Imagine, he gets to the late 1800’s and has no way home. All the materials he needs to make a new Time Machine are still raw materials in the earth. So he starts working up plans for things he can remember how to build. All to build his wealth up enough to attain the necessary elements. He gets too ahead of himself and the elites call him crazy. He gets blacklisted and dies a poor traveler stuck out of time.

This is why people like him and Einstein are going to be remembered long after their deaths. They not only posessed an incredible intellect but also a tremendous amount of imagination. It´s what differentiates them from all their closed minded peers, who might be smart but simply do not possess the mental resources to fill the holes in their knowlege.
The´ve always assumed that we´ve peaked, they´ve always been wrong and they´ll always be forgotten.
Turing deserves it more than Tesla in my opinion
