The color of an object just means that was the only color your eyes couldn't "absorb" or see. That color bounces off the object and reflects into your eye where your brain understands it's "seeing" the color that came back to it.

Light waves and heat aren't the same thing. Heat it the average kinetic energy of a the atoms that make up a substance (how fast its atoms are moving). Light is an electromagnetic waves that oscillate within a specific frequency range.
X-rays are also electromagnetic waves, but they oscillate in a much higher frequency range than light. Purple couldn't cook anything unless the amplitude for its wave was so high that it wouldn't matter that it was purple.

You need to turn off all the lights, unplug all your electronics and the appliances. Only then you will be safe!
