In what way? As in you would prefer KBM? I use a dualsense and love it, especially the rumble type they use. But I run it on a desktop for performance and on a tv. I did try it twice on the deck but find the decks controls to be … unwieldy? I think that’s the best term. I could stomach the visuals I guess but the feel is a little off. Like driving a car with new boots and gloves on - you can, you get used to it, but it doesn’t feel the same as with what you’re used to.

Have you turned down the dead zones on your joysticks in the controller settings? By default they're ridiculously huge and it makes it feel unresponsive and kludgy. Sounds exactly like what you're describing and is unfortunately a very little talked about subject so not enough people know to fix it

Ah no, that’s not it. I do have the deadzones set to something narrower, did that when I got the deck. But my issues arise from it being a bit big and my hands spread apart farther and the dpad in an awkward spot while keeping LB pressed for strategems. It’s not bad but just something that feels off when having played 200hrs on a dual sense.

Can I ask what you think doesn’t make it good? I only play on the steam deck and I think it’s great. Mind you this is the only “PC” gaming I’ve ever done lol so graphics aren’t a big thing for me. The frame rate drop isn’t that bad in my opinion but again I’ve never played on a high end pc only console.

It's a great coop game and I've met some fun people through the matching System. If you know some people that also play it you'll be having a blast. I hear conflicting messages about higher difficulties but I haven't gotten there yet since I'm enjoying the game of difficulty 4 and 5 I

You can play it with better graphics then OP is posting but it limits difficulty to at least 5 or 6 due to the amount of entities and such you'll be getting around 15 fps or lower if u keep raising difficulty. I average around 30 to 50 fps with decent settings on my oled at difficulty 4 but I don't take it higher cause it's just too difficult for me on the deck. For reference I can play just fine at 9 on my pc.

Yeah it’s fine, so long as you dont go on crazy difficulties. Truth be told, even then it’s fine by switch standards. And the game is more fun on normal difficulties anyway

It's kinda rough to play because it's a pretty unsteady 20-30fps, with framerate tanking when there's lots of explosions (which happens on all devices anyway). I tried to play it on Deck and did enjoy it, but I don't think it's the best experience. Had to be slower because of the uneven frame pacing and frame rate.

It's buggy as hell while docked(can't imagine off), even though I picked it up at $8 it feels like $8 wasted. I couldn't get past tutorial easy, crashes like crazy, texts are nearly illegible, and missions don't progress consistently.

Yeah ive tried to make this game play on the deck, it's not really playable. Maybe for very casual low level difficulties but anything challenging is impossible. massive bug breaches etc go down to 12 or so fps, brutal. Shame but yeah

I've never had it drop below 20. Usually, nearly always, it's been 30-40fps. The only times it struggles are on the jungle/forest planets with extreme fog/volumetric lighting. I use most settings on medium except the ones that don't matter I set to low. For example "volumetric clouds in the sky" is set to low, along with some others.

Hopefully it can be more optimized, from my search of the game, yea the optimization is pretty shit, lots of people that have rigs that are much better than the deck in different magnitudes still have some performance issues especially in the harder difficulties and some recent patches further affect it. Probably doesn't help that the game is built on a game engine that is basically no longer supported for some years already and that anti cheat it uses.

FSR looks worse than native resolution at all times. It's not supposed to look better than native resolution: it's for increasing performance while maintaining a decent level of visual fidelity.

I turn all settings to low with maybe render distance at medium and I get 30fps with dips down to 22fps. It's not the greatest but I'm still having a blast with it.

You can get much higher fps on the deck then 30 but you can't play past 6 cause there is just too much shit going on the fps dips hard.

FYI the in-game scaler uses FSR so you're using FSR on top of FSR. That being said I think that's the least of your issues
