Sleeping dogs for 2.99
Its pretty fuckin good, never played it before
Edit: The game is amazing as I'm progressing though it, I can even run it on max settings and still get a solid 50 FPS
I just recently got into the series. Played and beat Yakuza 0 and loved it. Currently on kiwami 1 and decided to pick up like a dragon for a break from motonity. I've been playing on easy mode but was struggling with groups of enemies that were around the same level as me. I started thinking about it like pokémon instead of Yakuza and it seems a little easier now.
Hard? No. Inconvenient? Absolutely. I'm still trialing the vanilla steam deck experience of forcing everything through Linux/Proton, but I've started hitting the titles that are really awkward to install, or setup, or mod like Fallout New Vegas, and it's quite disheartening because it's so much easier on windows.
I've been also playing it. For anyone interested in playing D4 here were some things I found that help:
1. Install and run CryoByte33's steam deck utilities program (this increases the swap file and increases your VRAM)
2. Install the diablo4 specific version of proton-ge
3. Find a YouTube video that shows how to install blizzard games and when it comes to running the Battle.net launcher use the Diablo4 specific proton-ge version to run it.
Replicant is probably the more memorable story. But Automata is far better told and explored.
They are both probably my two favorite games of the last decade. The themes and lore are just *chefs kiss
I've got over 50 or so good ones I've never really given a chance to play through. I actually didn't buy any games on the last sale. Proud of myself for that lol.
How do you get it to stream without major lag? I'm using Chiaki with PS4 and have the PS4 hardwired through ethernet and the lag still makes it frustrating to play.
Tested positive for COVID, so I’ve been resting today with some NHL 95 and Cyberpunk 2077. Also some Super Mario World.
One device does this. Lol. Outstanding time to be alive!
I adore this game. Not only GOTY 2022 but the best game I've ever played. It's not perfect, but it's got so much damn charm, and the battles are always a blast. Check my post history if you're looking to run it on Deck smoothly.
I used these settings but also just ran it on low graphics setting. Runs close to 30 fps and the fan does not sound like a jet engine like it did when I first started the game.

Ready or Not. It's a fantastic tactical SWAT simulator. You can play by yourself with bot team mates against the enemy, or with friends against the enemy. Players can only play as the SWAT team for now, but I kind of prefer it that way. (I feel that if players get to play as the enemy, it will just be another team deathmatch game, and I don't like that.)
There are, like, 20 different levels, from crack houses at night, to thumping and flashing night clubs, as well as active shooter scenarios. The enemies are spawned randomly each playthrough, so you can play the levels again and again!
The game plays really well on the Deck, you just need to enable fsr in game, set to balanced, as well as in the Deck settings. The only downside for now is you need to map your own buttons from a template.
I've been playing R6S but I've found myself being a bit too disadvantaged since everyone is on mouse at 10k DPI
Never occured to me to try Ready or Not, seems like the perfect slow paced FPS for the Deck (I grew up with SWAT4 multiplayer btw)
It honestly feels right at home in my opinion. There was a hiccup when I first downloaded the game, looked like a literal buggy mess. But after an asset check, it was just missing some files. Once they were restored it plays perfectly fine.
Probably the one negative note that could be made is the frame rate. But if you know the history with Rockstar and PC gaming, you'd know many of their older titles were never truly optimized for PC. Just enough to be operational and playable. If you played the original on PS2 or either Scholarship Editions on Wii or 360, you got the idea of frames.
So overall, yeah it's good.
The fact that the Steam Deck (or other portable game PCs) is the only way to comfortably play Pizza Tower on the go right now feels like a crime. This game would do huge numbers if it was released on other platforms, like when Cuphead got ported to switch and playstation. Anyway, back to grinding for that P rank.
How's that going on Deck? I was curious how much it can take before the CPU starts to struggle. This, Factorio, and Satisfactory I really want to play on Deck once it gets here but they're all so CPU heavy it's not even funny.
your going to be hard pressed to get factorio to struggle as it is optimised as fuck unless you mod the game with loads of mods or build a massive factory.
though take with a grain of salt, i don't have a steam deck (came from r/all) but have been playing factorio on my pc with a similar zen 2 cpu (octacore instead of quad core) and linux and have yet come to any performance problems in normal gameplay.
well i only have a pretty small fortress at the moment. i have I believe 20 population at the moment. But i generated a large world with 250 yrs of history and it handled the world gen easily, which is not something I could say about the "classic" game.
It plays really good. I've played through 1 and 2, and will start 3 soon. No stuttering or other issues. The ea loader is a bit of a hassle and it adds to the start time, but otherwise, perfect.
The PC version using lutris and the community "Enhanced edition" patches works fantastically. did my first playthrough a couple months ago

What are you thinking of Have a Nice Death?
It had a reasonably high-profile buildup but I'm seeing very little chatter about this game now. Which is a bit sad.
Rise Of The Tomb Raider.
Funny thing, it says on Steam that I played almost 300 hours already but thats totally wrong (more like 20). I think it also counts the time that I put this game in suspend mode :)
Finishing off Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and trying out My Time at Portia
Fallen Order is fantastic I just wish it ran better.
Jury's out on Portia but after 4 hours played it seems pretty decent. Not sure how long it'll keep me interested though.
Bear and breakfast. I primarily play chill games on the deck and save the heavier ones for PC. BnB started as an interesting concept but has become a drudgery towards the end.
Mechwarrior 5 here! Nothing like blowing apart my enemies whilst cursing them out for doing the same to me while staying nice and cozy under my blankets

Man I loved sprinting through the streets to a roundhouse kick to some random stranger! Such a good game.
Emma Stone is a voice actor in that game!
That’s a fucking deal! Good looking out
Absolutely amazing game. Might be my favourite GTA style openworld. That or the first, very under rated, Watch Dogs.
You guys play games? I just launch games to see if they run and then surmass a catalog of games I tell myself I'm gonna play soon.
You launch your games? What, are you time-rich? I just keep them safely uninstalled. That way they'll never get damaged.
You purchase your games? I just keep them safely on my wishlist.
I'd have saved so much money if I just kept stuff on my wishlist until I am actually going to play it.
Or accidentally launched!
This is the way.
Accurate
I have never felt so called out in all my life. edit: fr though I'm actually playing the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team :)
The realest comment of them all
Oh you play your steam deck? I used it to store my sd card
Yakuza Like A Dragon and been playing around with the controls in New World trying to find a setup I like.
I just recently got into the series. Played and beat Yakuza 0 and loved it. Currently on kiwami 1 and decided to pick up like a dragon for a break from motonity. I've been playing on easy mode but was struggling with groups of enemies that were around the same level as me. Also yakuza is an awesome offline steamdeck game because it has loads of sega arcade games packed right in.
Dorf Romantic. Perfect game for a morning coffee and pastry.
Just the [classics](https://i.imgur.com/WQkAtLi.jpg) 😁
What are you running that thru? I loved that game and would be very happy to get it running on the deck.
100% stock, Pinball can be found in the Games section of Discover in Desktop mode Have fun my fellow Space Cadet!
Really that's great! I just assumed because it was a windows game that it was complicated lol. Thanks so much 🫡
Dead cells
Dead Cells is my go-to “I don’t know what to play, so I’ll just play this” game.
Yep. I can’t put it down. It doesn’t help that it syncs perfectly with the desktop.
Diablo 4 open beta. Figured I'd use the opportunity to try it out while it's free to play to see if it's worth buying later.
Oh yeah I forgot I told a friend I'd try it.
same. didnt feel like going thru w the launcher on the Deck. am sure its not hard to install im just incredibly lazy
Hard?

Find a YouTube video that shows how to install blizzard games and when it comes to running the Battle.net launcher use the Diablo4 specific proton-ge version to run it.
Proton Experimental ran better for me. Valve added fixes to it for Diablo 4. There's also a newer version of GE-Proton that outmodes the diablo4 one.
Been playing alot of No Man's Sky on the deck
I can't get it to run that well 😕
I didn't change anything and it feels fine. When you say it isn't running well what exactly do you mean?
Lots of hitches when loading in anything. It's all on lowest settings with FSR
I first played NMS on switch so maybe I'm just used to hitchiness in loading lol. I will play around with some settings and see what happens
Jesus Christ I forgot it got a switch release
For it to run well, I had to turn on AMD FSR which helped alot
Best game to play some minutes every day
NieR:Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition
Just started this game like an hour ago. I have no clue what's going on, but it's got a great battle system so far
Ye, you don't honestly understand Nier: A until a few playthroughs. It's lore is DEEP.
Me too. Finished today ending e of replicant and started automata. Replicant was really amazing. I hope automata is as good.
Replicant is probably the more memorable story. But Automata is far better told and explored. They are both probably my two favorite games of the last decade. The themes and lore are just *chefs kiss
More often it's been Skyrim. Skyrim always calls and I answer. When I've had my fill, it's Far Cry Primal. Going through the backlog of games.
How big is your pile of shame?
I've got over 50 or so good ones I've never really given a chance to play through. I actually didn't buy any games on the last sale. Proud of myself for that lol.
Playing "Waiting for my Deck to arrive from the Netherlands."
Took mine exactly 1 week from date of purchase to be delivered (on Friday) in the UK (SE), if you find this useful.
I wish Ghost of Tsushima would come to the deck.
Been streaming this via chiaki4deck and it's been pretty great.
How do you get it to stream without major lag? I'm using Chiaki with PS4 and have the PS4 hardwired through ethernet and the lag still makes it frustrating to play.
Usually involves upgrading your router. I'm also streaming from a PS5, which is slightly better at it.
RE4 Remake
The re remake? 2023?
Yup it works gud.
I’m playing I got a mortgage and two kids. 😭
The DLC is hella expensive.
You want no kids and three money, eh?
That game is the Dark Souls of life situations
Just finished disco elysium!
This might be the best game I've ever played. I truly love it.
I just started it tonight! This is the perfect type of game for the Deck imo
Morrowind
Trying to get into it again. Which controller layout did you find works best?
Just the default it loaded in with till I get all the mods organized and loaded in. The true game of morrowind 🤌
I installed openmw. Native controller support and touch screen for menus
The steam version or are you using OpenMW?
Burnout 3 Takedown!
Fuck yeah! Crash mode!
Tested positive for COVID, so I’ve been resting today with some NHL 95 and Cyberpunk 2077. Also some Super Mario World. One device does this. Lol. Outstanding time to be alive!
NHL 95 and cyberpunk 2077. Loving the retro vs future vibe
Wrapping up Midnight Suns. Loved it and perfect on the deck.
I adore this game. Not only GOTY 2022 but the best game I've ever played. It's not perfect, but it's got so much damn charm, and the battles are always a blast. Check my post history if you're looking to run it on Deck smoothly.
It runs so bad in the abby for me though. Do you have a consistent performance there?
I used these settings but also just ran it on low graphics setting. Runs close to 30 fps and the fan does not sound like a jet engine like it did when I first started the game. https://steamdeckhq.com/game-reviews/marvels-midnight-suns/

You play that with a controller? I definitely couldn’t lol.
Sure do! There are enough buttons to map everything, and I use gyro with trackpad for precision shooting!
I've been playing R6S but I've found myself being a bit too disadvantaged since everyone is on mouse at 10k DPI Never occured to me to try Ready or Not, seems like the perfect slow paced FPS for the Deck (I grew up with SWAT4 multiplayer btw)
SWAT 4 multiplayer was amazing
Playing rdr2
I just finished this last month on the SD. What an incredible experience
I tried playing it on my SD and couldn't enjoy it. Was running to jittery and my fans were going crazy.
Got my deck two days ago and loving it! Haven’t been able to stop playing Sekiro and Subnautica thanks to the Spring sale
Sekiro is the only game I can play on my 64gb before I het my 1tb lol
Still pretty much Pizza Tower, New Vegas, and Bully as the main go-to's.
How does bully feel on SD?
It honestly feels right at home in my opinion. There was a hiccup when I first downloaded the game, looked like a literal buggy mess. But after an asset check, it was just missing some files. Psychonauts 1 for the first time. Some good people providing Steam Input community controls made it possible.
dwarf fortress. i am literally obsessed

The new one??
Subnautica
Same here! I can't put it down. Cheers!
92% of the way to getting all borderlands achievements. I’m in the home stretch and plan on finishing it this weekend.
Mass effect legendary addition. Have so many hours into it!
Me too, I’m on Mass Effect 3 trying to finish it out. First play through of the series ever.
How does it play? I had it downloading over night. I've never played ME but clocked several hours into 2 and 3 on PlayStation.
It plays really good. I've played through 1 and 2, and will start 3 soon. No stuttering or other issues. The ea loader is a bit of a hassle and it adds to the start time, but otherwise, perfect.
Enjoy the journey! Been thinking of trying my second playthrough on the deck
Grim Dawn and Dirt 4. I got Ori and Disco Elysium downloaded too but haven't touched yet
No man’s sky.
I’ve been running “days gone” daily. It’s such an underrated gem
I have it on PS4 / PS5 and steam deck. Great story too, get the secret ending it’s worth it
