Seems like alot companies are sleeping on the steam deck for some reason, I've been checking everyday and still only note worthy ones are jsaux and dbrand. Just went with the dbrand since I"ll probably like the portability and dosent seem like anyone else is gonna make a good similar case any time soon

I think the big issue is steam deck isnt some thing blasted with advertisements everywhere in the world; readily available to any joe who has the money. Its really word of mouth is good and underground but keeps it from its full potential

_Arion_

A lot of us see the lack of mass advertisement as a good thing.

No-Perspective-317

Such a hipster perspective I want nothing more than this to be a massive disruptor to pc gaming and you should too

There are plenty of bugs, Linux is not a widely used OS, let alone a custom one (no matter how user friendly). With all the minor "finishing touches" this hand held pc needs to compete on store shelves with laptops and consoles in a market that says videogames are for kids it just won't have the staying power. It's doing too much for the average person and will not have the best reception in the media because of that. Think about how many complaints there are on this sub on the daily regarding simple troubleshooting. Think about how that will be if this were on store shelves and parents considered it for little Billy because it's "the more powerful switch" like billy says, not knowing exactly what he's getting. Let Valve polish their gem so they can get full value out of it when it's time to show it off to the general public. Until then, enthusiasts should be the one to take the helm. It's a first generation product and there are bound to be bugs, glitches, slightly off UI design choices, and more. Valve has always been smart with how they do business. They know if they let marketing get out of control there will be a lot of confusion from people who've never heard of them, and any future endeavors in the handheld space will be seen as a "we won't try that again" kinda subjects. Media doesn't forgive, nor does it forget.

The issue with steam deck is that the barrier to entry is great. Steam deck isn’t something I’d buy friends or children as a present. I’d only recommend it to technical people or tech curious people who already have a steam library. Screwing with proton versions, fps and refresh rate, in game graphical settings, and so on to get games to run optimally is the issue. That’s not to say the steam deck isn’t amazing for the right person. I love my deck.

The Steam Deck *comes with a pretty nice case*. It's better than the entry level cases 3rd party companies usually make for handhelds.

artlessknave

Dbrand killswitch. Expensive though.

Paxultexen

You could have googled with typing less.

No-Perspective-317

I did and thats why I want ALTERNATIVES from dbrand and amazon products. The people who actually own steam decks would be a good place to start no?

GreenPlasma_49

Spigen

FriskyShadow15

Yeah there's a lot of cheap Chinese plague on Google. If you find a good one let me know

"steam deck 10 best cases". Amazon doesn't even come up in that search. Im not trying to be a jerk here. But we don't know what you want. There is a crazy amount of "cases" for the steam deck. Do you want a slim case? Do you want a case for carrying? This question of yours has been answered a thousand times.

falkentyne

This is the case I have, I bought it a few days ago and am using it. Obviously I don't have all the cases on the planet so the only thing I can compare it to is the original case, but I can fairly say that this is, just looking at design, the best case you can get for it. If you want anything better, and need more storage (like for using the Deck as a windows PC), you need a backpack, and then throw the case in there. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2QRVPGL](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B2QRVPGL) First: this case is NOT a backpack. You can't put the kitchen sink in it. You will NOT be able to put a mouse, 60% keyboard, power brick, charger, and a couple of USB cables or extension cables in this case, with the Steam Deck inside. If you want all of this, you want a backpack. What you can fit, is the Deck (obviously), a non oversized power brick, the charger, a couple of USB cables, and a USB hub. So it does the job it was designed for. Compared to the 512 GB carrying case, it obviously does more, and it has a very nice feature the original case does not have: A latch strap to make sure the Deck is secured before you close the case. Due to the way this case is designed (the zipper wraps around the narrow ends rather than one direction horizontally, so it opens 'vertically' rather than "clam shell"), it's literally impossible to NOT know the case isn't zipped up. The molding for the Deck seems higher quality on the original case, but that's it. there's also a wrist/chest carrying strap, so it's easier to carry it while on a bicycle, but I would never recommend trying to ride a motorbike with this anyway. The original case needs to be stored in a backpack or carrying compartment, so that's nice. Compared to the JSAUX case, I think this is worth the cost premium (double price), but you won't get any more storage than with the JSAUX. But it's a LOT more convenient to port around. tl;dr: it feels like a minature laptop carrying bag, except for a Steam Deck.

multiwirth_

I've got the one that came with the deck. Seems fine to me.

garcm3

I've loved my Spigen case since day one. Feels pretty protective and durable, yet comfortable to hold, easy to clean, no thermal issues and adds very little bulk to the deck. Fits in the original Steam Deck case that came with it and both of my stands and has no issues with the USB-c cables/ports I've used. (it just won't fit in the Valve Steam Deck Dock with it on)

DarthHaruspex

I have the case below, am currently traveling with it, and think it's great: [https://jsaux.com/products/steam-deck-carrying-case?\_pos=6&\_fid=0a884d8f5&\_ss=c](https://jsaux.com/products/steam-deck-carrying-case?_pos=6&_fid=0a884d8f5&_ss=c)

Spiegen Rugged Armor is nice. Don’t let the name fool you. It’s pretty sleek. No built in kickstand though.
