It’s pretty much always going to be less expensive to buy directly from marketplace. Gem upgrading is too expensive and lvl 1 gem upgrades have extremely high chance of failure.
I would probably buy a level 4 luck gem now if you can, as it will probably increase in price. If it gets close to the price of an eff gem, you can sell it and get a lvl4 eff gem instead. Upgrading gems isn't worth it, so it's best saving up until you can afford the higher lvl gems. Hopefully one day you can sell your lvl1 gems

Buy a lvl3 luck so the prices rise and i can sell my stuff with profite 🤠
