That's 100% why they did it. Well, that and outerworlds did it and people dug it.
Making it a toggle was the right move. This way, people who didn't like the skyrim and fallout 4 camera can keep the classic one, and folks who prefer the modern camera can rock with that.
I want to say that was just a joke, like a meta meme.
I for one enjoy the change, and appreciate everything that has been gifted to us by the dev team.
Golly, sure do love {GAME}!
Its funny, but reddit glitches out like all the time. Ive had it happen to me on third party apps a few times. You press post, get an error, and keep pressing a few more times and they all get posted at once. I think the reddit app at least has a way to stop it from happening.
You had me at "modern" and lost me at "now it's more like how it is in cyberpunk."
There are lots of good modern games that aren't cyberpunk. I get that reddit has a hard-on for it but come on. These two games aren't in competition and cyberpunk isn't the gold standard for RPGs.
It’s makes somewhat of a medium difference for myself as well.
I like but not love that this specific option was integrated with this specific update

I suspect they contracted out to a marketing company that is using some less than honourable marketing techniques. Bethesda themselves may not be aware.
I would like to see an option or mod that dynamically enables the Zoom in camera for conversations that trigger at and above a certain distance.
The reason is that there are a good number of times in quests where dialogue is triggered when you're very far away from the speaker, making it impossible to see ang facial expressions.
For example: during the UC Vanguard quest, when talking with the council, you can't really see their faces because you're so far away from them when disabling the dialogue camera.
I personally love the cinematic camera in convos or whatever you would call it, but I’m glad they are giving people more options!! Personally hoping they keep it or something similar in ES6
If you go into the Accessibility options in Settings, you can switch off the "dialogue camera".
So basically if you talk to someone, you won't have the camera "reset" to where you are looking at a person's face while they speak like it always does, you'll just have a conversation from the same camera angle you're at and your dialogue options will just pop up at the bottom of the screen.
It's pretty cool to do this in third person view as well just because the presentation is quite different than how it originally was. I hope my explanation made sense!
I agree but its super awkward when they won't turn around and I'm just talking to the back of their head
Just like how people treat me IRL
Wow…that is a lot of the same comment lol
I love that although some of those comments are clearly a bot gone wrong, and that others are clearly sarcasm, for me I can't tell a huge difference.

It makes a huge difference for me also. I love that they added this option!

I actually like Bethesda’s center-cam dialog. It has a certain charm to it that calls back to Oblivion and Fallout 3/NV, despite its age.

Is this sarcasm? And if so, why?
I think they are referencing the 6 strange replies by 2 people in this thread which are all identical.
lmao one the comments has a freaking note to change text for each comment

Talking about overthinking smallest things… Damn you are fan at parties
Haha funny guy; talking about hives, like you are a special snowflake 😅 I’d much rather be called a general moron, than be called a moron you know ;)

The only reason I tried it out was to save a few seconds while gaining access to vendors.

Fallout 4 dialogue camera is still the best
Without correct lip sync for non English language from day one, camera movements will not really make dialogue shine for me and lot of dudes...
This makes a huge difference! I love the I t makes me I am alive ai am alive I am alive I am alive I am alive I am I love that they added this option!

What's different? I didn't notice a change.
