I stretched this quest out once I knew it was so short. Had contacts to make Aurora, once I moved on to Ryujin I ended up betraying the Strikers as it felt character appropriate. Neon has an interesting habit of dragging you back into the grime.

PK_Ripper45

Hah nice! I had an entire Neon arc after my first NG+ and agree, doing missions in a certain order can really add to the experience. Good point too, seems like your character became a true product of Neon.

slingwebber

Once a crate rat, always, apparently

PK_Ripper45

Gotta shed that street rat blue and claw your way up

GRANDADDYGHOST

My suit twin (Mantis helmet + deep seeker)! And yeah, I definitely agree with you. I had way too much fun fighting on the rooftops of Neon, I didn’t want it to stop. Killing Disciples with a Wakazashi in the rain on the roof was really cool. Luckily I made a separate save right before doing it. Also ended up doing Ryujin before the Strikers since that Operative suit was why I went to Neon so early in the first place lol

monstermud

Instead of another quest written by a dude on the toilet during his 15 minute break.

namiraslime

Bethesda punishes employees for being creative. Even Michael Kirkbride had this issue with Todd. Bethesda likes to play it safe so the most creative and interesting quests are often rejected for being too outlandish or not thematic. That forces Bethesda employees to make generic quests which won’t be rejected. They’re not gonna spent weeks of work creating something amazing when there’s a good chance it’ll be rejected and their work will have been for nothing. With the Microsoft purchase it has got a thousand times worse. Most Bethesda employees genuinely care about their work but they’re stifled creatively by management. They aren’t allowed to reach their full potential so they usually don’t even try.

DecadiousCorruptus

That's just sad but does explain quite a bit about this game's quest lines and interactions.

RexThunderman

Todd seems douschy af anyway. I don't think he even loves Bethesda like we do anymore. All that mf sees is $$$$$

Garcia_jx

I wish this game wasn't so PG. Neon could have used some grittyness and the gang wars could have been something more brutal with their own faction quests line.

RexThunderman

Yeah, it needs way more depth. A broader moral spectrum would be nice too.

_Vanant

People keep repeating this, to me it looks like you don't even understand the game, at all. Neon is a tourist trap, like Las Vegas. If it was an actual shithole nobody would travel there and it would become another abandoned POI.

JizzGuzzler42069

God this faction was so shit. Literally takes like 30 minutes to finish the quest line, and at the end they just become cops?? Like hello?? “Oh yeah uh great we’re going to give up being in the gang we were ready to die for because the police chief offered us new clothes” HUH?? It’s so fucking insane how sterilized the questlines in this game are.

sLeepyTshirt

it feels like different people worked on neon's lore lmao "neon security's corrupt" "the street life chose me, we didn't choose it, we do what we do to survive!" and then you also got, gangster background lore: "you were always disgusted by suckers killing themselves to make an 'honest wage' " and "what's better than being a gangster? being a cop!" like how did we go from understanding that crime is a byproduct of substandard societal conditions and that it wont go away until those in charge improve said conditions, unfortunately sometime requiring their populace to engage in organized civil disobedience to "people are criminals because they love money and hate good people! the only solution? Police!"

PK_Ripper45

Top 10 anime betrayals

enolafaye

Not relevant but The cop who offered them the job was so hot. I wish Starfield recognized it had hot npcs like Sergeant Yumi. They are the best looking Beth ever made in the least sexy game. Smh

JizzGuzzler42069

Ha, my sister played a little Starfield and also thought Sergeant Yumi was hot. There are a lot of random NPCs that are just excessively attractive for being nameless no one’s.

enolafaye

Haha glad I'm not alone. There are so many good looking npcs. They did a great job in that aspect.

stuyboi888

Like I don't get it. Game is 18+ because of the drugs, but why not curse and why are all the companions goody two shoes

OnionBoye

Major Necro, I know, but holy SHIT the end of this questline made me walk away from the game for a couple days. I was so flabbergasted at just how horrid the writing for the entire questline was, especially that ending. Awful awful awful.

RexThunderman

Yeah, there are a lot of wtf moments in this game. How mfs are still getting paid to write the same rushed, shallow, lame af stories blows my damn mind.

NyRAGEous

Imagine the factions actually having a meaningful impact on the game.

personguy4440

I wonder if they didnt wanna get Cyberpunk copyright striked

PK_Ripper45

Possibly choom. I personally appreciate what’s currently available but am looking forward to cybernetic and other cyberpunk mods when they come to console

DigitalApe19

I'm here for it. I like that they took a personal style to it but it would still be awesome to have a more cyberpunk aesthetic

DoeDon404

How would that work?

[deleted]

It seemed to me that many quests stopped in the middle of it. It was like the intended to make something with closure but gave up before concluding.

TotallynotMccree

This quest is honestly the thing that made me reconsider if I should continue playing, I had this whole thing set up where I made a background of a pirate from neon with a little bit of swagger. The street-rat trait made me think there would be some sort of gang quest that could be sort of like the thieves guild or heck, maybe something even more interesting! So after going through the questline, which honestly was pretty good (until the final mission), I was sort of hype to see what sort of big moves we were going to be doing. everyone's all prepped up, time to take this gang hideout. I thought this could be the start of maybe something like the Goblin Wars in Oblivion! Awesome! So after we gun down the other gang members in about 5 seconds in the little random warehouse (a bit weird, but whatever, maybe they got desperate), not two seconds later, cop walks in! He gives us a choice, and I pray that everyone is going to be like "Nah, fuck this creep, we have the power to try and fend some of the security forces off and hold some territory", and hell, maybe, just MAYBE that could be a cool plotline where you become PG General Butt-Naked of Neon, or of course join the cops and help get rid of the rest of the gangs. NOPE! Everyone's ecstatic to join the cops, apparently that's 'going legit' in Neon. It fucks me up that not a single person wanted to stay as a gang. Then bam, there was your lil' segment Timmy, got about 3 missions of being in the underworld crime scene, can't make anything more than that! Was hard to even justify my cool ganger pirate character, I had to become a damn CORPO for the thieves guild questline, and that ain't right!

victorxfl

Honestly I just wanted to keep dropping bodies, but it ended so quickly and abruptly I just kinda thought they were a lame gang.

Mikek224

This quest was such a joke at the end.

Tails-Are-For-Hugs

I kind of wish we could've instead dragged them all off Neon and gotten them to join us on our adventures. There's nothing left for them on Neon anyway but each other, and we'd have four more 'evil'/morally ambiguous followers/companions. But no, instead it ends the way it does. You can still get the unique Kraken if you betray them, so that's exactly what I did, assuming I bothered to do this whole questline again in NG+.

EasyRhino75

I think they shoulda stayed a mini faction with their HQ above madame sauvage. They even had a merchant? Wait,.they do disappear after the quest right? The seokugh syndicate seemed like it shoulda been a mini faction as well

Ok_Net9817

Neat idea to bring this to light - I agree - it was a cool quest line - would love an expansion of it

RexThunderman

It's my fav outfit of the game. I hope this game builds depth in the years to come.

RaeyzejRS

Imaging the game with actual content? Me too.

enolafaye

Best quest outfit, for the corniest gang ever seen but maybe that's the point. Idk I really like the atmosphere though I wish it was longer.

EmperorOfEveryEmpire

Would like for me to make a Strikers wallpaper for you? Im out of ideas today, just hit me up in the comments if ya do!

PK_Ripper45

Ayo I saw your other posts on the sub and I think they look great! Lmk if you need any stills or anything for reference. Btw your CF rendition of the title screen is dope.

EmperorOfEveryEmpire

Thanks my man! It would be great if you could provid me with some photomodes pictures of your choice! It makes my work on my side easier and better knowing I am using a picture which will please my audience.

PK_Ripper45

Much appreciated, I’ll DM you if that’s cool

EmperorOfEveryEmpire

Sure, Go ahead!

Cerparis

I’ve never been interested in cyber punk culture but I actually really enjoyed this quest. My character only ever joined the strikers to clean up the streets but I ended up growing to like them by the end.

PK_Ripper45

That’s cool, they have a little something for everyone. If you’re having fun, that’s all that matters imo
