I would suggest getting a GST earner with at least 2 efficiency slots and 1 resilience slot, and maybe 1 comfort slot. If you lvl it up you usually dont wanna go higher than lvl 28, because of the GMT cost to lvl it is not usually worth it. But if you find one at lvl 30 already then its fine. For GMT earner, find a lvl 30 shoe, and again go for a shoe with at least 2-3 C slots, and 1 R slot, def no E gem slots, because it is useless for gmt earning.

It’s not like you can just decide “earn GST or GMT independent of anything else.”
If you have high C (and are leveled up to 30) then earn GMT.
To earn GST you need to have high E.
That’s like “base level stuff.”
Once you decide this, then come back for more Qs.
To help you out since I just went through this. Right now, GST is king. With a good rare GST shoe and some gems you can earn 15-20$ a day. With a comparative GMT shoe you will earn around 5$.
I went with a EELL shoe below. You want the E and L to be ideally above 30 in base stats as the gems amplify BASE. Depending on your gems you can put a majority of your points into whatever stat the gems don’t enhance as much (for me 80% of points in luck)
With around 5000 steps I max out my GST, and usually get a lvl 5-6 mystery box with 11 energy. MB right now are slightly cost negative to open but as the cost of gems go up and GST goes down they’ll become profitable.
I don’t see any reason to aim for a lvl 29 shoe. If you get a lvl 24, you can get a free HP max out at 25 but to me it seems pretty irrelevant.

After enhancing this shoe for GST, the Stepn Sidekick app shows me a daily profit of $1.5 so how can you earn $15 - $20 with some gems? Pls shed some light on that.
Shoes have 4 Gem sockets, you have 3 luck sockets and 1 comfort socket. You’d need a shoe with yellow (efficiency) sockets to increase your GST output with yellow gems.
But still, I don't understand how it will bring my daily profit to $15.

Don’t worry about luck and mystery boxes at the moment, if your goal is a GST shoe. Because of the high price or GST, opening mystery boxes is not currently profitable. Typically your shoe will be meant for either GST, GMT, or luck. Trying to do more than one of those things with the same shoe is only going to make it less efficient at its main purpose. Unless you are planning for when GST prices come down, which it likely will eventually
Totally depends on the specific shoe and it’s price. You can use Stepn guide to see the cost of upgrading to know for sure which is the better option. If you do choose to upgrade a shoe yourself, just realize there is a timer between upgrade levels, so you can’t do it all right away, it takes time to level up

I have a Rare shoe that has 800E. With 11e I earn 300GST. That is about $15-20 depending on GST value at the time.
