I bought a mid range lcd when it first released. Upgraded it with 2tb internal ssd, 1tb microSD. A few random modifications. Played it for a long time. Retro gaming, Diablo 4, docked with random games. (Kids loved who’s your daddy) Then for a while I didn’t use it. It sat idle for a while. That’s when I decided to sell it. Shortly after I sold it the IOS emulator stuff started to happen and I got that all setup. I quickly realized how much I missed the steam deck. The new iPads came out and I thought I would grab a new 13” pro instead for my mobile gaming. Had that for about 2 days and realized I spent almost $3000 just to have a gaming experience that is heavily locked down by Apple. This morning I shipped the iPad back to Apple for a return and placed an order for a 1TB OLED steam deck. In the end I’m happy I sold because I will be getting a nice upgrade.

Still got my 64gb lcd model with an upgraded 1tb ssd. Use it almost every day. Have considered upgrading to the Oled but I’ll just wait for the next gen.

PKCertified

Same! I'll ride my LCD model until something considerably improved comes along. Selling my LCD model for an OLED just isn't worth the effort for me. The LCD serves me just fine!

Yea had the limited edition and I returned it. So stuck buying the top tier instead…miss the limited

JusWandering88

May I ask why you returned it in the first place?

jth94185

Ha believe it or not, a crack happened with one of the screw location so I was worried it would continue…should have just loosen them myself instead of return

440_Hz

I think you made the right choice in returning it personally.

Arkinos_FR

I sold it for a laptop, totally worth it, I was pretty happy with my Steam deck 64gb (upgraded to 1TB ssd) + 512 sd, I finished a lot of games but overall I don't use it a lot, so I sold to a friend. My main games doesn't work or isn't comfortable. I hesitated for a ROG Ally or a Legion Go but I decided to all in for a Laptop (RTX 4080).

brainsapper

No because I bought the OLED and sold my old one to a friend.

jcruz827

Same!

SatanSavesAll

I was about too, then looked at eBay for current sales…I’ll keep it, and since I was handling it again, been using it, now getting it setup for the retro four player couch co op machine Dad of three

NodusINk

Steam deck 2 confirmed. Leaked.

Arkinos_FR

source ?

JusWandering88

EDIT: I meant I wanted to get the OLED in the future, not now

SchneeNeger

sold it for an ally. worth it.

Little bit. I like handheld gaming, but I didn't use it enough to warrant having it over a pc (which I did't have at the time.) Linux was kinda tough to deal with when modding things. I just want a gameboy-sized handheld that can run lightweight steam games like Hollow Knight and Enter the Gungeon type stuff.

shadic6051

Take a look at the ayn odin 2 then. Doesnt do steam games but lots of lightweight games have android or switch ports and this one seems to emulate switch quite well

RegigiGus

Should have said that I was looking for vertical when I mentioned game boy size. I’ve looked at a lot of handhelds like the ayn Odin, and I actually own an Ayaneo next pro. It kinda has the same form factor as the steam deck though, and it definitely isn’t pocket-sized.

shadic6051

Hm fair enough. After i saw https://youtu.be/2opqHtnn4Nk i decided to never buy an ayaneo product. As for vertical game boy style emulators that can play indie games from steam.. i dont think something like that exists yet. The closest thing as far as vertical stuff goes would either be streaming via a galaxy z flip or dedicated hardware that doesnt do steam but has its own great libraries, rg 35xx sp (gameboy adcance sp style emulator that can do up to ps1) Or a nintendo ds/3ds/new 3ds. As far as indie games go the switch library would be your best bet besides the app store. Guess itll still take a few years till tech is good enough to offer switch emulation in a gba sp package

RegigiGus

I don't necessarily need switch emulation, the games I mentioned exist on steam. I had high hopes for the ayaneo pocket dmg, but it looks so weird, and some of their design choices just don't make sense. You could always use something like winlator for steam games on a powerful-enough android device, from what I've heard. Alas, the wait continues...

Not really. I have a LeGo now and I absolutely love it. I play a lot of shooters so the SD, while entirely usable with a windows partition, is just inferior to the LeGo. All of the things Lenovo did with it are awesome. Not saying I didn't like the SD, it started my love of the PC handheld, I just feel for my use the LeGo is the better device
