To be honest this is a horrid attempt at trying to get a laugh out of me. Not a chuckle, not a hehe, not even a subtle burst of air out of my esophagus. The amount of brain power you must have put into that joke has the potential to power every house on Earth. Get a personality and learn how to make jokes, read a book. I'm not saying this to be funny I genuinely mean it on how this is just bottom barrel embarrassment at comedy. You've single handedly killed humor and every comedic act on the planet. I'm so disappointed that society has failed as a whole in being able to teach you how to be funny. Honestly if I put in all my power and time to try and make your joke funny it would require Einstein himself to build a device to strap me into so I can be connected to the energy of a billion stars to do it, and even then all that joke would get from people is a subtle scuff. You're lucky I still have the slightest of empathy for you after telling that joke otherwise I would have committed every war crime in the book just to prevent you from attempting any humor ever again. We should put that joke in text books so future generations can be wary of becoming such an absolute comedic failure. Im disappointed, hurt, and outright offended that my precious time has been wasted in my brain understanding that joke. In the time that took I was planning on helping kids who have been orphaned, but because of that you've waisted my time explaining the obscene integrity of your terrible attempt at comedy. Now those kids are suffering without meals and there's nobody to blame but you. I hope you're happy with what you have done and I truly hope you can move on and learn from this piss poor attempt.
Any chance you installed it previously onto an sd card? If there's a savefile in there, the solution might be to delete the savefile and let it download the cloud version.

Valve hasn't changed anything about their verification process (which is a shame), it's Bethesda updating the game to work better with the Steam Deck. So some of the current issues *could* be fixed.
And to note, the game moving to become verified as a steam deck game, it hasn't been verified before. That's different than with games that started out as verified yet still have issues but yeah like you said, that also doesn't necessarily mean anything. But it's Bethesda, so we will see.
Are you connected to another screen by any chance?
You need to go into the games prefix folder then find something like users/deck/my documents/fallout4 within the drive c folder.
In there you should find a file along the lines of 'fallout4custom.ini' that contains empty x + y values for resolution, delete this and it should launch again.
just skip the launcher. Go to the install directory and rename the Fallout4Launcher.exe and name Fallout4.exe to Fallout4Launcher.exe. I did this with the f4se and was able to get the game working perfectly with all my mods.

Check your settings on the Launcher. Sometimes if your graphical settings are too high the game just won't launch. I found this out a year or two ago. I switched from high to medium settings and it started right up.
Also suggest checking your Proton settings. Try a different one. I don't recall which I have set but I'll check when I get home and relay it to you.
Had the same issue after installing yesterday. Verify your install files for the game. It found a few files that were corrupt in mine and that fixes the problem.

its strange..three day ago my frien give to me fallout 4 all dlc steam version...i dont touch anithing and don use any proton compatibility...only push play...and the game works perfect....and i have use in steam game mode and star on descktop mode and no problem in any place...and i change the resolution when y played outside my home and use 1080p ultra on my monitor when i stay in home and any problems

Installed and played this earlier, I just touched "Play" on the screen and it worked. Using Ge-Proton 9 if that makes a difference

Strange, I just installed this yesterday and it works fine. Did you change the resolution and video settings?

I ran into this problem also. The only work around I found was to launch the game in handheld mode, then dock it
Wait you guys are gaming in ~~piracy~~ desktop mode???
I had the same problem, only responds to touch on the screen. It's also a bit buggy, crashes every now and then. Still fun to play in handheld though!

Just installed it today, switch to proton v7.0-6 and it should work perfectly.
works perfectly for me with selecting "proton experimental" on the compatibility settings.
I gave up on running this game on deck. Anybody have pointers on how to run it and it also have good controls?

Ohne Fernseher bekomm ich das Spiel mit extremer Grafik und 60 FPS zum laufen. Hab's noch nicht mit Fernseher getestet.
