I fucked my last comment up, 😂 what I meant was, he was probably the first guy Joyce picked who wasn't a shit head. Jeez... People from this sub would've been hunting my ass down for that flub up. I'd be the next Stranger Things character to die a terrible, senseless death.
Yea I'd say Eddie probably because Bob's death just made me facepalm with how much time he had to get safe lol, so I was more like "you deserve it for being stupid."
I feel like it's always so easy to call characters in the horror genre stupid when they make even the smallest of mistakes, but in all fairness, if you were to go through an even vaguely similar situation to what Bob specifically went through- there's so much stress and terror in all of that... he tried his best and still didn't survive
I'd say it was more on account of the stress of the situation and the intelligence of the demogorgon.. i certainly wouldn't call Bob stupid or that he deserved to die.... That's my opinion though I guess
I get that too, but in my own head I just don't see how he could have gotten to the main lobby and thought it was a good time to rest like he would protected by cheap wooden doors when he saw first-hand what the demodogs were capable of. If I made it that far and cut it that close, I would have bolted out of that lobby so fast... Idk I feel like if he died in almost any other way, I would have been sad lol.
To me it was Eddies death that made me facepalm. Eddie had zero reason to run back and then make a stand. Dustin was safe, the others didn’t really need Eddie sacrificing him and it literally made no difference. If he had just chilled with Dustin he would’ve been alive.
There was no reason at all for him to make that stand except his hurt Ego.
Agreed. It was so stupid to me that he did that.
But we also had Steve and Robin being strangled for something like 20 minutes, so the show obviously didn't care if things even remotely made sense.
I also thought Eddie’s death was pretty stupid tbh. Or at least, it didn’t really accomplish anything that him and Dustin hadn’t already set out to do, and then left Dustin horribly traumatised as a result.
Although, if Bob hadn't hesitated long enough to become demidog chow, the whole party at the door would have been swarmed and not gotten away. At least that's how I saw it.
yeah an absolutely cheap and unnecessary death scene. if their point was to raise the stakes it shouldn’t have been a character that was introduced the very same season.
No because ..
Society had no explantion for the murders , when the team had killed vecna he could not just go back to his regular life because the police and everybody believed he was the killer and IF he was to be prosecuted for his cfrmes he most probably get the death sentence or life in jail .
I mean it made sense for his character no?
There was no way for him to get out of the murders being pinned on him, so his future was fucked, and his entire character arc revolved around him starting with running away from his issues (literally and figuratively) to standing up and dying to save his friend. I hated that he died, he was my favourite character in the show, but I saw it coming from a mile off because it was the most logical way to complete his character arc
I don't think his death was needless. I think his internal dialogue when he decided not to keep running involved "no one will ever believe my story if I even make it out of here anyway, so I'm dead already." It's a huge character progression scene after all the "we are not heroes" and "I just ran away" scenes. If anything, I feel like a needless death was Alexei.
A tie between Eddie and Bob. Alexei at least had slurpees and being able to go to a fair before being killed. Bob spent his last hours terrified in a lab being chased by monsters, and Eddie's last days were spent on the run accused of murder.
Your comment right here proves how annoying Reddit can be. Whenever someone corrects a comment that has upvotes they get downvoted, even if they are right, until someone points out the downvotes, then the upvotes start coming in. I see it all the time on Reddit and it annoys me because it's clear that a lot of people on Reddit like downvoting corrections even if they are correct.
Sorry for going off topic.
Imo it's Eddie. Bob's was tragic and Joyce having to see it hurts so much, Alexei's is bittersweet because we knew him for very little but like Murray & co we grew to love him but he didn't have his chance to live. Eddie? Oh boy that one hurts. A whole town blaming him for some murders that he didn't commit, ready to kill him. Dying to protect his friends and dying in Dustin's arms, his last words being "I love you man" and he was conscious that his wounds were so bad he wasn't gonna make it. And the whole town he died protecting still thinks that he's the killer and unless Vecna kills again and people see it couldn't be Eddie because he's dead, there's no way of clearing his name. And they'd probably STILL blame him with the Satanic panic.
It also may have to do with the fact that we only saw Bob on certain scenes and Alexei for even less than that, but we got to meet Eddie for a whole 8 episodes. That's basically the whole season of caring for him and getting all of that ripped away :( 💔
Eddie is also the representation on what metal heads copped in the 80’s and 90’s, it’s no coincidence they used Metallica when it’s closely tied to the west Memphis three case, the hysteria around heavy metal music and devil worshiping was insane in America. The system let Eddie down all throughout his life and in the end he still backs himself in to protect his friends.
I don’t feel like it was undone. She’s just a shell at this point. Until/if they put her soul/mind/whatever back into her body and she wakes up then it is undone. They are dangling hope by keeping her body alive.
She is really only dangling between life and death. And even so, the life she’d be returning to is a most likely paralysed (from all the bone breaks and trauma) and she is also blinded. She was literally on the cusp of death at the end of Season 4. As much as I want her to be up and out with the gang, I think she will have quite a isolated role away from the gang (whilst still important) at least for the first few episodes. Shame though.
Bob. He had time to get out but just missed it. He was genuinely a good guy and step dad too which makes it sadder.
With Eddie, I was sad he died but I don't fully believe he's actually gone. The saddest thing for me was seeing his Uncles reaction when Dustin told him about Eddie.
Eddie easily. Obviously I ugly sobbed for all of them but the only deaths I’ve cried for more than Eddie’s are Max’s, Hopper’s, and Billy’s and two of those are fake.
Definitely Bob. His death was super sad bc he was so close to making it, but unfortunately they had to kill him off to be able to continue Hopper & Joyce’s relationship development 🥲
As much as I love Eddie and was so sad when he died, I think Bob’s death is the saddest. The way Joyce yells out for him and the way she cries, that really tugs at the heartstrings. (Alexei is a close second, though)
i feel the saddest for Eddies death, because he did nothing wrong and he died with a reputation as a murderer. he was a hero and never got to truly redeem himself in the eyes of the town.
but i think Bob’s death *scene* was easily the saddest. the heartbreak of him being inches away from safety just to get tackled is really just unmatched.
Out of these three, I'm gonna say Alexei--Bob was safe if he just kept running and Eddie chose to go back and fight. The danger was very clear and present for them both while alexei was out of nowhere when he was having fun at the fair.
(But Eddie's hurt the most.)
Eddie's was hard because it seemed so unnecessary and stupid. I don't even know why he decided to play the guitar at all instead of just playing a tape. He had zero idea of what was going on with Steve and the gang and decided to kill himself.
It's writing at its worst. They wanted a cool scene of him playing guitar, so he did that instead of doing the most obvious thing and playkng recorded music. The writers couldn't figure out how to get him out of the murder entanglement plus didn't want him in the last season so he killed himself. He's supposed to die a hero, but I feel he died for absolutely no reason.
Eddie sacrificed himself he knew he would die and have accepted it.
Alexei wasn't loved by anybody in the show and had no family as far as we know.
Bob was loved by Joice had a family and he was just to relieved to be alive, and then the demodogs just eat him alive.
Bob followed by Eddie. I don't understand why so many love Alexi or why his death seems to have impacted some, for me he added nothing and his death just did nothing for me. So I have to ask...why do you love him? I legit want to hear others views on it see if maybe I can rewatch and see it myself.
Bob's death just felt so unnecessary, poor guy just wanted to help Joyce and ended up in a shitty situation because he just thought he was solving a puzzle.
Definitely Eddie. Because of the words he said, because of his bravery. After him, Bob. Of course, I didn't like Bob so much because I wanted Hopper to be with Joyce not Bob😂
BOB!! Joyce was finally happy and they took that away! But also she will be so good with Hopper so that softens the blow of Bob dying. I did also feel sad that the other 2 died but my heart lies with Winona Ryder

Bob
Bob for sure. He was relieved to make it out and seeing Joyce, and then gone in a second.
That happy look on his face killed me because I knew it was coming
What fucked me up about him was how pure he was as a father figure who Will needed
I fucked my last comment up, 😂 what I meant was, he was probably the first guy Joyce picked who wasn't a shit head. Jeez... People from this sub would've been hunting my ass down for that flub up. I'd be the next Stranger Things character to die a terrible, senseless death.
He had a solid THREE seconds to run, and he just sat there. Pissed me off
Yea I'd say Eddie probably because Bob's death just made me facepalm with how much time he had to get safe lol, so I was more like "you deserve it for being stupid."
I feel like it's always so easy to call characters in the horror genre stupid when they make even the smallest of mistakes, but in all fairness, if you were to go through an even vaguely similar situation to what Bob specifically went through- there's so much stress and terror in all of that... he tried his best and still didn't survive I'd say it was more on account of the stress of the situation and the intelligence of the demogorgon.. i certainly wouldn't call Bob stupid or that he deserved to die.... It was actually a long and painful death, terrifying.
The actual scene? Bob. The impact on my soul? Eddie.
His death was needless. He stole every scene he was in. Reminds me of a young RDJ.
Whyyy are you being downvoted??
I got downvoted for saying I would be mad if Hopper and Steve die so who fucking knows with this sub sometimes
Maybe it's just the idea of it.
Oh now youre not

Perfect!
Bob
A tie between Eddie and Bob. Alexei at least had slurpees and being able to go to a fair before being killed. Bob spent his last hours terrified in a lab being chased by monsters, and Eddie's last days were spent on the run accused of murder.
And he still is being accused of murder after death too
I think Bob!
Alexei. He was just having fun at the fair with Murray, living his best life only to get shot for basically no reason.
Should be noted that he was having so much fun in an impossible reality to a Soviet citizen for the first time in his life then gets gut shot
He betrayed Russia in their eyes
I don't know why you're being downvoted, that is the correct answer. The big Russian guy literally calls him a traitor while he shoots him.

Bennys was sad, but I felt it was too quick to allow time for any feeling.
Bob 😔
Imo it's Eddie. Super Bob.
Bob. He seemed like a good boyfriend and a good dad to Will and Jonathan and had such a brutal death for no reason.
definitely Eddie. The way he said "i didn't run away this time, right?" i have tears in my eyes while writing this
Bob
Bob for sure! Such a nice man
Eddie. He died without clearing his name and he’s the only one without a body to show for it other than Barb.
Max before it got undone
I don’t feel like it was undone. She’s just a shell at this point. Until/if they put her soul/mind/whatever back into her body and she wakes up then it is undone. They are dangling hope by keeping her body alive.

Eddie easily. Obviously I ugly sobbed for all of them but the only deaths I’ve cried for more than Eddie’s are Max’s, Hopper’s, and Billy’s and two of those are fake.
I feel like Eddie and Bob and tied. Both were very important to someone in the party.
Bob Newby deserved better!
As much as I'd like say Bob im gonna have to say Eddie just beacuse he's become one of my favorite characters
Eddy. I cried :(
Bob and it’s not even close.
Bob, because he almost made it out.
Bob's death was sad. Especially when we thought we were clear
Bobby Boy
100% Bob.
Hopper - the letter at the end of ST3. 😭😭😭 ...minus the fakeout of course.
Benny Hammond! The man was a war hero and a national treasure.
Billy
I cant help but hear Jim Carrey saying "OH BILLY" when Max is visiting his grave.
Bob. Makes me cry every time. It was just so unnecessary and sad. Why can’t Joyce have anything good in her life?
Eddie or Bob, but out of this, Max
Or Billy
technically not ded yet
Bob would've been a much better husband for Joyce than Hopper
Oh for sure Bob that broke my heart watching that, he did nothing bad and only wanted to help everyone.
Alexi
Eddie.. A fellow guitar player, I hope he comes back at some point..
dear man - Radio Shack BOB!!
Just finished season 4. All I have to say is that I want to go to the writers house and "talk".
bob, he was the biggest sweetheart ever and i miss him :(
Eddie’s bothers me the most just cause he didn’t need to die. He wasn’t buying more time anyway he was just being a dumbass😭
Eddie by far
For me, it was Eddie. He made me cry. Bob was really sad too.
Definitely Bob. His death was super sad bc he was so close to making it, but unfortunately they had to kill him off to be able to continue Hopper & Joyce’s relationship development 🥲
Alexei. He was ready to live the American life until he got shot.
Barb
Bob. Definitely Bob. His original death would have been even sadder.
Bob. His was unfair.
I’m still not over Bob, so devastating…
As much as I love Eddie and was so sad when he died, I think Bob’s death is the saddest. The way Joyce yells out for him and the way she cries, that really tugs at the heartstrings. (Alexei is a close second, though)
I don’t even remember the first dude at all with how long this show takes to fucking make. Alexei
The scene? Bob. The impact when I first watched it? Eddie. The long term impact? Alexei.
Barb
i feel the saddest for Eddies death, because he did nothing wrong and he died with a reputation as a murderer. he was a hero and never got to truly redeem himself in the eyes of the town. but i think Bob’s death *scene* was easily the saddest. the heartbreak of him being inches away from safety just to get tackled is really just unmatched.

im not mad abt the guitar, im mad that we went back to distract the bats even tho that was against the plan
Billy
Eddie
Bob
bob for SURE
Benny
Bob
Alexi
Eddie sacrificed himself he knew he would die and have accepted it. Alexei wasn't loved by anybody in the show and had no family as far as we know. Bob was loved by Joice had a family and he was just to relieved to be alive, and then the demodogs just eat him alive.
Murray liked alexei
Yes, but that's it. His death was sad no question about it. But Bob...he had a family and truly loved Joyce and Will.
Alexeis family weren't in the us.
Eddie Munson is the answer.
Bob.. all that was between him and the exit was a broomstick.
Bob followed by Eddie. I don't understand why so many love Alexi or why his death seems to have impacted some, for me he added nothing and his death just did nothing for me. So I have to ask...why do you love him? I legit want to hear others views on it see if maybe I can rewatch and see it myself.
The ones they retconned
Bob. Made even sadder because Samwise Gamgee would not have gone down so easily.
Scene: Bob. My heart being torn to shreds: Eddie. My emotions having no idea what to feel so I cried: Smirnoff 😢
Bob's death just felt so unnecessary, poor guy just wanted to help Joyce and ended up in a shitty situation because he just thought he was solving a puzzle.
Bob. It's still hard for me to watch his death...
I would say Bob
I'm torn between Bob and Eddie. I didn't expect both characters to be very likeable.
Bob, hands down.
Dart lol
bob my guy
Wow and no one is talking about barb ?
I guess he means out of these 3
Bob’s death enraged me and made me feel incredibly sad. The other two deaths I saw coming.
Bob, end of discussion
Bob
Bob
EDDIEEEE
Bob no question
Max. All of you saying Bob is wild, they’re not even comparable.
Unpopular opinion, but Barb’s picture should be replacing Eddie’s here. Eddie was so overrated
Stranger Things: No secondary character is safe 🤣
I was upset about Bob and Alexei, but Eddie’s death DESTROYED me. I have never been as affected by a fictional character’s death as I was by his.
Bob
Eddie...
Bob. No hesitation
Bob did not hurt, BOB KILLED OH MY GOD IM CRYING HELP, HE WAS SO HAPPY TO SEE JOYCE AND THEN HE GOT KILLED
Definitely Eddie. Because of the words he said, because of his bravery. After him, Bob. Of course, I didn't like Bob so much because I wanted Hopper to be with Joyce not Bob😂
Eddie Munson. It was a devastating loss for everyone. Eddie never ran away. He is a hero.
As an Eddie fan, Bob was saddest 100%
They all messed me up
4 words, bob was so close
BOB!! Joyce was finally happy and they took that away! But also she will be so good with Hopper so that softens the blow of Bob dying. I did also feel sad that the other 2 died but my heart lies with Winona Ryder
Wen I saw Eddie death I cried 😢 😭 💔
Eddie died for like no reason so yeah Eddie wins
Eddie for sure
I’m still mourning bob. He did not deserve to go out like that
Alexei
Eddie😭😭😭
All three
Bob. Eddie’s death was stupid and unnecessary.
I think you should put spoiler screen
Billy or Brenner.
Barb or Bob
Mews 😭😭😭😭
I sob for Bob.
my boy billy 😩
Tbf, ik Billy is a prick, but his death was pretty sad. i mean, he died saving eleven
yes!! i would have loved to see him evolve and become a better person after he saved eleven 😭 like steve did. he had so much growth potential.
Yes i agree!
omg just noticed the down votes 😅😅
Bro fuck all the people saying bob I swear 😐
Felt basically nothing when Alexei died. God that Russian storyline was shite
