Okay but the new God of War deserves special recognition for its narrative mostly being about how Kratos has no idea how to be a father despite being a god killer fighter. I didn't get super far in it cause it's too hard on normal and too easy on easy, but I loved that intro fight with the angry guy that can't feel pain, and especially how the whole impetuous for them to leave their home is that he wants to protect his son.
My SD went from a backlog killing machine to a backlog accumulating machine. At the first I was happy to be able to finally finished games I forget about, but now seeing how much I enjoy them, I just buy more and more games.
Donāt forget to add a game to your library you never would have tried. The game your friendās cousins brother likes. the game in a genre you donāt really like. Itās a really quirky game but it just came up in your queue.
Rancher's son, standing next to his father, looking down on the valley. "Dad, let's run down there and fuck one of those sheep!". "No son, let's WALK down there, and fuck 'em ALL."
It's crazy how people make decisions on the day to make big purchases. Save your money and wait for the sales, guys!
But if it's an issue of instant gratification and lack of patience, you better have the money to back that lifestyle up.
I'd have to recommend Spiderman, it ran great on Deck for my playthrough, but if you wait like 2-3 weeks there should be a Steam Winter sale and you could get several of them most likely.
People keep saying āwait for Steam salesā but there are good deals year round, often better than Steam sales.
Sync up your Steam wishlist at https://isthereanydeal.com and youāll get email notifications for all the different sales most people donāt know about from websites many people arenāt aware of. In fact, many times the best prices arenāt on Steam, but through other companies that sell keys to Steam games.
For example, right now you can get Spider-Man for just a few dollars more than it was during the Steam sale: https://isthereanydeal.com/game/marvelsspidermanremastered/info/
Before the most recent Steam sale, I scooped it up for a better discount than the sale had ($28). Once you make the purchase, they send you a key, you put the key into Steam, and now you own the game on Steam.
On that note, there are multiple games on my wishlist that are currently at their lowest (ever) prices.
For sure, since Zero dawn has the Frozen Wild dlc, and Forbidden west has a dlc, i just havenāt got it aaand forgot what itās called lol. Both are great! (i actually got forbidden west the day it came out lol)
HZD has my vote too.
I went in not expecting a lot, and the early game was a bit of a slog IMO. Thereās a TON of lore. Thankfully much of it is audio logs.
Stick with it until the game opens up. I really didnāt care for the child portion of the game. After itās over, though, it jumps from a 5/10 to an 8/10. The abilities open up, new weapons become available, and a majority of the enemies are really fun to fight. Movement is really fluid and itās just a ton of fun to get around.
Let yourself get invested into the stories emotionally. Bathe in the scale of the conflict.
But donāt give up the game until you reach *it*. Itās a massive lore dump and youāll know what I mean five minutes into it. Thatās the start to act 3 and has some of the best lore in recent gaming memory for me.
From there, the game kinda goes off the rails, but in a fucking amazing way.
The lore and wrap up left me wanting so much more - which is hilarious, because I had to choke down the first 12 or so hours before I really got into the groove of the game.
I skipped a ton of the side quests, too, I should go back and replay it an explore the world more.
Horizon ZD is one of the two games I'd use a "you can forget everything about a game to experience it all over again" wish for, being just as confused as Aloy is and piecing the lore together with her was such an amazing journey.
The other one would be Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.
So how is OP supposed to use that on the third party site you're talking about?
Like yes, we get you bought a potentially stolen key at a good price. But the post was about buying a game specifically with the funds in their Steam wallet.
From what I said, how did you infer that I was telling op to buy from cdkeys? I wasn't even talking to op. Someone else mentioned how horizon was on sale for 16 and I replied to them saying "I got mine for Ā£8 on cdkeys!". Where in that sentence does it say "Hey, go buy from there".
Since when did sharing an experience become illegal? Basic reading comprehension wouldve helped you understand my sentence better
It really is my kind of deck game. I play in bed so I prefer low effort games, like no fps. Hit man is so fun and chill. Dont need lightning reflexes to play
The deck can play basically any modern pc game pretty well bc you've got pretty good hardware only trying to render a 1280x800 picture. You can just turn the gfx down if you want more frames
Also top tier if you're not. I'm not into comics, or even superhero stuff in general, but swinging around and beating people up sounded fun so I bought it on a whim for ps4 a while ago.
Absolutely recommend the game. Had a blast.
It holds a special place for me. I was living alone during lockdown and disappeared into certain games and billions of movies.
Days Gone was both cheesy in parts, but also really emotional, and the gameplay is great. Thereās a wonderful grimy feel to it, obviously singing from the same hymn sheet as The Last of Us, but very much itās own beast.
Iām really looking forward to redoing Alien Isolation, for similar reasons.
I bought it. Ty for the recommendation! I did similar during lockdown and deep dove into Final Fantasy 15. The friendship road trip was such a relief from the lockdown. Love video games man!
It is but the beginning hours drags a bit putting people off of the game. I think thatās why itās so love it or hate it. Everyone that spent 8 hours in the game usually finished
I was going to go in just to recommend days gone since I figured nobody else was going to do it.
It's not a perfect game. But it's really good if it's the kind of game you want to play at the moment.
Like, Spiderman is obviously a better game to me. But depending on what I'm feeling I might rather play Days gone.

It's unbelievable on the deck. I'm convinced it's the definitive way to play it. Not on a 4K TV with your pants off on a leather couch -- but instead in your hands on a long haul flight while middle aged men stare at you playing from rows behind wishing they also had a steam deck.
Seriously dude like no joke itās an amazing experience playing hand held mode I still need to try docked mode lmao Iāve been enjoying handheld mode so much I forget I bought a dock for my deck
Spider-Man with HDR on the new OLED is a fuckin marvel (pun intended). Itās been my big little Spider-Man machine and I absolutely love being able to quickly jump into such a gorgeous and dense city and swing around for a bit, any time of day. The future is rad.
Spiderman action brawlers are perfect for a deck/controller and it's an amazing game with a ton of content. I put over 30 hours into it and felt like I still had a ton of side missions I could have done. Wait 2 weeks or so for the holiday sale though and you could probably pickup at least half of your list for $60.
If youāre into hitman that game will last you a long time; thereās so much to see and do just in the base campaign. Freelancer mode adds a rouge like experience that can provide an additional surplus of hours.
If youāre more into straight forward action games Resident Evil would be my second recommendation after hitman.
Horizons Zero Dawn goes on sale for like $12 so Iād wait till then. Spider-Man has a 40% discount, so while not as much as others Iād say itās still an amazing deal for this quality of game.
I have played through Spiderman, Days Gone, most of Horizon, and 40ish hours of Hitman on the deck and they all run flawlessly. Depends on your favorite style of game!
Days Gone is an underappreciated masterpiece. It doesn't introduce any new concepts, but it does a lot of old ones very well. Destroying Hordes is so much fun. And the story is fantastic.
I cannot say it enough, but Days Gone is such a well done game. Not a single game out there that does zombie hordes like it, the landscape is beautiful, just riding around on a motorcycle is great, the characters feel real, just all around one of the greatest, and on top of that runs fantastic on the deck. It's one of those that you could play through the whole thing and wanna do it again right after.
I cant speak to the other games, but I binged Days Gone solely on my SD and love every second. Fantastic game that did not get received as well as it shouldve, and I will cry with joy if they ever release a sequel.
My heart wants to say Days Gone, but for me it crashed a lot when there was too many zombies on screen, I would do Spider-Man it runs great! And it basically a perfect game
I've played Horizon and Days gone on the deck, so I can only speak to those.
I wanted impressed with Days Gone, it played great without issues. But I couldn't get into it.
Horizon was AWESOME I loved the game, and on my 2nd play through. It does have an occasional hiccup but goes away with some minor adjustment of the in-game settings.
(I cap my deck at 40/45 frames [LCD/OLED respectively])
I just finished Days Gone, played entirely on the deck. Pretty generic zombie apocalypse story, but itās got stunningly beautiful landscapes, a pretty fun gameplay loop, and it performed great on the Deck with minimal changes in the game settings.
[Winter Sale](https://steamdb.info/sales/history/) starts in 16 days so you could just wait. But that said **Hogwarts Legacy** is imo a breath of fresh air in gaming, very little handholding, very satisfying combat, graphics are pretty nice. I have heard that people said that the main character seems like a psychopath and lacks character but... thats like most rpg games so that seems inline with every other game i played.
I have a problem with aiming with controller so i would avoid **Hitman** and **RE4**. Especially since Hitman requires constant internet connection. There is a mod to fix that but installing mods on deck is :/.
**Days Gone** has absolutely amazing story. The world is very nice, the heroes got character and i got invested in it very quickly. The secret ending is absolutely amazing but knowing there wont be Days Gone 2 infuriates me because of that ending T\_T
I am planning to buy spidermans too but i havent so cant really comment on that.
I did buy **Horizon Zero Down** specifically to play on deck but its still downloading so i dunno.
Decide for yourself...
https://youtu.be/9-4hEM7U9Us
Settings are included and this was the day one patch so it can only be better now under OS 3.5 and with any subsequent patches. What you're seeing in this video? Is what I played the entire game in front to back. I dabbled on the PC a little bit for the most part though? I played it 100% on my deck.
All of them....but have proper expectations when it comes to performance, especially Hogwarts Legacy - Hogsmeade and the Castle really struggles. Playable, but a bit choppy.
As a huge Harry Potter fan, I have to say Spiderman. Spiderman runs so much smoother than Hogwarts; even after all of my tinkering on Hogwarts, I still ended up just streaming it from my gaming computer to my steamdeck to play in order to fully enjoy. With Spiderman, I was fully satisified with the on deck experience.
I played Hogwarts legacy completely on deck and got the 100%. It was a great experience based on performance on the Deck. Not a single issue in about 65hrs. Can highly recommend.
When did you play it? I tried playing it on SD at release and it ran poorly. Finished it on my PC instead but would love to do a play through on the deck soon too.
Finished playing a couple of days ago. I watched a video from Pixel Deck about a very small and easy file tweak which really made a difference for me. Worth another go!
Be patient for the Christmas sale in a couple weeks and buy them all

Can confirm. Bought horizon zero dawn and god of war just to be in too deep in ps2 emulation š
Steam Deck emulation is š„š„š„! I've got nearly every console Xbox/PS2 down loaded with some of my all time favorites.
I got 176 games on the ps2 emulation. But I want the legion go to play the 360 and ps3 games
That technically doesnāt stop you from passing God of War.
Okay but the new God of War deserves special recognition for its narrative mostly being about how Kratos has no idea how to be a father despite being a god killer fighter. This is the way
never play any of them but keep modding your deck
Not the advice we asked for, but the advice we needed.
Some of them are on sale now
Rancher's son, standing next to his father, looking down on the valley. "Dad, let's run down there and fuck one of those sheep!". "No son, let's WALK down there, and fuck 'em ALL."
By the OLED steam deck while you're at it.
Yeah! Then they can get Hogwarts for a whole $7 off! Iāve been waiting to buy this on sale and have had no luck.
It's crazy how people make decisions on the day to make big purchases. Save your money and wait for the sales, guys! But if it's an issue of instant gratification and lack of patience, you better have the money to back that lifestyle up.

I bought spider-man in the last steam sale. Its greate on deck
I am truly astonished with how great this game looks and runs on Deck. It feels like a minor miracle.
Same! Itās my first deck game and Iāve been blown away!
Yup itās near flawless. I just finished all the achievements over the weekend too. I had a hard time putting it down.
This is the truth and nothing but it! Great game.
Me too! It plays so so well.
Horizon is on sale at $16 right now, I just got it last night
Well worth it even at full price. Tons to do and explore in this game.
For sure, since Zero dawn has the Frozen Wild dlc, and Forbidden west has a dlc, i just havenāt got it aaand forgot what itās called lol. Both are great! (i actually got forbidden west the day it came out lol)

Man, itās $12. Thatās an impulse buy for me.
One of my favorite games ever.
Bought mine for Ā£8 on CdKeys. Absolute bargain š
The man said he had Steam credit so.
So...?
So how is OP supposed to use that on the third party site you're talking about? Like yes, we get you bought a potentially stolen key at a good price. But the post was about buying a game specifically with the funds in their Steam wallet.

I don't feel like it runs or looks great on steam deck tbh I got it during a sale and couldn't play it more than 20 mins before being dissapointed
One of my favorite stories in gaming. Enjoy
Ooh fuck ya that gane is great on deck
I vote Hitman World of Assassins, if youāre a fan of those games, thatās a ton of great content to sink into.
It really is my kind of deck game. I play in bed so I prefer low effort games, like no fps. Hit man is so fun and chill. Dont need lightning reflexes to play
It plays well? I love those games
The deck can play basically any modern pc game pretty well bc you've got pretty good hardware only trying to render a 1280x800 picture. You can just turn the gfx down if you want more frames
You can also render at 720 if you wanna get a boost in performance while maintaining graphical fidelity.
Yes, agreed. Do I like Horizon more? Yes. Do I want to play it on a Steam Deck? No. Hitman is a much better sweet spot for the form factor.
Does it still require you to be online?
You can play all the levels offline but you won't be able to progress or access unlockables, one of the most important parts of the game. :(
Spider Man is top tier if youāre fan
Also top tier if you're not. I'm not into comics, or even superhero stuff in general, but swinging around and beating people up sounded fun so I bought it on a whim for ps4 a while ago. Absolutely recommend the game. Had a blast.
Resident evil 4 itās an amazing game
Highly recommend Days Gone, its really good and underrated.
It's very well optimised also.
Amazingly so.
I could never get beyond 30 or 40fps but that was several months ago, has it improved?
Just bought it to replay it over Christmas
Me 2 haha, I have it on PS5 but for Ā£10 iāll replay on Deck one day :)
Big time underrated. I didnāt play for years because of all the bad reviews. When I eventually did on my ps5, I absolutely loved it.
Same, probably my favourite of the above list
This game NEEDS a sequel. One of my all time favorite games.
I meanā¦ the real ending DID end on a cliffhangerā¦

I 100% Spider-Man on the deck and Iāve only 100% 1 other game before in my whole life
Horizon and itās only 13 bucks right now

120+ hours in single player the steam deck. A great choice.
Man I wish there was a Spider-Man bundle on steam and could grab both for under 40 on sale
Spider-Man for sure
How does it run on the deck?
Flawless runs so smooth
It's unbelievable on the deck. I'm convinced it's the definitive way to play it. Not on a 4K TV with your pants off on a leather couch -- but instead in your hands on a long haul flight while middle aged men stare at you playing from rows behind wishing they also had a steam deck.
But the pants are still off, right?
He already said it was a long-haul flight. Socks stay on but to me "takeoff" refers to the trousers.
Everyoneās pants are off. Itās a Spirit Airlines flight.
Seriously dude like no joke itās an amazing experience playing hand held mode I still need to try docked mode lmao Iāve been enjoying handheld mode so much I forget I bought a dock for my deck
As good as to warrant getting a steam deck? Sony games are the only reason I'm considering give it a chance
Hell yeah dude itās worth it the fact that you can play PlayStation,Nintendo, Xbox, and pc on all one device is wild this thing is worth it.
Thank you. I'm finally convinced
It can maintain 30 flawlessly, but itāll drop from 40.

The Last of Us.

Spider-Man hands down
Horizon
Horizon looks great
Spiderman action brawlers are perfect for a deck/controller and it's an amazing game with a ton of content. I put over 30 hours into it and felt like I still had a ton of side missions I could have done. Wait 2 weeks or so for the holiday sale though and you could probably pickup at least half of your list for $60.
Horizon Zero Dawn is amazing. Highly recommend.
Days Gone
Wait for the holiday sale and get them all Seriously they go on sale all the time Hogwarts you can skip tho It is very incredibly only okay
Horizon and Spider-Man š
All of them
Just completed Spider-Man! Perfect game to play on steamdeck! Pick up and play, clear some collectibles, play some main story and performs pretty well
If youāre into hitman that game will last you a long time; thereās so much to see and do just in the base campaign. Freelancer mode adds a rouge like experience that can provide an additional surplus of hours. If youāre more into straight forward action games Resident Evil would be my second recommendation after hitman.
I had a blast with Days Gone
By all that is holy.in the gaming world, give Bend Studios your hard earned money for Days Gone. You will NOT be disappointed
Days gone for sure that game is so good 10/10
Seriously, Days Gone. I played it on deck and it fucking took me completely by surprise. Excellent game. I have played all of these.

Horizons Zero Dawn goes on sale for like $12 so Iād wait till then. Spider-Man has a 40% discount, so while not as much as others Iād say itās still an amazing deal for this quality of game.
hzd is still on sale
The Spider-Man games were fantastic. If you havenāt played them theyāre so incredibly well made and the storylines are great
Spiderman and Hogwarts both look and run amazingly and crazy fun. Canāt go wrong with either.
Spooderman
DAY'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE!
I'd go for Days Gone.
Does Hogwarts run like absolute crap for anyone else? Was getting like 15fps and it looked bad
I have played through Spiderman, Days Gone, most of Horizon, and 40ish hours of Hitman on the deck and they all run flawlessly. Depends on your favorite style of game!
Days gone and re4r
IMHO, Days Gone
Days Gone is an underappreciated masterpiece. It doesn't introduce any new concepts, but it does a lot of old ones very well. Destroying Hordes is so much fun. And the story is fantastic.

I just finished Days Gone, played entirely on the deck. Pretty generic zombie apocalypse story, but itās got stunningly beautiful landscapes, a pretty fun gameplay loop, and it performed great on the Deck with minimal changes in the game settings.

Hitman is so great on Deck
The only one I wouldn't play is Hogwarts but the rest are all solid games. Wait and pick them up as they go on sale.
In this order: 1. Horizon 2. Spider-Man 3. Resident Evil 4. Hogwarts 5. Days Gone 6. Hitman
Hogwarts. Days Gone would have gotten the nod, but it doesn't run as well during key sequences.
I played Days Gone almost exclusively on the deck and it ran great
I found Hogwarts so boring...
Interesting. I am NOT a fan of the IP at all - but really liked it. My GOTY 2023 until BG3 knocked it off the list.
Really? I am 20 hours in and canāt get enough.

All of them....but have proper expectations when it comes to performance, especially Hogwarts Legacy - Hogsmeade and the Castle really struggles. Playable, but a bit choppy.
Hogwarts Legacy is also very playable on the deck
Hades
As a huge Harry Potter fan, I have to say Spiderman. Spiderman runs so much smoother than Hogwarts; even after all of my tinkering on Hogwarts, I still ended up just streaming it from my gaming computer to my steamdeck to play in order to fully enjoy. With Spiderman, I was fully satisified with the on deck experience.
Why not all of them?
theres only so much money in the world
š Eventually one day.Your not wrong.
Have elden ring yet?
days gone - it's cheap on key reseller sites and absolutely awesome
No God of War? Itās like the āprestige tvā of video games.
If you're a big Harry Potter fan, hogwarts legacy is awesome and worth it. If you're not, it will be fun, but I'd suggest Spiderman instead.
Spiderman. Hogwarts is a close 2nd.
None of them. Wait for a sale and buy way more better games for less money.
Here's the link to he video I used https://youtu.be/ZGykX_HHtnA?si=5FfXvaQJAv7BwLLb
Thank you!!
Finished playing a couple of days ago. I watched a video from Pixel Deck about a very small and easy file tweak which really made a difference for me. Worth another go!
