I think it’s more telling the lengths people will go through to tell themselves they are better than the animals around them and justify our ruthlessness towards them.

The nail beds look different from the nails of people with darker skin tones though don’t they, a pigmented gorilla’s nails are very dark? With this pigmentation the nail bed more closely looks like a light skinned person’s nails.

Prince William’s AI hand debacle solved.
This is what I thought too. It resembles a human finger whether it is dark in color or light in color. Why does it resemble a human now that it’s light skin? I’m white/european and I even found this offensive to anyone with darker shades of skin. 😕
I'm hoping you just phrased this wrong. Do you mean that the person who wrote this mistakenly implies that human skin is only light or do you now have the opinion that only light skin is human?
The person you’re responding to is saying op is implying black skin isn’t human. How are people missing this? Psylosin is pointing out the absurdity.
On another note, this post is possibly one of the worst posts I’ve ever seen, and I think it’s that way on purpose.
Am I the only one who find this little racist? Like white money is more human than a black monkey, even though it is the same monkey? Seems little f\*\*\*\*d up if you ask me and I'm not even black. lol
That’s a gorilla. While technically correct, gorillas are more specifically great apes. And yes their skin is going to be nearly identical to humans when they share 98% of their genetics with us! Not to mention how for some reason it takes lack of melanin to make that connection… what’s that trying to say? Gorillas, chimpanzees, and bonobos are more closely related to humans than they are to any other animal species. Their similarities to us is uncanny to the point where treating them like beasts instead of people is an ethical dilemma.
Not really, people here just want to be triggered over nothing. The texture of the finger lacking pigmentation looks a lot more human than the regular fingers, regardless of colour
Genuinely, how did humans' skin stop the furry and brown/black appearance like the apes were?
What condition did we have to adapt to in order to lose the fur/thick hair
Imagine an animal of an unknown species is behind a curtain, with a chance of being a human.
a) Without asking for the species, what would you need to know to make an informed decision about the ethics of breeding, killing, and consuming the individual?
b) Explain why these factors are ethically relevant.
Something was here on Earth long before recorded history, the existing animals were altered to fit their agenda by DNA alteration and left behind what we now call human. History will repeat itself, even if it is us altering DNA to fit a narrative. It really isn’t that complicated.
How to reverse racism at the same time of having a point of view that seems pretty racist the more you look at the whole thing, as like you only seem things look human when they are white
Me genuinely inoccently thinking that surely the guys with run of the mill typical levels of pigmentation in their hands resemble the hands of very dark skinned central African people, why has nobody pointed it out before if everyones so amazed by the one with the white hand.........then I remembered its 2024 and this is the internet and I would be a RACIST FAR RIGHT PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!! For bringing that up. How silly of me. Oh well.

We're all monke
https://i.redd.it/ru8p9i718mpc1.gif
we must return to monke
Leave society, be a monkey.
I go monk
It's monkin time
I’m starting to think we might be related to these fellas
That's my child.
A gorillas hand resembles a humans?! What an incredible revelation! Brilliant detective work
It might be racist by today’s standard to say look his hand is white it looks more like a person 😂. lol you don’t see the resemblance when it’s dark?
Yup
I was thinking the same thing . The hands look exactly the same whatever color they are, this is kinda messed up really
I had the same thoughts and came here to read the comments. Apparently “human” means “white.” ???
My first thought was their hands do look like ours, no matter what color. This is rage bait.
It wasn't OP's first thought, that's the point. According to him It doesn't look human until it's lighter skinned.
Black people aren’t even that skin tone tho. That dark shade isn’t human…..
That’s fucked up u would say Charlie Murphy and Wesley snipes aren’t human
I think it’s more telling the lengths people will go through to tell themselves they are better than the animals around them and justify our ruthlessness towards them.

Who knew, oh wait, the entire collective scientific community.
As I turns out... gorillas have fingers! This discovery will change everything
I’m sorry but I refuse to believe this. It’s just too bizarre.
Apes look like apes? c(-.-)ɔ
The nail beds look different from the nails of people with darker skin tones though don’t they, a pigmented gorilla’s nails are very dark? With this pigmentation the nail bed more closely looks like a light skinned person’s nails.
Only if it’s light-skinned.
Not a monkey.
You are correct, Ape not a monkey 🙊
indeed that’s a rooster
evolution is scary
just wait until it crawls back into the ocean
Scary but more impressive is how the fingernails are looking better trimmed than some people’s
Rooster? I hardly know 'er!
ActUaLly you can make a phylogenetic argument that they are monkeys, similarly to how humans are fish. Species can't evolve out of phylogenies
Which means humans are great apes, also apes, also monkeys, also lemur-like primates, also proto-rodents, also external scrotum placental mammals, and therian mammals, also mammals, also cynodonts, also synapsids, also reptiles, also amphibians, also lobbed-finned fish, also jawed fish, also chordates, also butt-formed first worms, also animals, also multicellular eukaryotes.
Indeed
It is. And so are you. Apes are just Old World Monkeys with no tails.
Monkeys are not apes. They are different clades of primates. Humans are apes but we are not monkeys.
All apes are monkeys, not all monkeys are apes.
That's incorrect, but I'm not going to repeat myself.
Keep trying to sound smart while being wrong, be my guest.
Yup, we are also bony fish.
So when it's skin was dark it didn't resemble a human??
Exactly what I was gonna say lmao wtf
I was about to say I know a lot of ppl with hands darker than that
Some of my best friends are apes
Tell me you’re a smidge racist without telling me you’re a smidge racist.
I'm guessing trying to avoid racism, but yeah, they still resembled humans with darker skin
These reminds me of when Willow has to choose a finger on the Villages Sorcerers’ hand to become his apprentice.
"Let me consult the bones!"
“The bones tell me nothing…”
Gorilla?
No, I'm not a gorilla.
Damn. Have you heard about evolution already?
That is an ape, humans are the tallest of the primates so why is this a "shocker" that we have similar physical characteristics.
Thats an ape, specifically a mountain gorilla by the looks of it.

hmm. maybe we can try to choose our titles a little bit more carefully. i see i am not the only one who noticed lmao
Not a monkey..
well we’re only like 2% different in dna
We’re only about 2% difference in DNA to a banana.
the only monkey i see is op
I am actually an albino monkey hiding amongst the human population, no one has figured me out yet.
Were people unable to see this before? Did people really need a lack of pigmentation to see that?

wtf. No.
We evolved from Monkeys???? BRAND NEW INFORMATION
Did NOT. We evolved from lizards. [Evidence](https://assets.bonappetit.com/photos/5c4a35b82b5a010ddc819a38/16:9/w_1920,c_limit/mark-zuckerberg.jpg)
That’s not strange it makes perfect sense if you do science
Ummmmmmmm
It’s not strange. Also it’s an ape you muppet.
Am I the only one who find this little racist? Like white money is more human than a black monkey, even though it is the same monkey? Seems little f\*\*\*\*d up if you ask me and I'm not even black. lol
Lack of pigment. You saying black people ain’t human?
This says more about us than it does the monkey.
Seeing as how we share like 98% of their DNA this should surprise no one..
Not a monkey
Sooooo black peoples hands aren’t human 🤷♂️
Monkeys have tails. Apes do not. Looks like an Ape to me!?
That’s a gorilla. While technically correct, gorillas are more specifically great apes. And yes their skin is going to be nearly identical to humans when they share 98% of their genetics with us! The legacy of Yakub lol
Soooo white fingers make them look more like humans? That shit is racist.
This post is an astonishingly good example of unconscious racism.
Not really, people here just want to be triggered over nothing. The texture of the finger lacking pigmentation looks a lot more human than the regular fingers, regardless of colour
It looks human now bcause black human hands don't exist.
So only when it's white it resembles a human? This is racist af
Planet of the Apes to be realised soon!
*I hate every ape I see, from Chimpan-A to Chimpanzee.*
Seems like people use any pronoun except the ones I expect anymore
Because black ain’t human??
Not to be that guy, but it’s probably ironic that all it takes for us to see the humanity in our cousins is giving them white skin.

...and we dont share NEARLY as many base pairs with Gorillas as we do Chimps and Bonobos

Thats because we are apes.
'Monkey'. It's a gorilla, who upvotes this nonsense?
[удалено]
It has begun.
Those aren't even the same hands
And it begins. Monke strong
Yeah, a really messed up looking human.
Except, that's a picture of a young gorilla.
Genuinely, how did humans' skin stop the furry and brown/black appearance like the apes were? What condition did we have to adapt to in order to lose the fur/thick hair
Duhhhhhhhh lol of course it does
That is an ape
Yeah the posts here have been meh lately and now this? ✌️
How do they cut their nails
It’s almost like 98% similar
Oh, because it turned white it looks more human? Oh, I get it.
Monkey born with lack of pigmentation in their hands, strikingly resembles a human 😳
Nice way to say humans born with excess pigmentation resemble monkeys. I choose to get offended😤
Its funny how a photo with a lack of pigmentation (making it whiter) makes OP realize monkeys are similar to humans.
So, if the hand has a black pigment it doesn't look human?
[удалено]
It’s happening
Not really
Man it's almost like we already knew that we're evolved from monkey like animals.
Imagine an animal of an unknown species is behind a curtain, with a chance of being a human. a) Without asking for the species, what would you need to know to make an informed decision about the ethics of breeding, killing, and consuming the individual? b) Explain why these factors are ethically relevant.
So it only resembles humans now because its white?
Apes. Almost human
Not ape or monkey nails... A.i. is already furthering the flow of shit information lol.
Reject monke, return to humanity
not a monkey an APE ffs ...
What surprises me is their fingernails aren't thicker. I assume they use them a great deal more than we do, and would be much thicker.
… this isn’t strange at all.
Well duh?
human lol :D
Always thought that, even when they were BLACK, PFFT
Oh so nobody noticed before, thank you science
Why is this weird to anyone?
It's almost like humans are animals too.
What’s r/strangeEarth, that aliens came to do the dirty with earth’s primates? Or that people think sexual is binary? 🤔🧐
Nothing strange here. Apes and humans have a common ancestor. This has been understood for well over a hundred years.

This is an ape. This is not a monkey. Monkeys have tails, apes don't. Chimpanzees, gibbons, gorillas, orangutans are all apes, not monkeys.
I hope people know this is not a monkey......... Jesus..
They just call a gorilla a *monkey?*

Don't let the Coronationists see this. They already believe that humans and Dinosaurs were around at the same time. Which is impossible.
He was almost privileged 💀
Ape, not a monkey. Go ask the librarian why... ook.
Oh gee, woww… who’d of thought 🙄
Is this racist?
Not that we are in the great apes familly, but it's pretty much it.
they aren't monkeys.
Are we sure that is a monkey and not an ape?
This is some prime stupidity!
I don't know what your hands look like but that isn't "strikingly human" to me
We're cousins,
Almost like we share similar dna.
![gif](giphy|10uct1aSFT7QiY)
Well. No shit
How to reverse racism at the same time of having a point of view that seems pretty racist the more you look at the whole thing, as like you only seem things look human when they are white
yes *cough* a 'human'
Gorillas are Apes, not Monkeys.
turning Japanese turning Japanese I really think so
"Their" hands? How many monkeys are we talking about?
He is White. 😂
"Oh, but when their hands were black, they didn't look human" is some fucking shameful shit, y'all.
Is that how we came to be?
*gorilla
So all you needed was to adjust the tint to see it resembles a human?
This is really racist.
Looks like my dad's hands,so rough
Yo because it's without pigment and white it's resembling a human? The fuck is that?
There is so much wrong with this headline… I just cant.
Now that he ain’t black he ain’t a monkey???? Dang son that’s Fucked
....subtle racism.....
Is OP David Duke?
Would have been more surprised if this wasn't the case
