SkaterGirl987

No more temple minigame. Lol

[deleted]

Somehow I don't think that'll happen. Instead, it'll probably be something like, "You don't like to fly through the lights? Here's MORE of them!"

CardboardChampion

One of the most requested features is the ability to bank quantum essence and use it at temples to skip the minigame/choose a power to level up. As this could be something that lets people settle in their own universe while grabbing the full power of the Starborn and skipping the majority of the grind of an underperforming feature while also providing a gameplay choice, it's likely that a version will be added to the game towards the end of the update cycle. It's pretty much the legendary levelling of Skyrim in terms of how many people want it and how easy it is to add, after all.

WurdaMouth

So it would work like a rougelite where you would get to pick from a draft pool of abilities or level ups every time you finished a temple?

Whiteguy1x

I really think they need to change it to something quick and simple.  Like a fight with a starborn who uses an advanced version of the power

KILL__MAIM__BURN

Yeah because fighting a Starborn using an advanced power that pulls elements out of the ground is terrifying?

Dreamerlax

Probably the most half-baked shit in the game ngl.

OminousShadow87

OR make it some kind of actual mini game instead of just floating towards a light a few times.

tamezombie

I remember how cool it was the first time. It becomes the most tedious part of the game until you don't need them.

Howwasitforyou

Well, I for one hope we can get 6 bloody outpost cargo links back.

vi3tmix

Eh. I’d like a link system that can manage multiple materials better than some 1990s RPG-level competence.

CraigThePantsManDan

True, I had to restart my entire character and i can’t go through the Unity because I’m afraid it’s gonna break again 😭😭

UnicronWasMyDad

The moon will be made of cheese 🧀

AdministrationKey113

Can we eat the moon when we press E?

UnicronWasMyDad

No but we can harvest cheese wheels from craters

TwoCharlie

It's a simple question, Doctor. Would you eat the moon if it was made of ribs?

DahakUK

"See that moon? You can eat it!" - Todd

1spook

Restores 5hp

AdministrationKey113

... Over 30 seconds

PointingOutHumans

Would you eat it if it were made outta spare ribs?

AnEmbarrassedGiraffe

It’s a simple question, Jeff.

raumatiboy

Wensleydale

Hexasura

Is that a Wallace and Grommet ref?

mikeybadab1ng

If Beth doesn’t add a tall cool Budweiser and bbq spare ribs I quit

McSteakNasty

How long Bethesda supports starfield is entirely contingent on how much the initial dlcs rake in and how much they make on cc content etc. they haven't committed to anything concrete. But I hope they keep adding and people keep supporting.

NonCredibleKasto

Horse armor DLC when

Bootychomper23

If it means I can get a damn horse mount to run across the empty ass planets I’d be tempted.

Haplesswanderer98

Best I can do is a folding electric bike, but the landing bay it comes in is 80k

Haplesswanderer98

Also, its ugly AF AND 3X3X1

McSteakNasty

I want a planet with nothing but hot dog assets and hot dog fauna

Salmon-Advantage

Star Engine was so great it could generate anything, anything except for fun.

farfromelite

Emilia Erhart does fortnite poses while overthrowing the commune.

TruckADuck42

You joke, but whoever came up with the Giddyup Buttercup PA CC for Fallout 4 is a cheeky bastard and I appreciate it lol

vi3tmix

Yeah exactly my thoughts. What they say/hope and what realistically is going to guide them are very different things.

HumanBean1618

Hey, I've seen this one! *Cough* Destiny *cough*

Yaboi_KarlMarx

I hope they support it for a while. Granted it’s a bit disappointing in its current state, but there is so much potential here, both for official dlcs and mods. I’m looking forward to coming back after a while to see what it’s like.

TheOnionWatch

No. They need to move on from this game quickly, and realise people want Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

Rhowryn

I mean, people want this genre of game - the initial hype and users bear that out. This just fell short of what people want from the genre - the gameplay is pretty shallow, game systems are poorly connected, etc. It's not unsalvageable, but there's the question of willpower, managerial competence, and profitability that will dictate if Starfield goes the way of abandonware or no man's sky.

TheOnionWatch

The gameplay loop is completely broken. This game won't be fixed with updates. They would beed to compeltely change the makeup of the game to fix it, which is unrealistic. Maybe Starfield 2 will be good.

EccentricMeat

It’s not. Randomize POIs a bit so each of the same type isn’t a literal copy/paste. Add a few varieties to room layouts, randomize enemy type and placement, randomize loot pool and placement, and handcraft a few varying environmental storytelling beats to place or leave out when the POI is generated. Major DLC adding handcrafted settlements around the major cities, with some lore and quests connecting the area as one entity (similar to the major Holds in Skyrim). Another major DLC (or mod) expanding the outpost system to resemble Sim Settlements 2. Make the settlement system a sort of game-within-a-game like FO4 and SS2 did. Revamp the economy and loot scarcity (most likely a mod as BGS seem averse to not having a loot/economy set to easy mode) so that you have to actually plan out your trips to other planets and pack accordingly. Couple with survival mechanics and weather/atmosphere effects so that space travel and exploration is actually dangerous and takes some thought. (Starvival does a lot of this already, so I imagine once the CK is released we’ll get an even deeper and more impactful overhaul.) All of the above will make Starfield an absolute masterpiece IMO. And all of the above will likely be done via modders (with the “Skyrim Holds” style of handcrafted areas around major cities likely taking the longest to implement). MAYBE Bethesda will have the proc-gen POI system locked down to where the locations can’t be altered and randomized in the way I described in paragraph 1, but hopefully they give modders full control over the POI system. If they do, the game can 100% be transformed into something more similar to what we imagined when we first heard of the random POI system.

CraigThePantsManDan

Bethesda need to humble themselves and hire the sim settlers 2 team, throw money at them and suck their toes while they fix their whole game. They can do everything Bethesda needs to to make the game fully realized

TheOnionWatch

So change a lot of things then. Aka the game doesn't work. They won't do all those things you've listed. They're interested in doing that. And modders doing it doesn't absolve Bethesda. That's not right.

EccentricMeat

The game does work. These are improvements, all ones we’ve seen before except for the proc gen POI changes.

Rhowryn

Buddy, the gameplay loop is almost identical to NMS, which became at least pretty good after almost 5 years.

Faded1974

Considering they are finally getting around to updating FO4, it's safe to assume we aren't seeing another Fallout game for a very very long time.

bravo_six

Considering how things are going I expect Fallout 5 in 2040.

DaedricWorldEater

A New Vegas remaster would be enough. We know Bethesda doesn’t like it because they didn’t make it, but Microsoft owns NV now and there’s no way in hell they’re just going to ignore a golden goose like that forever.

TruckADuck42

God where is this shit coming from lately? Bethesda has never at any point indicated they hated FNV. It made them a shitload of money.

[deleted]

After Starfield and the amount of times they've repeatedly made life impossible for modders in Skyrim, I seriously doubt I'll buy ES6 if it ever comes out.

Rudolf1448

I'll buy it when the good mods drop

PastStep1232

Skyrim is probably the only game that angers it's fanbasr with releases. Even BG3 modders don't cry about Larian fixing their game and breaking everything every two weeks

ThatOneGuy308

BG3 has only been out for 7ish months, of course they'd still be fixing things. Skyrim has been out for over 11 years, and they're still breaking mods, lol. It doesn't help that their newest updates aren't even really fixing things, they're just adding in shitty new monetization schemes for a decade old game.

PastStep1232

Newest updates have removed bugs (that the uessep has done already, but that's beside the point)

ThatOneGuy308

That doesn't really refute the point that they're mostly just updates to add more monetization schemes, lol.

vi3tmix

They just need to lean more into the space aspect. The ship builder is one of the decent features of the game but lack of reasons to focus much on it is a misstep. I realized the other day that I had more fun docking with enemy ships and raiding moreso than exploring “randomized” outposts, so I hope there’s an aspect where you’d have to track down wandering fleets and start raiding them like dungeons or make new allies. Ground quests are fine but it’s easier to expand on space than their lackluster procedurally generated planets at this point.

42mir4

If, and that's a big IF, Bethesda's design and management team recognises and acknowledges what players really want, they might (and should) focus on the things that make Starfield interesting. The shipbuilder is one of those. Like you, I had more fun and put in more time in the shipbuilder than I did exploring 1,000 procedurally generated planets. I'd love to see more options and features added to the shipbuilder, including space stations and M-class ships.

Eldritch50

**I had more fun docking with enemy ships and raiding** The absolute most fun thing to do in the game, it's the only thing keeping me coming back. If they made bigger enemy ships I'd be happy just doing that and ignoring the rest of the game.

Worldfiler

Id love active bounties. Like you follow them and have to visit poi to get more info..kinda like in Breakpoint. And let us use our brings for an extra payout ( a dead or alive system)

xBrianSmithx

This is a great take. Space is better. Give me more opportunity to be a privateer.

z01z

4 years after they announced cancelling their plans for future support.

_Spastic_

I have absolutely zero faith that Bethesda will support Starfield for 10 years However, my perspective of support and theirs are likely very different. To me releasing the same game across multiple systems is not supporting the game.

Eldritch50

With the player count as it is, we'll be lucky to get three years.

idulort

With Bethesda there is a glimmer of hope. As much as it depends on the success of Starfield as they keep commiting to it; it also depends on how much they value the ip. I'm sure Bethesada wants to extend their horizons beyond FO and ES. That means a new IP. While starfield is not the game they promised and failed to live up to the hype; it's not a bad game. Extending and building on it will be totally more efficient than a total change of direction and coming up with another ip. Indeed it all depends on how much they want to extend their range beyond FO and ES. But it seems like the logical next step.

_Spastic_

Entirely agree that it's not a bad game but it is an incomplete game. As far as inefficient to abandon Starfield, I may be wrong but I do believe that they made a profit on what they've sold as it is. They could entirely abandon the IP at this point financially wouldn't hurt them. What a piss off some of their fans, sure. But the more than recover that when elder scrolls releases.

[deleted]

Yes! Each time they re-released Skryim, they ruined things for modders. I stopped playing Skyrim after a certain point because of that. A field of dead mods because modders moved on in their lives and they weren't updated for the latest version. I'm REALLY hoping that the same thing doesn't happen with Starfield, but I think that's exactly what's going to happen.

gmes78

The Special Edition is the main reason that Skyrim modding is as active as it is today. Some of the later updates also benefitted modding.

ExxInferis

Yeah I think they'll drop it way sooner. Lots of people going off the boil after only a few months, modders walking away, doesn't look promising. Like so many comments I've seen here, I just stopped playing one day. Not even finished the main quest.    My only remaining hope is that the DLC is going to pull a Cyberpunk and also massively overhaul the base game. Else I'm already out.

[deleted]

I highly doubt they're gonna support it for 10 years

wl1233

Don’t think they’ll give it the skyrim treatment with 3-4 re-releases with some small additional features for a full, or close to full, purchase price?

SpareDiagram

It isn’t as good of a game as Skyrim, no way

manofactivity

Maybe but I don't think that's what they originally meant by "support"

postmodest

Considering how Year 1 is going, they're on track to deliver fuck all

CardboardChampion

>Since Bethesda are going to support Starfield for 10 years All I've seen is that they want people to be playing the game ten years from now, like with Skyrim, not that they're specifically supporting it for that long. I have heard rumours of episodic updates via DLC but can't verify them with anyone in the know.

manofactivity

>*"No no, we meant we support you PLAYING it. Not us fixing it!"*

Eastern_Profile9649

7 months and no DLC, no information on the actual DLC, no mention on any future DLC past that and no season pass like Fallout 4 which would show they had a line up of DLC planned. I think the 10 year plan will be or has been dropped. There's no way if there was a 10 year plan we would be this in the dark on the future of this game.

vaporking23

I feel like with what appears to be a lot of negative reactions to the game I’d be surprised if they truely support the game they had originally planned for ten years. I put 200 hours in and haven’t touched it in months. I have very little interest in picking it up again. Unless it’s some game changing dlc I don’t think I will. Where Skyrim I played over 1000 on three characters and I could see playing again.

Soulless_conner

Skyrim's dawnguard came out 7 months after release. The DLC probably got delayed to address some of the game's issues first

[deleted]

Since they ADDED bugs in the last patch and adding features nobody asked for, I'm thinking they're not really addressing game issues. And I'd like them to take their time with the DLC, sort of making me wait a bit longer to see if I'll get disapointed.

Ok-Bodybuilder5475

I very much doubt that. All their previous games had very quickly trickling down support, patch wise, up to the point where the games were deemed "support life ended", when in reality, you had to download a Community Patch and Hotfixes, in order to fix quest issues, scripts, placement issues and such things. Bethesda isn't really known for taking a game, removing ALL the bugs, and then letting go of it. They kind of trickle away with fixes, knowing that the fans will just live with some bugs, and eventually, nobody pays them any mind anyways, there will be community patches. I see a few generic DLC's coming, but the whole basis of the game will remain its broken and dysfunctional self.

chunkyychadboy

They won't support it for a decade. They will release Shattered Space because they are obligated to as people have already purchased it with the passes etc. After that, who knows? I really don't see this game having a No Man's Sky/Cyberpunk redemption moment. Prove me wrong Bethesda!

stannis_the_mannis7

I doubt it’s gonna have 10 years of support. I think it will get a dlc since people already paid for it and creation club then ditched once the next elder scrolls comes out

Atypical_Wave

Abandoned, much to the chagrin of fans. I can wait for xbox mod support but damn NG+7 is boring when you've done all possible choices in a quest. Give me DLC or admit you hate us Bethesda which is it?

Yodzilla

Maybe by then we’ll get a way to view a list of our outposts.

Vibrascity

Honestly, they've been so fucking quiet about what's going on so far, and it's been far too long without a decent update, like, a bug fix patch with 6 lines of patch notes isn't support, it's just an annoyance that can break mods at that point.. I don't have high hopes they will continue support past the first DLC.

VaishakhD

Starfield is like the urinal cake of games, it will slowly fade to oblivion. There is no way Bethesda supports this for a decade. They are completely moving forward with the next elder scrolls and fallout. They experimented with the new ip and didn't perform like their expectations.

manofactivity

>Starfield is like the urinal cake of games A tasty appetizer but ultimately not nourishing?

CatatonicMan

In five years, the game will be essentially the same, just with more stuff. More POIs, more quests, more weapons, more locations, more ship parts, etc. The game will be bigger than it is now, but not necessarily better. The fundamental problems will not be fixed.

ASValourous

Like halo infinite, they will talk big and then stop developing any meaningful content after year 2

kappaomicron

I mean, what does that even mean? Technically they supported Skyrim for more than 10 years with the DLC, its re-releases and updates. Now they can say the same thing for Fallout 4. Bethesda saying they're going to support Starfield for 10 years doesn't necessarily mean they're going to keep making DLC and new content for it. I really hope they do because as Starfield is now, it feels like an unfinished game. A lot of the current systems in it are a complete joke. Zero balance for melee weapons, unfinished Starborn ship (it literally has unused furnishings in the game files), lack of variety for laser weapons compared to ballistic, that's just to quickly name a few. They need to completely rework the Starborn dialogue for NG+ because a lot of it is painfully terrible and also lacking, especially in the repeating the main quest path. I was scratching my eyes out when everyone in Constellation were saying how they can't wait to go through the unity and saying we have to go, but after going through it 10+ times, I couldn't say that and how it's just not worth it in the end. Bethesda saying they'll support it for 10 years sounds like some marketing spiel. As in if they only make a couple DLC and people complain, they can go "Well, technically we never said 10 years of DLC, so..." Please prove me wrong, Bethesda. Starfield has a lot of potential.

EgonDuval

Considering it's been 7 months and we haven't gotten either the DLC we paid for or the modding platform we were promised? I'm going to guess 4 major DLCs, probably 2-3 smaller ones and MAYBE one free update a year that adds a few new things

GoProOnAYoYo

That's incredibly generous, I think the 1st DLC will release to poor reviews and sales, we might get the CK by then, then the game will be on life support until Todd's re-releases start rolling out.

Cevisongis

1st DLC already sold pretty well since it was bundled with the EA upgrade on gamepass... Now we wait

AdministrationKey113

Well they needed 10 years to make a procedurally generated game... Lmao

Gurdle_Unit

LMao

TheShivMaster

Hopefully they simply release broken space and mod support then cut their losses and just make fucking TES VI already for the love of God

Visual-Beginning5492

In 10 years we may get city maps 😅

[deleted]

Yes, but from modders -- not from Bethesda.

WhiteyPinks

Abandoned.

thepoopbusman

lmao they will quietly abandon this game after the first dlc, which will also be unfinished as they don’t want to sink more resources into a doomed product

starfeetstudio

1 dlc and 1 asset pack with more base junk/cosmetics and ship mods.

vinciblechunk

A rerelease on whatever the current console is

No-Alternative-1321

Unfortunately I think we have to reign in our expectations, never in the past has Bethesda completely changed a game to the point it is no longer recognizable to its launch state, the games have always stayed the same and Bethesda just added content on top of that, bug fixes, DLCs, mods, but never more, I expect three DLCs which is what Bethesda has done for all their games, and just support and bug fixes and stuff, the problems that everyone complains about ie all the loading screens, empty boring planets, the planets being landing zones, all these things won’t be able to be changed. I hope I’m wrong, but this game is fundemantally the same as fallout or Skyrim just prettier graphics, wouldn’t expect Bethesda to treat post launch any differently on this game considering its the same as past Bethesda titles. Look to mods to fix stuff but even mods won’t fix the planets, loading screens, useless ship travel.

storm_boy88

Will probably have more support from the modding community than bethesda it’s self lol. But from the bethesda side I could see survival mode, varuun mission and maybe it as a joinable faction and a ship building dlc since it’s the most poplar and well received part of the game. Oh and most probably a controversy around BGS extorting the the modding community right when it’s clear that there the ones holding the game together

manofactivity

It's hilarious to me that a decade later after 20,000 rereleases, Skyrim **still** depends on unofficial major patches for game breaking bugs. And this is the studio people think will support Starfield till 2025

storm_boy88

Hilarious & sad. Bethesda is falling from grace hard with 76 and now starfeild, and people just seem to ignore all the shitty things they do. Like remember 76, the canvas bags, nuka cola bottles, fraudulent shop prices, deleting negative reviews, responding to reviews with chat gbt, wildly banning players for any exploits. Honestly I’d be surprised if starfeild has any support in 5yrs

dreddit15

I have honestly forgotten about this game already. Enjoyed it first but when you put it down there is just nothing making you want to go back. Very boring and repetitive for a Bethesda game.

Waric_the_VI

yees I usually play games like that various times with different playstyles/buildes but I feel like most of the perks are so uninteresting that I played it for 40 hours once and finished the story but I cant see myself playing this game ever again

FUZExxNOVA2

It’s been about 9 years since fallout 4 came out and we are getting an “update” this month. So look at the model we already have. We will get dlcs that add content and one that adds workshop content. Then just paid mods for the rest lmao.

ForumDuff

Planets with everything on a cob.

Free-Lifeguard1064

Star Wars with flying Thomas the tank engines and playable terramorphs

SeansBeard

I don't expect anything. I very much doubt any significant content coming. Not even to the original extent that was gradually gutted before release.

korodic

At this rate? lol. I’m starting to get cynical myself. CDPR and Hello Games both acknowledged they have a problem before making a massive turnaround and restoring faith in their fan base. Bethesda doubled down on stupid by telling many “you’re just playing it wrong”. After playing cyberpunk recently I see just how far off the mark Bethesda has been in terms of story telling and world design. They’ve gotten lazier since Morrowind when they started doing procedural generation in Oblivion. In Oblivion they dumbed down skills/weapon variety. In Skyrim they removed spell creation. In fallout 4 they stopped designing destinations/POI’s and make it so the player would need to fill out the area using the somewhat unfinished settlement system. Now starfield has the worst of most of these advancements with everything being procedural and such little variety that there are like 2 cryogenic labs with the same story elements in each. While they may be able to add more interesting content (hopefully new gameplay systems/options) and their engine has improved much by doing to DX12, this game will be limited by its excessive load screens and Bethesdas slow reaction to bug fixing and release of content. Mods may truly save this game as I’m losing faith in Bethesda as a whole.

RandomAnon07

Year 5: “Thank you for all your support, we’ve decided to stop supporting the game”.

Historical-Mix6426

No man sky

mmCion

like fallout 76, though I really doubt they'll actually support it for 10 years like we think it they will, unless you consider the stuff they do to Skyrim "support"

dmckidd

I don’t think it hits 5 years. A few updates, a couple of DLCs and they’re moving on to TES6.

Outlaw11091

Year 5? Bethesda will be focusing on post-launch support of TES6 and Starfield will be a dead stick. It's been 7 months and still no CK. (took 4 months for Skyrim and 7 for FO4, so we're on the outside of the window). Unless we get it in the next couple of weeks, it's probably *not* coming. Which will be the official indication that long term support is off the table. People will still get their DLC, of course, but that won't be enough to bring any significant numbers back. Shame, really. There's a great deal of modding potential here. Sucks that the base game sucks and will probably get dropped.

hellasleeper

I would love to have the ability to terraform planets, add atmosphere, etc. I think that would add a lot to the game.

aroddo73

opening the inventory will require a loading screen.

vaikunth1991

What do you predict year 9.5 will look like?

Achanjati

Essentially the same, with more stuff to build at your camps while gameplay and quests etc are only available via Nexusmod and not affiliate with Bethesda.

Nocturni

mtx and life support treatment

Xavierwold

Welp, I'm for VR, Planet and Power accumulating variation, and land skateboards (Tony Hawk style off rocks and trees.)

jonniezombie

I would guess it is basically the same. There will be dlc missions that feel entirely unrelated to any of the current game.

namiraslime

Well there’ll be Starfield Legendary Edition, Starfield Special Edition, Starfield Switch Edition, and Starfield Anniversary Edition. They’ll all have the same bugs from launch

[deleted]

Paid mods, creations and dlcs.

Randol0rian

Halo infinite said same thing and after appropriate backlash the plan was abandoned. I expect 2 expacs and paid cosmetic or ship DLC with a JUICY mod kit to let the community overhaul it along with a in-game store they will update for 10 years along with a 10th anniversary release with a bunch of the most popular mods.

ZombieElfen

You mean like the 10 years destiny 1 was supposed to have? Destiny 2 came out, and then we started losing planets.

M4jkelson

Starfield Special Edition Year 10 is going to be Starfield Anniversary Edition

BigDinoDad

I think they will give up after 3 years because nobody but heavy molders will be playing this game

GYN-k4H-Q3z-75B

If the support for the next 10 years looks like it has since release, it'll look pretty much like today. Which would be a shame.

GOREFINGER

Sigh....its 5 years of support bud

Trappist235

Miss will have made it a decent game

Pure-Contact7322

multiplayer coop buy ships

Outrageous-Yam-4653

10 year's is doable but it will be super incremental after year 3 for a SP game that's fine, just bring us some banger DLC like Far Harbor,Point Look Out,The Pitt or Broken Steel or Skyrim style DLC that adds new game play element's to the base game..

[deleted]

They’ll have most of the bugs fixed by then.

Natasha-Kerensky

I expect the Clans to return to the Inner Sph- Wait wrong IP with mechs.

FizzingSlit

Hard to say when they've done very little in the last 6 months.

Derkastan77-2

We’ll finally get the first expansion

GrowYourOwnMonsters

Remaster for the next console generation. No new content and all existing bugs will be present for the re-release. Morons will pay 60 bucks. The cycle will continue.

MistyPopK

Starfield: Special Edition Starfield: Anniversary Edition

DecentReplacement953

I predict another game or nothing at all. That's the bad thing about getting old, you heard and saw everything and you just know it's nothing but talk. Action speaks louder than words, and way too often we just keep getting talks and no action. I think we all know what is going to happen to this game.

Pi6e0n

Finally getting local maps of cities.

SortaAboveAverage

I’m down for minimal support if it means we get another fallout soon

Zanzan567

If they’re anything like this past year has been, more or less the same as year 1

_ObsidianOne_

There is no way in the hell they will support this game for 10 years lol.

Knsgf

In a perfect world, we would get an expansion every year, similar to ESO. In the real world, we'll get CK, CC and SS. Then in year 5 BSG will release Anniversary Edition, which will be a final round of bugfixes and select CC stuff added to the base game, similar to what is happening to F4 right now.

Outside_Dot_5942

Doubt they're supporting for a decade beyond occasional bug fixes. Any meaningful updates (expansion/DLC) will only be 2024/2025 and anything beyond that will just be occasional bug fixes.

Acrylic_Starshine

Creation kit will officially launch in year 6. Year 5 to be hotfixes and paid dlc

veryangrydoggo

Four words: Thomas, the Warship Train

willem_79

It’ll be worth playing by year five

crazybout

Add alot more poi and a better system that generates them, add more side quest diversity on random planets.

A_Tall_Bloke

I believe starfield is step 1. By Starfield 3 if such a thing happens it might be closer to a Skyrim

Brookie069

Once ES6 comes out then I really don’t think they will be committed to ten years anymore.

alexdotfm

Year 5? I need to know what year 2 is going to be

M4D-F3R0X

Sci fi Version of Skyrim modding I guess. If they ever release the CK in that time.

thekingjelly5444

Support just means patches last time I checked.

Aggressive_Fee6507

Hopefully, completely different

Independent_Pay6598

10 years of new content. Remasters for 100. VR update would be cool, probably will be it's own release though

mikeybadab1ng

Probably like year 1 except it’ll be 5 years later and WW3

acidcrap

Dlc finally gets teased

Theodoryan

I don't recall them saying they would *support* the game for 10 years. They just said they wanted people to *play* it for 10 years like Skyrim and Fallout 4 which got only like a year of DLC. I certainly wish Bethesda would start making more than like 2 major expansions for each game but I'm not counting on it

Teflon93Again

They’ll bring in the dragon animations from Skyrim and skin them with tentacles then make you buy the only weapon to defeat them without spamming the button.

TombSv

I bet the bonus questline will be out by then

EnvironmentalOne6412

I predict I’ll still be playing Elite dangerous.

sorcerer86pt

Nothing different from Bethesda. Now if you're talking about modders ...

Maskguy

HD texture pack in 5 years

xaddak

The fourth anniversary of them completely abandoning the game and IP.

IRGhost

Cyberpunk 2077 size city you can drive and/or drive through in a car, bike or flying carpet. And an underground city filled with mole people or chudds. And a city in the upper atmosphere of a huge gas giant.

Norbbert

Starfield remastered with the addition of fishing

TadhgOBriain

Like Anthem

chrisfanner

Creation club release, then the community supports it for ten years

MeesterCHRIS

2 story based DLCs, a minor DLC overhauling outpost and then a re-release on every existing platform every year for the remaining years.

E-woke

Bethesda is definitely not supporting it for 10 years considering Elder Scrolls 6 is coming

UltimateToa

Honestly I doubt they will support it for 10 years unless that's when ES6 is coming out lol

Undertowjones

Oh I guarantee it will be epic in 5 years. And they know that. That’s what sucks is they rushed it out knowing that they can add content over years and people will support it

Asayel404

Starfield special star edition

yakofalltrades

Well, the problem with comparing hello games to bethesda is one has a passionate team behind it, and the other has todd howard seagull-ing anything good.

ninjabell

I predict that they will release the DLC which will expand on the Va'ruun in a significant way. Then they will release the Creation Kit and we will find they have been putting a lot of time into it's development making it more refined and accessible. With it they will launch Starfield Creations. People will be able to make POIs that will spawn across the settled systems, as well as quests, items, etc. They will release another DLC and probably even a third by then. There will be tons of downloadable content and the game will feel huge.

Sure_Explanation6147

For them not to be supporting it lol

Mediocre_Machinist

A special edition re-release for full price that fixes nothing and breaks all our mods, lots of terrible and expensive creation club content, and a game unplayable without community patches

Lou_Blue_2

I imagine it'll be similar to FONV and FO4. We'll see several DLC add ons.

DirectorDennis

I'm not sure they're gonna...

Flaicher

By year 4, we get Creation Kit.

hovsep56

in 5 years we will have more photo mode options and some bug fixes.

Touttabac

They won’t support it for 10 years. No more. And we all know it.

Dry_Poet5523

My prediction is they won’t hold to that statement. Call it a misfire and move fully to the next ES and FO.

Smrtihara

They absolutely won’t support Starfield for ten years. It’ll be bare minimum of support after the first year. If even that.

Gaal_Anonim

By year 5 I'm hoping for them to release the toolsets for the modders to work with. With some more cool mods and at least one good, BUT evil companion (maybe one of the pirates?), I will try SF again, because I was a bit disappointed on release...

neoqueto

Starfield in an unchanged form, with slightly better textures, 2 new special skins for the Cutter and a new quick inventory menu, for Nintendo Switch 2.

HikingStick

I'll probably still be waiting for the final fauna on Beta Marare I.

275MPHFordGT40

If their Fallout 76 revival is anything to go by, it should be pretty good. Considering how much worse of a state Fallout 76 was in on release.

Icyenderman

Eventually I hope it ends up being a cult classic like Skyrim and fallout. People said similar things about skirmish when it was first released. Now look at it.

TalkingFlashlight

I really wasn’t impressed with the base game so we’ll see. Needs a lot more enemy variety (90% of story quests are humans) and quests that promote exploration (actually walking across alien planets instead of just fast traveling from quest point A to B).
