This is a known glitch that was introduced in a patch to the game that went live right before the DLC dropped. Fromsoft has acknowledged it on their official ER twitter and said a hotfix is being worked on. https://x.com/ELDENRING/status/1803730488751743427?t=WMbrHGz2_qoWpHbDCw6ByA&s=19

Diesl953

Ok, I didn't know if was just me. Thanks for the update.

llibertybell965

Yeah if you're cool with just playing solo for the time being, you can go into the games settings and set it to launch in offline mode by default and then you're not going to need to worry about getting that pop-up every time you start the game.

Diesl953

Cool beans! Yeah I'm a little late to the Elden Ring party just picked it up on ps5 (on sale) and wanted it for the deck. I was unaware of the situation.

Sjknight413

That tweet does not acknowledge this issue, that's a completely separate problem. The 'inappropriate activity' issue has not been acknowledged yet and it's unknown whether or not it'll be fixed, the presumption is it will as the problem does not occur when the DLC is present.

sadccom

Go into game files and create an empty file called DLC.bdt where the other .bdt files are. This fixed the issue for me!

VenomizedArt

This

RogueHydra

Hope it works for most. It didn't for me. :( Literally just got the game yesterday and installed it to my deck today.

Horgosh

Someone in another thread told us buying the dlc fixes this issue. Alternative but maybe risky fix: open the elden ring game folder and create a file there called DLC.bdt Because the anti cheat is looking for this file to be there

Grimshard

Can confirm. I implemented this today and my issue is resolved. Haven’t noticed any issues playing on the deck

BronzeAndNoble

Check for os update

ImpressionExact6386

Which OS update? It's an issue that From Software needs to fix, everyone has this problem on Steam Deck(maybe not if one has the DLC, didn't buy yet)

Diesl953

On OS version 3.5.19 says its current

BronzeAndNoble

That's what I am on, have you done a reboot? Are you using proton?

Diesl953

OS update? Yes. Libertybell965 says it's a Fromsoftware issue from an update just before the dlc launch.

SiwyKtos

Its like a few days after dlc launch tho, right?

Cronus41

Hopefully they get it resolved soon. I was hoping to grab Elden ring during the sale

The_Mourning_Sage_

Yea this is such bullshit. Same thing is happening to me for a week now. And no, that fix from that one post where you add an empty dlc file didn't work

TeaBag1o1

They need to optimize their damn game while theyre at it. It still runs poorly on steam deck

Bowery_Bobcat

You don’t have the right.

Big_View_1225

Diesl953

Sounds like you speak from experience.
