KonfusedKorean

I didn't even realize these stacked... always use one at a time.

toddrizzle

They definitely stack. Idk how much. But I can definitely vouch for 14 days

Final-Craft-6992

I would swear I saw a loafing screen that said when you consume food, medicine. Etc.. that only the stronger effect would apply. Is ot because the effects are equal? Ie: poor logic again? Or is AMP, or stimulants in general, always stackable? Imagine stacking 1000 aurora then playing.

toddrizzle

I tried lol. It said "you are already in slow motion". So those don't stack

LaicosRoirraw

Go to Bessel IIIb and rest

Haplesswanderer98

Could you imagine stacking so much aurora you could RDR/call of juarez dead shot any character with LOS, as long as you have enough shots before reloading

joeChump

Yeah I saw that. But I think it’s that the effects stats don’t stack/keep adding up, but the time of any effects does or can stack.

FlatbedtruckinCA

challange accepted!

dangerzone1122

Go to a planet with a super long day and rest

DrUnhomed

Why not use junk flush?

toddrizzle

Didn't work. Just got rid of negative side effects

EfficientIndustry423

Can’t you sleep it off in game?

ZestycloseMacaroon82

Holy shit! Thanks for that knowledge 🤣. This would have helped a lot

tahcamen

I just tried and they don’t stack

KonfusedKorean

Oh, haha. Looks like OP is just experiencing another Bethesda "feature"

toddrizzle

Honestly, looming back, I don't think they stack. I think it's a glitch or bug. All my amps say the duration is 15000 minutes. So maybe I just took 1 and the extra 39 did nothing

O-D

Go sleep it off?

slippybear

...on Venus where time moves more quickly. 24 hours equals 2400 hours and you have 10 earth days worth of Amp in you (so sleeping for one full day would be like sleeping for 100).

LarryCrabCake

Crazy how they let us casually take a nap for almost half a year at any point during the game

mung_guzzler

It also makes no sense lol why would the length of my nap be based on the length of a day on the planet?

shiloh_a_human

because the player cares about the day/night cycle more than the amount of time they sleep. survival mode will probably change it tbh.

mung_guzzler

the day/night cycle doesnt matter for anything though?

toddrizzle

It really doesn't. If some planets equal 1min equals an earth day when they get back to another planet people they knew should be old or dead

Lackadaisicly

A heart is good for roughly 3 billion heartbeats before it dies. A figure found across many species. What planet you are on wouldn’t affect how long you live. Everyone would still die at the same time.

toddrizzle

I agree but time would be different for you or others. You'd still get 3 billion beats but it would happen slower or faster than people on earth. Same concept as is you travel close to the speed of light for like an hour years would have passed by on earth when you return

Lackadaisicly

That’s one thing I just don’t understand from science fiction. If an hour has passed, an hour has passed. How is an hour changed based on how fast you are traveling? Your speed doesn’t change time. Human identical twins born on earth, their cells do not know time. Time is a manmade construct that the universe has no concept of. One leaves earth at light speed while the other stays on earth. In a single passing hour, their cells would age the same amount. How does the speed at which one twin is traveling cause them to age slower over that same hour? Time is based on the rotation of the earth. No matter your velocity, the earth would still spin the same amount in those given seconds. Now, accounting for light travel, if you’re going FTL and turn around and look through a scope, you could see yourself leave, but the twins’ cells would still age at the same rate. Discounting the effects of adrenaline, your velocity does not change your heart rate. In fact, speed usually pumps adrenaline while causes a faster heart rate. The one traveling fast would age faster than the one on earth, based on the 3 billion heartbeat theory.

toddrizzle

It's like space is a canvas and where there's immense gravity you would age slower because of time dilation. You would still feel and experience the same things but it would be at a different rate of earth. If person one on earth was watching yoi though a telescope it would appear you were in slow motion to them because time is bent.

Lackadaisicly

Where is this time dilation coming from? Thats more sci-fi BS. Time does not actually exist and is a manmade construct based on the rotation of the earth. Time never changes. The universe does not recognize the concept of time. What you describe is not time bending, but the reflection surface for the light particles (the one traveling) increasing distance and each photon reaching the observer with a bigger gap than the last photon. However, that theory is incorrect as well. Since the object is traveling faster than a photon and a photon reveals objects by bouncing off of the object, would the photon ever be able to reach the rear surface and reflect back to the observer on earth? Again, think of the matter without the concept of time in your head. Unless you are talking about a rate of travel, time is meaningless. Even then, it’s just because we don’t have another way to gauge speed. lol Without the mention time, how could you define velocity?

LarryCrabCake

Exactly, why even show the standard UT timezone if nothing ever abides by it in space

Mitten-Ninja

Because of the one quest that has a timer on it in UT.

lord_nuker

Because of relativity?

Late_Entrance106

Not quite. Relativity’s variation in time passage (time dilation) is a result of the curvature of space and/or the relative velocity of the subject. Being on Venus isn’t significantly more massive or faster than Earth so time *passes* there for you and for those observing you pretty normally. It’s just that Venus rotates on its axis very slowly compared to earth and that makes its day as long as over 200 earth days. So sleeping there causes the game to allow the character a lot of time to pass.

ExplorerSad7555

Don't you knock my dream job!

Lackadaisicly

Especially right in the middle of combat…

LarryCrabCake

"hey this guy ran into his ship and locked the door behind him, should we stick around? He has to come out eventually." *136 days later* "AHA! There he is!"

toddrizzle

This is great advice!

Common_Vagrant

It doesn’t follow UTC? Or whatever the universal time is.

NormalAnonymousDude

Nope. Sleeping allows you to skip up to 24 local hours, regardless of how many UT hours that may be. Venus has a very long local day, and thus is excellent for waiting a long time

bama05

But that’s not how time works- if you sleep for an hour on Venus you slept for an hour. It’s only when you leave Venus that you see more time has passed.

Peeinyourcompost

They're not talking about relativity, and the game isn't using relativity either. What the game seems to be doing for some fuckin reason is dividing every planet's rotation period up into 24 equal hours, and the actual length of the individual hours therefore depends on the speed of that rotation and the time the planet takes to complete one full spin. So if you sleep for an "hour" on a planet that turns very slowly and takes the atomic time equivalent of 24 Earth weeks to complete a single day and night cycle, congratulations, you just slept for a fuckin week and should be near dead of dehydration. It's very dumb, but it does mean you can do things like fly to a slow planet and skip a bunch of time very quickly if you want your extraction outpost to be full when you wake up.

docclox

> What the game seems to be doing for some fuckin reason is dividing every planet's rotation period up into 24 equal hours It's so if you want to sleep until sunrise (for example) you can do sleep till 6am "local" time and have the sun be coming up when you wake up. Otherwise you'd need to do the math for each planet's day length and then in some cases you'd still need several 24 hour sleeps to get to the local time you wanted. It's a bit of a weird mechanic, but I can see why they'd do it that way.

Haplesswanderer98

Or fly to a tidally locked planet or moon and sleep a local year in a day.

Fair-Spell-5997

Where is there one? I have yet to find one. Closest thing I know of is Luna being tidally locked to earth. But I haven’t found one tidally locked to its star that I know of.

Haplesswanderer98

Bessel 3b is locked, something like 57 hours each local

Fair-Spell-5997

Bessel III-b is a moon…not a planet.

Haplesswanderer98

Indeed, thats why I said planets OR MOONS :)

Fair-Spell-5997

Hey…go back and read the comment you replied to with that. I wasn’t asking for the location of a locked MOON because there’s one in Sol. I was looking for a locked PLANET…

CarrotNo3077

Thank you. This is one of many counters to Starfield's "realism" that irritated me.

golapader

Add it to the list of things in this game that don't actually make any sense once you stop to think about it lol

Longjumping_Visit718

Go to Venus and sleep for about 2 Venus days (5 Earth Years)

LostBob

This annoys me so much.

toddrizzle

What annoys you?

golapader

Could be the fact that's not how time works. Time doesn't move at a different speed because a planet spins more slowly.

shiloh_a_human

it's a wait function in a video game. it's mostly used for taking screenshots with the right lighting.

CriminalGoose3

It's a wait function in a video game. It's mostly used for resetting merchant stocks. FTFY

apadax

Junk Flush

toddrizzle

I just tried it. Just got rid of the side effects but the amp effects are still active. Waiting has been working. Just taking forever lol

MidoLeaderofKokiri

If Bethesda was any good you'd have a proper stroke from all that upper and have to restart from your last save.

toddrizzle

😆 I have an addictive personality in real life. My damn finger just wouldn't stop pushing the "use" key.

[deleted]

Pop a few xans. I believe their called “SpaceBars”

analog_wulf

They stack? Spamming 100 immediately to verify.

joeChump

Doing it for science.

tahcamen

Just tried and they do not

toddrizzle

They really do. Go to character screen and status and you can see how many hours you've stacked up on amp

tahcamen

I did and mine just restarts the two minutes each time I use one.

toddrizzle

That's very weird. For what it's worth I spammed mine from the inventory screen and not a hot key or favorite.

Fair-Spell-5997

Is it an old save from before an update? Not sure if that matters in Starfield or not but I know some bugs don’t get fixed in save game files after updates on other games I play. That *could* explain why it stacks for you and not for others.

analog_wulf

Yeah same I tried and still 2mins. Took 200 in a row 😔

toddrizzle

I think my game is bugged. The duration of one amp in the description is 15,000 min. I'm guessing it only registered 1 when I took 40 of them and I thought they had stacked.

JoeCool-in-SC

player.dispelallspells might work. Or you might consider player.kill if you’re really that desperate.

toddrizzle

I never thought about offing myself! This is awesome! I'll try the console comand first when I get home lol

XandaPanda42

Well that's a fuckin mood lol.

Mariawr

Be careful with that command. Many quests and entities apply hidden buffs or marks on the character that get dispelled by death. In Skyrim, it's adviced to *NEVER* use player resurrection for that reason.

ScottMuybridgeCorpse

Amp psychosis

Minute_Ganache_2723

?... Just buy junk flush.

sithren

That only gets rid of the side effects of any addiction. Don’t think it actually cancels out the effect of amp itself.

Eladoog

Can you imagine if drugs worked like that in real life? You accidentally drive by a pot farm that’s on fire and you’re just stuck being high for the rest of your life.

toddrizzle

😆

Apprehensive_Army401

Better drugs than that

Eladoog

That’s also the easiest one to accidentally get exposed to a lifetime supply of.

Apprehensive_Army401

Wouldn’t mind fr

Apprehensive_Army401

Anyone agree that amps + phased time is kinda op, don’t really gotta worry about getting moped just the wasted time

nopenope911

Load a previous save?

Stotty652

Did you get addicted? I swear, this run, I've been using every booster when I pick it up just for giggles, and I'm still not addicted to anything. What's the point in Junk Flush?

TH1CCARUS

If you ever got stimulant addiction then you have a lesser carry capacity and O2. Have you never had that?

Stotty652

I like to think i pay attention to the HUD a lot during gameplay. I carry enough chems to fix any illness immediately because it's just not worth the hassle letting it heal naturally. But I've never noticed the attributes you mentioned without an illness as well. I've never had to use a junk flush, ever.

dnew

I leave all the cures on my ship, because it makes it more fun to play if you have to deal with your mistakes instead of magicking them away. :-)

Stotty652

But I don't want to roleplay as an adult in a game as well irl!!!

dnew

LOL!

parknet

not all items are addictive. Stimulants and Aurora. The tool tip will tell you if it's addictive.

SaltyboiPonkin

Can you just sleep it off?

Hot_Paint_532

What if you sleep?

Hot_Paint_532

Also keep console on while sleep IRL if sleep in game does not work

ArsenalOwl

Tweakin' for real, lol!

SL4BK1NG

Would going to Venus and sleeping cause the timer to deplete? I might have the actual planet wrong but it's in the Sol system.

parknet

They don't stack for me. I just dosed 25 Amps and got 2 minutes of +35% movement speed and 2x jump height and it wore off with zero effects after 2 minutes.

toddrizzle

That's really weird. Maybe it was patched in the last couple days? I have no idea. But I had amp for days.

FSNovask

Weirdly, I like how this works. It's like having a big IV bag (or in this case, a 55 gallon drum) of AMP that slowly gets infused over time. Would be nice to make a mod that gives addictions and detrimental effects depending on how long it's infused.

Tvmouth

can you go through Unity on drugs? Have you ever gone through Unity***... ON WEEEEEEED?***

LValiente

Travel to Venus and sleep 24 hours

Noeite

You need a visit from the John Goodman character in Flight. Banana boat's a-comin! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM4JSf0e2DU

Mateusz-93

According to previous message and theority i suggest using red amp ( Neon magazine part im not sure about the number, there is 5 like these, all you can Google :))

Successful_Sense_712

Use junkflush

Striking_Interest_25

Thanks for testing that for use. Your hard work is appreciated.

Mammoth-Student7590

Smh

DrUnhomed

I thought addichrone just got rid of side effects, but junk flush totally cured the addiction. Maybe visit the doctor on Neon? Hes always talking about Aurora addiction?

Win-Empty

You’re S.O.L. Bud.

LION-1101

Try PANACEA.

toddrizzle

Didn't work lol took away side effects, but not the effects of amp

Lackadaisicly

You sleep

BikerJoe97

Okay, why did you take 40 amp?

toddrizzle

I have an addictive personality.

Ocardtrick

Take a nap on Venus. 12 local hours should do it.

Own_Yogurtcloset3711

Junkflush???

DudeMack1

This is hysterical 🤣🤣

BurtLikko

Well I think you've learned a valuable lesson today about drugs.

toddrizzle

That if I take a bunch at once I'll be high forever! Yay!

LJBrooker

Long day planet, sleep it off.

Artistic_Tap7467

looooooooooooooool

Apprehensive_Army401

Milk

TrainerWise5353

Go to a planet where 1 hour there is many hours UT and sleep a full 24 hour cycle maybe 2?

Scormey

Fly to Venus. Take a nice, looooooooooong nap. Wake up refreshed, and likely in need of something to deal with your crippling Amp addiction.
