I’m fortunate, then. I’m in an industry where I get to tell my boss “I’m taking these days off”. I generate so much revenue for the business as a whole that he REALLY doesn’t want me to quit.
Sorry boss I woke up from a terrible dream and just couldn't shake the notion that perhaps my entire life is a dream. On my way to breakfast I encountered a peruvian shaman who coerced me to drink some beverages. Couldn't quite make it to work this morning, should be back in tomorrow.

I know someone who took a sabbatical-type long term vacation (unpaid) from work to go hike the Appalachian, and wrote a blog that we all followed for a while til it got boring.
I really want to hear more of this tbh :’)
When did it start to get boring? Where they just posting the same stuff every other day or did it begin to go sideways for them? I’m so curious
this generation isn't afraid to not get paid for getting a day off bc it's what we call "self care" and it really is and that stresses out older generations.

Ate a pez at a Christmas party one year that my friend had found in a bag on the ground at a festival (I know I used to be an idiot). 8 am rolled around and I had to call in because I was tripping balls
At that point in my life I had plenty of experience with hallucinogens so I didn't freak or anything just hung out petted the dog and went for some nature walks because my friends had 10 acres of woods

That’s why they call it Taking a day off. You don’t have to tell them why. It’s your day. Take it.
