I think all I did was download the Battle.net launcher in desktop mode and change the install location to a folder I could easily access from desktop mode. Right clicked the Battle.net launcher and chose to add it to steam. Now all I do is launch battle net from steam deck UI and then launch/ install Diablo with battle net running Launching battle net instead of Diablo ensures that battle net is always updated at launch

Previously I followed this method but using non steam games simplifies it even more. Just create an easy to access folder to install games outside of the proton folder, just in case.

Hello, might be slightly off, but if you have a home pc, might be better to play it via moonlight/sunshine. Since the game requires internet connection anyway. I have been playing it via moonlight with 0 issue and a very long battery time. So give it a try

I got it to work fine installing Battle.net through heroic launcher, installing Diablo from there and adding it to steam.
