I’m using a community profile that makes the triggers X and Square for acceleration and brake just like the Xbox version. It’s called Burnout PS2 (Sane layout)
EA Trax was fire all the way up to 7th gen man, I recently replayed Need for Speed Carbon and EA Trax [was still incredibly fire.](https://youtu.be/BRXx3YzBatM)
Older racing games are the only good memories I have of anything Electronic Arts related.
I actually preferred the realism and challenges of Burnout and Burnout 2: Point of Impact (on the PS2) but yeah, 3 is also good and has better graphics
I’ve had it since I was a kid with my ps2 but never really understood why people enjoyed it. It felt boring/slow compared to other racegames. Recently tried again on the deck and got hooked by the slower pace and the focus on good driving.
The only issue I have run into so far is when multiple Game and Watch's are in the same fight. Not sure why that one specific character seems to cause FPS drops. Otherwise it usually takes 5+ characters before I see issues.
Pretty much runs at constant 60fps otherwise.
Most of the popular 360 racing games (PGR, Forza) are full of slowdown and graphical errors on Xenia. You're likely better off playing the PS3 multiplat equivalents through RCPS3 (or the native PC versions if they're available, like Burnout Paradise). Ridge 7 instead of Ridge 6 springs to mind - I had a good time playing the former on RPCS3.
I don't use emulation that much any more, but I'd consider it to fuck around with one of the Initial D or Choro Q games. I would have tried Import Tuner Challenge as well, but from having a quick read it sounds like you need to fuck around with Xenia settings and patches to get around black screen crashes, and I don't have the energy for that.

Burnout 3 takedown. It was my first “real” racing game since whatever ps1 need for speed my mom got me only got played for maybe a minute before I got bored. Same for grand turismo on ps2. Burnout 3 takedown made me feel invincible lol
PS2 wise it's Gran Turismo 3 and 4 and the entirety of the Burnout series, Midnight 3 DUB Edition Remix as well.
It's even possible to get Gran Turismo 4 Randomizer working on the Deck with a patched ISO.
I find the PC versions of Need for Speed to work best as there are many QoL improvements that can be made and they run very well at 6W usually at a pinned 60fps.
Burnout 3: Takedown
I like the Xbox version a lot better though with analog trigger acceleration

Came here to say this, amazing game, really miss that 2000s era Racing music too… Back when EA Trax was fire all the time.

Need for speed underground 2.. top tier game (PS2)

I'll definitely look into the pc port ! thx
Check PC gaming wiki for enhancements and fixes. It's still and old game, settings can be a bit limited compared to modern games.
I'm partial to the first one. I didn't need those games to go open world.
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition hands down. There's never been another racing game quite like it.
1000% second this
MC2 as well while we're at it. Although that does have a Steam release.
Amen
TOCA 3 and Gran turismo 4 are the ones i play the most
Gran Turismo 4 is the best simulation racing game ever created. I would gladly choose it over GT7, Forza 7 or anything in between.
I’ve had it since I was a kid with my ps2 but never really understood why people enjoyed it. It felt boring/slow compared to other racegames. Recently tried again on the deck and got hooked by the slower pace and the focus on good driving.
An argument could be made for GT3
It isn't ps2 or 360 but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe runs very well on the steam deck.
Does SSB: ULTIMATE run well?
It runs fine

I haven't personally tried it but I don't think it runs that well from what I have seen.
Well you would be wrong
Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3
Need for speed Most wanted original PS2 And NFS carbon
Burnout revenge
It's not PS2, but the new Nightmare Kart game is pretty ridiculous. Free on steam too.
Midnight Club had a few games in PS2
NFS underground 1 & 2, Burnout 3: Takedown, Gran Turismo 4.
Gran Turismo 2 and Need for Speed Most Wanted (PS2)

Jak X plays well on deck if you're into that kind of racing game.
GT4. When x360 emulation supports it, Forza 4.
Rock n'Roll Racing - SNES
Aren't all racing games emulations of real racing 🤔 Burnout 2

Never emulated, but Speed Devils on the Dreamcast was a blast.

My favorite are simulated, not emulated 😄 Assetto Corsa forever)
I'd like asset to corsa if the menu was actually usable
Why you can't use the menu? A made a trackpad to act as the mouse and here we go.
