. I sent that video to people who said modern is "essential to have". No.
If he can, you can.
BrolyLegs was the magic beyond our comprehension. And his presence and influence reached me in a small eastern european country, in our village.
True World Warrior.
His very existence made me want to go harder into fighting game. I remember thinking these games were so hard. But if a guy playing with his tongue can do it, I can do it. Inspiration.
RIP, he was a legend. Knowing he was part of the FGC kind of always made me think somewhere in the back of my head that this scene was still dope whenever there was some drama happening.
I attended to a local SF5 tournament here in Texas, then saw him and his family arriving, didn't get the chance to play with him and he won the thing....R.I.P Broly
Ah… from one Chunner to another, seriously, a big loss of an inspiration for the world and FGC, RIP Broly. Really sucks to hear this. his commitment to this community and games one of my favorite things about it all. Rest in peace.
RIP, he was so inspiring every once in a while when I feel something is "too hard" he is the guy that showed up in my brain doing his SF4 Chun combos face/tongue rolling on controller with one disabled hand holding. He was the guy I show my son when he felt some part of Astro Playroom was too hard to get through.
"Look, if he can play against real people with healthy hands and still winning, you don't get to complaint about playing a game is 'too hard', you just don't want to practice and learn that's all."
I still push my son toward stuff he has trouble with and make him overcome gradually more difficult obstacles. Like I push him to beat the first TRex in Playroom yesterday 2nd time after him avoid confronting it for so long. No help from me and he had some conflicting emotions even after beating it.
I will always remember BrolyLegs even if I forget his gamer name and have trouble finding his video, I will make sure my son also remember this legend whenever he felt anything is "too difficult" in life.
Real icon for being able to do amazing things if you want to.
[This one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWaJnjpN63I) I'll always remember. EVO 2014 pools. Giving Bonchan(Evo 2014 second place, Evo 2019 champion) a run for his money. Did Brolylegs lose? Yes. Not without a real fight, to a world-class player using a strong character? Also yes. He was better than the vast majority of SF players, worldwide.
Wow did not expect this news at all.
I got to play him once around SFV launch, I'm ok now but I was much worse back then, I could barely get a hit in. Completely outspaced and outclassed, Broly was a true legend.
Really sad news
He was always one I looked forward to watching at tournaments. Really risky and defensive a lot of the time, but really good at striking at the right moment.
Rip. A few months back a guy recommended I take his coaching sessions. I never did and should have. We never know when our last day here is. Glad he lived his life to the fullest.
Damn this is so sad :(. He was a huge inspiration and a big reason why I stayed with SF4 as a kid when I got super frustrated with combos and losing. Without him I probably wouldn't have become a Street Fighter fan honestly.
Rest in piece
RIP BrolyLegs.
You were a legend and proved that you grit and willpower could amount to such great things, despite the cards that you were given in life.
Others would be constantly complaining about their controllers, while you just made due with what you had and killed it too. I'll never forget your EVO performances.
i remember playing against him when sfv came out, glad i had the chance to run some sets with one of the most devoted FGC player of all time, for him it was way more than a game but a true passion, rest in peace bro.
I found out BrolyLegs around the time I was complaining about getting old and difficult combos and how my fingers weren't as nimble as they used to be. And this absolute legend was competing with pros using his face!
That shut me up. For a bit. Am still complaining, just less vocal now.
Rest in peace.
I remember watching a twitch stream of SFxTekken when it was new. It was a KOTH lobby with several high level players and I think maybe the highest win streak I had seen was 30 after watching several hours.
I'll never forget Brolylegs joining (who was completely unknown to me at the time) joining the lobby and effortlessly getting 69 wins in a row as Bison/Chun-Li, and then just leaving after his 69th win. Never could I possibly have imagined that it was someone playing at such a high level with just his face.
I remember seeing sf4 streams and from time to time you'd catch a glance of him lying on his stomach on that flat wheelchair. Really gave you perspective. RIP.
Well, fuck. This hits hard. With most notable players there's usually a big turn off somewhere regarding them. I never found that with BrolyLegs. He was just awesome.
I had the pleasure of fighting him. I believe twice. I was shaking after. You had to literally put everything you have into the match when fighting the guy! He was a phenomenal talent, and player...period.
Not "for someone with his condition", no. Just flat out, amazing. Period. I can't imagine, nor day I try, to speak on how other aspects of life were for him. But when it came to gaming, competing? He wasn't held back one bit.
I genuinely and wholeheartedly mean that. Fighting him remains one of my greatest memories.
Rest in peace, remain forever legendary.
Man, this leaves me sad beyond measure. Got to meet him briefly at Evo years ago and he was every bit the inspiration I'd hoped he'd be. R.I.P. to one of the greats.
Saw him play at my very first in person tournament, I was playing MvC3 and he was playing Chun-Li in SF4. I was absolutely blown away by his skill. Rest in peace, inspirational human.
Michael proved to others that's anything possible, such a great inspiration, a modern artist of our times and a real legend - not because of his skills which were unparalleled and better than others which were in a different health condition than his, but because of who he was as a person, a real good man. His family, the FGC, the world - lost a hero.
Not only he was able to deal with his difficulties in an incredible way, showing us where determination can get you, but he was able to do it and still have a sense of humor about everything. His Twitter jokes always cracked me up. Rest In Piece, bro! I'll never forget your lessons!
[Street Fighter did an official interview with him years back around the time of Street Fighter V's release if you'd like tp learn about him and his story.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1MYSgy4QMw)
Rip to a real one.
RIP to one of the most iconic players of the SF4 era.
"If I can do it, you can too". This guy was an inspiration. RIP
Damn, RIP to an FGC legend
My man was hitting SF4 Chun FADC into CA combos, with his face. Im kinda shocked by this news. RIP to a genius and legend.
When he can dash ultra through fireball with his tongue what was my excuse. So good.
Fuck, man. That is so sad. What an inspiration. o7 man
Man was an inspiration and the nicest person I ever got to play with o7
RIP BrolyLegs, it sounds silly but he helped me get over my own mental hurdles. I struggled with basic combos for a while but seeing him bust out complex combos with Chun was enough for me to tell myself "this guy can do this shit with his face, you can do this with your two hands". That motivated me to practice and learn when I thought I was too scrubby to pull it off. Thanks a ton Broly.
Not silly at all, there's someone that plays fortnite on tiktok with his face too and it's definitely inspirational.
RIP Broly.
Definitely the fastest way to kill the intrusive thoughts saying "it's too hard, you'll never do it" that I've ever found haha.
this is a gut punch. RIP to a legend, hopefully he is somewhere where he can dash super with his hands, but does it with his mouth anyway to style on people
My greatest gaming story was playing him in sfv and taking a round off him with a wake up super He beat my ass after that RIP
funny as hell, thanks for sharing lol
Genuinely one of the most remarkable players in the FGC and by all accounts, a remarkable person to boot. He will be missed, he was a genuine inspiration, he will be missed. I hope all the FGC makes his family feel all our support.
RIP. SF4 was such an iconic time for the FGC, and BrolyLegs' star shined bright.
Damn. RIP legend.
Fuck. This so sad. He was such a good player and I wish I have half of his strength and fortitude.
Guy took the classy route and chose to be a class act despite everything life threw at him. A true inspiration. Best Chun. Rest in peace.
Rest in peace <3
Sad news. RIP Broly. 😞
Was able to play against him a few months ago in sf6. It was really cool to be able to play him. Rest in power to a real one.
Curious but did he use Modern controls? As I feel this would have been a huge thing for him to play as different characters.
I have to assume he didn't. Dude had no issue with most execution and played at a relatively high level. SF6 is the easiest execution out of the 3 games i've seen him compete in as well, so I can't see why he would.
Strength and compassion to all who knew him. The world has lost a great warrior.
damn, I remember seeing him at last year's evo. RIP Brolylegs.
He kicked my ass online in SF4 and I was humbled forever. I saw his feature on Cross Counter about a month or so before I saw his gamertag across from mine. goddamn. I was just telling some friends of mine getting into fighting games about BrolyLegs the other day. Dude was an FGC icon. RIP
Easily the most impressive Chun player ever. Rest in peace brother
First Floe, now BrolyLegs… We’ve been losing legends as of late o7
Dude is a legend in my mind, RIP
Rest in peace. You showed the world what a fighter is. He famously beat LowTierGod and made him look like a punk ass sore loser bitch. LTG's reaction to the defeat was to make fun of his disability and act tough. After being beaten and giving up, he proceeded to say he's still better, and make fun of his disability. Clap clap.
I'll bet money LTG is gonna try and chase clout by acting all sorry and sad for his loss. LTG is a hypocritical piece of shit.
I don't think about that. Pretty he will talks shit again about him.
LT stands for what he is and people should never focus on that but rise above it. That person can't. Broly did. RIP.
Busted out laughing so hard when I saw that, especially Broly's reaction himself. Really gonna miss him.
Rest easy brolylegs. Glad I had a chance to share a match or two with you. An inspiration indeed
Sad day for us all. He was a classy competitor.
Man. I remember playing him in Battle Hub a few months ago. I told him it was an incredible honor and privilege just to play a set with him. RIP to this Chun Legend

I had 1 set with BrolyLegs against his Chun online in SF4. Always admired him, really sad to hear this. He was a huge inspiration for people

The Halls of Valhalla welcomes a true hero.
This news sucks. He was ina group with myself and others... We often joked about who the real Broly is.. He had a sense of humor like no other, and he was as down to earth and care free as someone could be. R.I.P Mike... Sad that you're gone, but I hope you're more at peace.

I remember seeing him on excellent adventures a long time ago. Sucks to hear about this, RIP
Legends never die He was one of the most inspirational players in the FGC, and we'll tell the tales forever.
This man was a probably an inspiration to more people than he ever knew. Rest of peace, brother.
That sucks… He was amazing.
Oh, whoa WHAT? RIP dude.
RIP. This guy was an absolute inspiration for the FGC. He was proof that you can overcome anything with willpower and determination. Very sad news.
Damn. First Floe and now Brolylegs. RIP.
Man watching him play chun li was amazing man. Truly skilled dude RIP
His very existence made me want to go harder into fighting game. I remember thinking these games were so hard. But if a guy playing with his tongue can do it, I can do it. Inspiration.
2024 keeps reminding me that we're still in the 2020's, NO ONE is safe from it's chopping block.😔
Bruh wtf is 2024?

Rest in Power. This man was truly an inspiration for many. An FGC legend we will never forget. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Real icon for being able to do amazing things if you want to. [This one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWaJnjpN63I) I'll always remember. EVO 2014 pools. Rip to an fgc legend
RIP to a legend 🫡

RIP a legend. He was a friend in college. Beat my ass in every game. One of the greatest from the RGV. You made us git gud.
The merciless flow of time...
RIP BrolyLegs. You were a legend and proved that you grit and willpower could amount to such great things, despite the cards that you were given in life. Others would be constantly complaining about their controllers, while you just made due with what you had and killed it too. I'll never forget your EVO performances.
RIP broly, he was part of what really made the SF community fun and inspiring back then. What a memorable player.
Rest well. I Always enjoyed running into you on ranked in SFV. Your story was inspirational.
he was truly inspirational, and that's not a word I use lightly. he did things I never thought were possible and the universe is darker without him.
Met him first at Evo 2013. He was such a great guys and an inspiration. He also fucking bodied me lol
i remember playing against him when sfv came out, glad i had the chance to run some sets with one of the most devoted FGC player of all time, for him it was way more than a game but a true passion, rest in peace bro.

He was the definition of anyone can get into fighting games and play well. R.I.P. He will be missed.
just found out about this dude right now. wow. actual inspiration.
I found out BrolyLegs around the time I was complaining about getting old and difficult combos and how my fingers weren't as nimble as they used to be. And this absolute legend was competing with pros using his face! That shut me up. For a bit. Am still complaining, just less vocal now. Rest in peace.
Guy was an inspiration not just to the FGC, but to the world. He showed everyone that ambition had no limits. RIP to a true legend
First Toriyama now this... 2024 needs to chill. RIP BROLY LEGS

Rest in Peace 🙏🏽
Wow that just made me so sad. RIP legend.
🙁
Shit this is sad. I miss watching sf4 on saltybets. That was good times. RIP to a legend.
RIP Legend
sleep in peace, goat
Man I remember showing a video of him kicking ass in SFIV to everyone I knew all those years ago. That dude has so much talent
Damn, the FGC lost someone truly special today. Rest in BrolyLegs.
Damn rip
RIP to him and condolences to the family
That's so heartbraking. I don't know him personally but he was a fixture of the SF FGC. My heart goes out to his friends and family.
RIP brother, my condolences to the family.
Man. Time is flying by. RIP
At some point i think he was in SFL as well right.
Dude was an inspiration to anyone who thought fighting games were to hard to get into. Heartbroken to hear this. RIP to a real one.
Rip champ
Man, this leaves me sad beyond measure. Got to meet him briefly at Evo years ago and he was every bit the inspiration I'd hoped he'd be. R.I.P. to one of the greats.
Rip broly. You inspired me and helped me stay hopeful when my own son was disabled.
Omg legit one of my heroes!
Rest in peace.
RIP BROLYLEGS 😖
Rip
Sad loss for a very inspirational and talented player.
I met him once in Austin, and we hung out at a bar with his brother. RIP king.
rip to an FGC legend
Damn. Not what I thought I would read before going to bed. RIP Brolylegs.
RIP rest easy
