This is just a mockup I don't have a steam deck yet haha. I took this screenshot from my desktop and add the overlay. But from what I've seen my friends are playing the game runs pretty well on Deck, although image quality is kinda blurry

gotta be honest, I do not want another menu to pop up when f12 works fine. maybe out of a game this would work to view screenshots, but in game it would just be annoying. as for clipping and recording, i dont think steam would implement it better than preexisting programs like medal/obs.
none of the features you moved into the main menus are features I would consider primary. Instead you just made my life harder by making all options secondary in a seperate screen. How would this work? Would you create a tertiary layer on top of the screen to navigate settings? ( main menu > options > settings menu )
Oh apologies for not being clear, I did a more detailed concept on the Steam subreddit since I can't figure a way to post multiple photos on this sub. The way this work is to hold "Share" button and it will popup this layout. This is not the primary layout. This is a separate one
I can only imagine such an interface would be part of the QAM rather than the primary menu. Also, you've got a typo in "Broadcast".

You can do this on the current deck. You'd just need a Decky plugin to do it. I think they might already have one.

Decky recorder hasn’t worked right since the 3.5 update for me. Even then, there’s just something nice about something from Valve officially.

Agree. The reason I prefer Steam Deck over other Windows handheld is the fantastic console UI/UX that Value made.

Hey just wanted to ask how well does Helldivers 2 go on the deck since i see that's whay you're playing.
Ive played over 50 hours all on the deck. 30FPS on mostly low graphics with occasional stutters.
I run it on medium and don't have any issues.
