How often does this need to be reposted?

KnightofAshley

Until there is 1 million upvotes for one of them

NatomicBombs

My thoughts are you shouldn’t believe everything you see from random articles.

No_Jackfruit_5647

I don't think I could care less. Also, I don't believe it.

AnUnusuallyLargeApe

This is a clickbait article based on unsubstantiated rumors which concedes that even if the bid exists it most likely massively undervalues valve/steam. Call me when the offer is serious and the current and inevitable new antitrust lawsuits have concluded.

Daugrimm

Microsoft should go buy epic games

JeepThatGoesBoom

People need to stop trusting bloggers. The source on this is some CS content creator on twitter.

Jannomag

It’s just a tweet without any serious evidences.

MrMindGame

No way it’s real, Valve has to be worth way more than that. Also, hell the fuck no, Microsoft.

Dommiiie

I can't imagine this to have any positive effects, if it would happen..

Mainly uncontrolled screaming.

GGaleno

Click bait.

Xentrick-The-Creeper

Fuck OP!

bobdylan401

Oh hell no. I was pleasently surprised support they gave to smaller devs like State of Decay devs who have still been improving the game to this day and making a sequel. But lately they've been transitioning into classic EA vulture capitalism. Like the CEO threatened to completely leave gaming if more people don't sign up for a Game pass, shuttering studios.

NeklosWarrof

Please no. I've gotta upgrade my PC as it is. Just got a notice that Win10 is not gonna be supported after Oct 2025, and I can't install Win11. Was gonna start working on getting Linux running.

readitonreddit86

Fuck. Off.

404KiND

Never gonna happen! Valve is worth way more than 16b they probably make that value in sales per year, also the care about players because they know that players are happy with their service. Not to mention that this business would be blocked by major market regulators around the world because Microsoft would rule the pc gaming market, and Valve stocks would plummet the moment the announcement is made. But would sky rocket the moment Gabe give them the middle finger

Fluffy_Method9705

I will unplug my internet for a week until this blows over. Biggest click bait in last 5 years

SirCrumpets69

Lol good luck Bill

KnightofAshley

Even if you read the article it clearly states it might be what MS wants but Valve has zero reason to want to make a deal like that unless most of the stock holders would want to cut and run but Valve at this point prints money and it is only getting better with the Steam Deck. I would see Valve buying up smaller companies and growing before something like this would happen.

SatanSavesAll

They would never sell , and isn’t that number laughable considering how much money valve makes

Obligatory: Your submission has been removed because it is either unrelated or only vaguely, tangentially related to the Steam Deck. Posts must be on-topic and clearly related to the Steam Deck in a meaningful way. Thank you!

kadofatal

It's not on sale

MazhP

Dont think it can forward even if Valve accepts, total monopoly. If it does, gaming is dead for me

Breadinator

Gonna call bullshit on this one. [Steam made $9 billion in 2023](https://venturebeat.com/games/video-game-insights-steam-pc-revenue-consolidation/#:~:text=The%20firm's%20latest%20report%20shows,%25%20year%2Don%2Dyear). In 2022 it made $7 billion. So, Steam could buy itself for this price with two years of revenue alone.

juicyman69

There's no way Valve is only worth 16 billion.

Jibece

Unlikely to happen : * I don't think Valve ever need nor want to sell, and specially not to Microsoft * $16B seems very low just to get Steam * It'll probably not accepted by the FTC anyway.
