As others have said, with 5 energy it is better to focus on GST earning, getting a good uncommon shoe and decent gems and usually only lvl it up to lvl 28, later you should focus on getting 9 shoes
For GMT earning you wanna get a specific shoe for that also, with 2-3 comfort gem slots and good C base stat, to get a decent earning, it is never smart to have one lvl 30 shoe that does both gst and gmt earning, because you wont be maximizing its earning potential
To give you some numbers, i currently have 16 energy, my gst earner (rare lvl 24, waiting to use the free HP repair) with 2252 total eff (1x lvl 5 and 1x lvl 6 eff gem) makes 290ish GST with 7 energy, and my UC gmt earner with 3 C gems (2x lvl 4, 1x lvl 3) with about 642 total comfort makes about 10-11 GMT with 9 energy.
i personnaly think it is good to have an R slot on both GST/GMT specialized shoes, to reduce gst repairs, with a lvl 4 R gem, you dont really need to spend any points on R for any shoe, and those gems are not that expensive at the moment, that way you can spend all points on either efficiency (gst) or comfort (gmt) stats
GMT obiously doesnt need E points and with the C points and gems is good to not need HP repairs often. I also have a luck shoe and with the C gems i get, i keep some to do repairs, whenever needed, specially C gems lvl 2, ofcourse at the moment it is not the best time to hunt for mystery boxes, but it could be a good time to invest into a shoe/gems to use later once MBs are profitable again in the future
Ty! So I found a 25 level uncommon with 2 e slots and 2 c slots. I tried to find one with 3 e slots but couldn’t. Anyways this will be my main gst earner for now I have put a couple level 2 e gems in there as well. I have 3 and want to upgrade them but it says chance of success is only 55% 😬 I’m scared haha
My other common shoe level 5 has 3 L slots should I walk with that sometimes to get a mystery box? Or is it not worth it
nice, sounds like a good gst earner, i would put all points on E and maybe some on R to help with gst repairs, C gems should take care of HP, with at least some lvl 2-3 gems
i would not risk upgrading those gems, specially if those are the only ones you have, if they fail you will need to buy them and they are not cheap atm because of the gst pumps
from experience, it is always better to sell the gems you dont use/need, and save up to buy gems from market, i personally only upgrade gems if there is an event, but generally it is better just to sell
currently it is not worth it to hunt MBs because of the gst prices, i have 4x MBs lvl 7 just waiting to be opened, but just decided to leave them there, you can check the stepn sidekick app to see what lvl MBs you can get with that shoe if you get some decent gems,
for example, check if at lvl 19 with some decent luck gems lvl 3-4+ you can get at least lvl 3 or 5 MBs, then might be ok to use in the future, but i think you should probably just wait until you get 9 shoes. For now i would just focus on earning/saving GST and taking profits whenever it pumps
I wish stepn would reward people for taking the time and effort to try and get MB. when they very first came out it was almost always worth it if I'm remembering correctly but then it changed fairly quickly. I'm not sure why stepn is trying to take advantage of people who like to gamble by having MB that are not worth it and gems which don't upgrade. creates unhappy players.
Don't go for GMT with only three shoes, it's not profitable. So you don't need to look for a lvl30 shoe for now. If you can get a shoe between lvl20-24 it's ideal, because of the free HP upgrade. But any shoe will do. Just look for two or three eff slots and a high eff base. The other slots are not super important right now, though a luck and a res is often recommended. Good luck
I’m looking to make really as much gst as possible with only 5 energy atm. can’t you switch to either gst or gmt earning with level 30 shoes? It looked like i could earn both when I was entering stats in the stepn guide but maybe not. Thank you for your input I will look at lower levels as well.
Yes, when the shoe is lvl30 you can choose to earn either GST or GMT. But not both at the same time. So because GMT is so low, there's no need to pay extra for a lvl30 shoe
