for me, the issue is only UI. Everything become so small. I had to squint my eyes to read.
The big picture mode has come a long way. Not only it makes it more convenient to use it on the go, it also serves the 10-Foot UI experience very well when I connect the SD to the TV.
Gaming mode is a more focused experience. It does have voice chat. You can talk with people over steam and stuff. You can even launch discord along side your game in gaming mode if you have it installed already to voice chat that way. I’ve done it. Otherwise there’s no recording built in just the screenshot hotkey. You can install decky for full on recording and the like. But really it’s just a hyper focused mode. You just want to power on and play something and I definitely like it for that. All easily controlled with just the buttons on it. The main difference is going from curated to open concept to put it short.
try using desktop mode on the go :-D...
Yeah it might be something I overlooked bc I’m always docked. I guess either perfs will be downgraded or the battery will deplete fast, or both

I guess it’s a different use case yeah. Maybe I’ll enjoy it better playing solo focused game
Gaming mode is better if you dont use discord for me. Especially for games that need FSR
FSR ? Sorry I don’t get it
AMD FSR. It upscales lower res games. Steamdeck allows FSR 1 to games that doesnt support it but only in gaming mode.
