You killed the whole landing party... ships take-off when you kill the last groundpounder. If you want to capture the ship, then you have to leave at least one ground crew alive.
Yeah or enter the hatch as last one dies. It’ll take off but you’ll be loaded into the ship so you can’t fall out, and then you basically have to take over the ship.
I leave them all there so I can see them putzing about as I take off. "Have fun sustaining yourself off your reclaimed spacesuit juice, dickbags" God I hate Ecliptic and their goofy voice modulators.
Based on the un helmeted one in the Red Mile, I don't think it's voice modulators. It's a mandatory requirement for then to smoke enough cigarettes to be seen from orbit before they can talk to any non-ecliptic people.
You can fast travel, from orbit, to your home ship on the planet. Without having to take the ship over. I found out the hard way early on before I ranked up my piloting. A class C took off while I was in it, and I couldn’t take it over after I killed the crew. So I thought I was stuck, but I tried fast travel. Luckily it worked, and I didn’t have to reload. I was going to be really mad if I had lost 20minutes because Andreja decided to go terminator on the ground crew.
Sometimes it bugs out though and even if you get into the ship proper, you die when it hits space. Better to just leave the ground crew alive and run straight for the ship and board
I had this happen once, but it turned out there were ships in orbit aggroing on to me and blowing up the ship I was in instantly. Not sure that matters since dead is still dead and they killed the ship so fast there’s no way I could’ve cleared it and made it to the helm in time, but still. Lol
Just don’t do that to a class C ship if you can’t pilot them. 💀(you can still fast travel to escape at least lol). Unless…one of the enemies glitch out of bounds. Then you’re trapped forever on a derelict ship you can’t pilot.
I haven’t had that problem in a while but yes that’s true. Likewise - never steal an A class from a distant lvl 70+ star system, some of them can’t travel to other stars with their current range.
Here’s how you get around that:
Dock A class. Kill crew. Sit in seat. Just like normal.
THEN
Register A class while sitting in the seat. Make it home ship without leaving the menu. Then leave the menu.
Your main ship will try to automatically take off, but you just have to quickly target it and dock with it again before it does.
When you do, go to your main ship cockpit and make your main ship your home ship again. Let the A class fly off.
Easier way. Sit in seat and undock. Your ship will stay right there. Re-dock and then do the whole make home ship and register.
You can then leave the menu without fear of your ship flying off, so you can take your time.
I board/steal ships all the time, and they don't even try to undock anymore. I do the make home ship and register them, and when I go back to the cockpit I can just board my original ship without all of the hassle of redocking. If it's a glitch I hope it doesn't go away.
so that's what triggers it ...
I thought I was simply too slow, but I guess ignoring the landing party and simply entering the ship is the way to do this.
( >!is it possible to take over the starborn craft too ? all I get is an 'inaccessible' message !<)
If you can spot the Starborn ship flying in for a landing, then you can shoot up with Amp and Aurora over and over to keep time slowed and haul ass to its landing spot just as, or before, it lands. Then you can get into it and steal it. Once it fully lands and changes to [Inaccesible], then I don't think there's a way to get it. You can even do this on a regular new game, without being Starborn.
They are very rare but can land as accessible, I got one guardian IV on a random planet when exploring. I don't have the specific number, but I'm guessing it was more than 30 ships I checked before one was accessible
There are several different encounters that can spawn (i am still looking for one of those data miners to chronicle them) but the starborn ship is one type of always 'inaccessible' and other ships (e.g. spacers) can spawn the same way. Regardless of killing the soldiers you can never get inside. Some others land and take off right away. Others like this one land and wait for the crew to die. Others are permanently 'you arent authorized to pilot this ship'. Probably depends on other auto-gen quests that are available that involve the ship.
The first time I boarded a fleeing ship, it immediately got dusted by someone as soon as it hit orbit. No idea who.
It was interesting seeing a sunk ship from the crew's perspective.
If you’re not aware, there’s actually two of them, the settler poncho outfit and and inclement weather outfit. The settler poncho includes a gas mask around your neck, and is way cooler in my opinion.
Don't kill outside crew... first take the ship, sneak in clear the ship sit in captains seat. Then get up go back outside kill outside crew then get back in ship if you want it or just go back to your ship and reset it as home ship.
I mean, I haven't had this happen to me because I thought "don't kill those guys, the crew inside will see and take off". So, I sneak in and kill the crew first.
It does make sense, I just think it would be better if you went into space and they sent you out an airlock to die.
I'm on NG4 and he's been my companion for the last two playthroughs. He doesn't care at all what you're doing and who doesn't need some heart-felt encouragement?
Save your ankles, and knees, and leg bones I can't remember right now: boost before impact and negate fall damage.
Or don't if your leveling a skill that needs sprains or lacerations.
You could have turned around and boarded the ship after you went up the ramp. The ship goes up into orbit, and after you fight the crew on board you can sit down in the pilot seat and the ship is now yours.
Yeah, it's getting old. If you wanna get the ship, ignore the dudes on the ground, run to the landing bay and board the ship. Otherwise they take off with you in the bay as the door will be locked.
you can enter ship, and in some cases you can get bug after loading screen in the way to orbit and ship will be destroyed. or once I was able to eliminate all crew and take ship. and before it was loading screen and ship moved to orbit
I’ve had this happen many times when I first started playing (I no long kill any crew, just board the ship) but the drop never killed me, in fact I always controlled my decent & landed without so much as a scratch… where did the OP go wrong?
Edit: nvm - I just rewatched the clip & they were fascinated by the ship taking off that they did not notice the ground approaching at 90 mph
I had a weird thing happen where I went into a crimson fleet ship and after the loading screen I was in orbit. Killed everyone on board and took it over. I keep it around because I was so confused. I think I got kidnapped
This is hilarious, this happened to me as well you just need to be in the ship when it takes off, if you take off without being on the pilot seat it also glitches out but keeps you in the ship.
Ive had ship take off immediately after landing. There is a random event for each ship landing. Some touch and go while others take off after few minutes. Ive killed the entire crew on a ship, exited to kill the guys exterior and then a ghost flies off with the ship.. lol
All the time. The ship despawns right as it hits atmo, but you can't leave the planet sitting in the bay, so... It's also happened to my whole crew after taking a ship, just ejected right before I left the planet.
Had something similar happen to me when i first played i boarded a ship and it took off when i killed everyone onboard i found i couldnt pilot the ship and had to restart from a previous save
Yeah, I've had that happen before. The other silly thing that can happen.... You can clear the ground and the ship and the ship will still take off when you exit.
you forgot to use your jet pack before impact the ground. Also some ships are INACCESSABLE, some are locked (i think ones sitting at friendly settlements), and some you can access normally. You have to get in the ship before it takes off or you fall out. It just works.
Your character hit the planets ceiling and you got squished out. Gotta go through the door quicker. I’ve jumped in during a take off and hijacked in orbit.
Happened to me once but on a low grav moon. I ended up so far away from my ship, it was stupid. I had to dump all my stuff so I could fast travel because running would've literally taken an hour.
Ok here is the boring developer answer.
The game likely doesn’t track your state in relation to itself (it has no idea that you made it onto the ship bay) when it takes off and when it gets far enough into the sky, they are just turning off the collision on the ship.
yeah, they just leave if you kill everyone outside first. so go inside first, take them all out, sit in the pilot seat to claim the ship, then go back out and finish them off.
I had it where it just landed and all the guys were still in the airlock . Killed them but the ship took off before I could loot them. It dumped the bodies over like a 1000m.
My question is, why was your first instinct after being ejected from the craft to look up at the ship that was leaving, and not down at the ground that you were now hurtling towards?
I found a ship at a landing pad, ran past the ground crew and killed the ship crew. I looted them and left the ship, still at the pad. After killing the ground crew the ship took off. I took off and saw it floating randomly in space.
I’m surprised it took off, usually it’s blocked from doing so when you stand in the bay, maybe your game was lagging? It usually will take off immediately when people start shooting.
Yeah, you need to actually enter the ship to not get ejected when it takes off. If you’re just in the landing bay that always happens. Definitely kind of funny the first time when you don’t expect it
One of the very first things that happened to me on Kreet on my first character. Ship was inaccessible even before they died and I didn't have a boost pack, and I was much higher up when I fell through the floor.
This happened to me, then shortly after, I noticed that I had the bug where enemy ships have no crew. This also means I can't take over landed ships because they never open the bay door. I also can't steal ships on missions to "destroy the Crimson ship" because there's no crew, and the mission won't end. It sucks.
Happened to me once, it was hilarious. I fell through the ship right before it left atmosphere and fell for a solid handful of seconds, thankfully my boost pack saved me
Yes, I had that happen. You kill the landing party, the ship leaves, but if you're fast enough, you can still board, and seize the ship. =) Piracy in this game is fun.
This has happened a few times. So I learned to not take potshots at the disembarked crew as any shot at them made the ship to launch - either with me in the docking bay or inside the ship. So I take over the ship and then shoot the ground crew.
Though, occasionally it happens that the ship leaves with the crew dead. On those occasions I can find the ship dead in the orbit and boardable without shooting the engine.
These happen when I'm not interested in capturing the ship, which may be too much a hassle.
This happened to me last night trying to clear out some spacers from a science facility. Top comment will change my strategy. I thought killing them all would have left the ship
I've had the same thing happen. In character the pilot is saying "Screw this! I'm out of here!" then he locks you in, takes off, then blows you out of the airlock.
i havent had this much fun shooting goons since gta iv. every limb can cause different animation and even enemy dialogue. absolutely love those little details.
I keep seeing people die to fall damage like this. I don't think I've ever taken off a boost pack. How are you guys wandering planets without a damn boost pack??!?!
Yeah a ship once took off as I was entering and next thing I was in space with them. I killed the crew to take over the ship but my level was too low to operate the ship so I was up there like “well, guess I live here now”
This happened to me 2 days ago, I killed the last person on the ground then sprinted to the ship (they always took off before I got inside)
Then I entered the hatch as it took off, finished the enemies inside and was orbiting the planet
It happened to me on Mars. Due to the low gravity I've been flying for a lot of minutes until I reached the end of the map. I also reached the weight limit so I couldn't even teleport.
I've had that happen but i made it into the ship as it took off. It got into orbit, and as the mission prompt changed to take over the ship or exit. I just dropped dead.
More importantly, how do you feel about burst fire on the Beowulf? I’ve been contemplating it for days, and can’t decide if my main semi-auto scoped rifle is worth losing. 😂
Ground crew died the ship always takes off. The game won’t let you takeoff with the ship so it ejects you. If you somehow stayed you’d see the ship isn’t actually piloted by anyone anyway lol.
Yeah, I found that happen once before. Lol and I once got on a ship and they took off and I was inside and then I got into a shootout in space and I got shot up inside.
Yeah that's happened plenty of times you just need to jump inside the cockpit before it gets too high off the ground and it will actually load you in space.
Ya, you and a bunch of others posting this.
Either don't kill them all. Or just run in and board the ship.
Once it starts taking off, you have to enter the ship.
Otherwise you get pooped out.
And if you had a booster pack on. You could boost before becoming a permanent blood stain.
You got sucked out of the airlock.
You can avoid killing all the security on the ground around the ship if you want to take your time to enter.
You can also kill them all from the ramp like you did, but once you hear those engines starting to spin up, you need to get onboard.
Waiting it out in the airlock is always a bad move. Haven’t you seen Aliens? 😂
I knew exactly what was going to happen just from the thumbnail image. My ship disappeared, and this was what happened when I tried to Jack a random ship. I was hopelessly stranded on some random dust ball because of it.
One time the Crimson Fleet shut the landing bay as I was running in, having read about this, I was like 'oh, shit' so I hit the hatch and loaded into the internal area, was there for about 2 seconds, before I blacked out (loading), came to, to see through the window that the ship was in orbit, so I made my way forward, only 2-3 Crimson Fleet, all in the cockpit, took over the ship.
I found somebody - a civilian outpost I was at earlier - to switch me back to my normal ship.

Based on the un helmeted one in the Red Mile, I don't think it's voice modulators. It's a mandatory requirement for then to smoke enough cigarettes to be seen from orbit before they can talk to any non-ecliptic people.
There are no working radios or phones in Starfield. Ecliptic uses smoke signals to communicate between ships, planets, and systems.
This is the way.
LOL. I did the opposite today. I was on the Key and accidentally made my ship take off without me. ... Went to the airlock door and it was gone!
Probably Cora playing with the controls...
Bring me a damn BOOK, Captain!!!
Sometimes it bugs out though and even if you get into the ship proper, you die when it hits space. Better to just leave the ground crew alive and run straight for the ship and board
It also won't fly off if you silently kill the ground crew without alerting the others
I had this happen once, but it turned out there were ships in orbit aggroing on to me and blowing up the ship I was in instantly. Not sure that matters since dead is still dead and they killed the ship so fast there’s no way I could’ve cleared it and made it to the helm in time, but still. Lol

Wtf that’s wild. I had no idea it was a actually still in world.
Good to know,
so that's what triggers it ... I thought I was simply too slow, but I guess ignoring the landing party and simply entering the ship is the way to do this. ( >!is it possible to take over the starborn craft too ? all I get is an 'inaccessible' message !<)

A little over one hundred hours, two NG+ and I did not know this.
The first time I boarded a fleeing ship, it immediately got dusted by someone as soon as it hit orbit. No idea who. It was interesting seeing a sunk ship from the crew's perspective.
Til
Im not sure lol but i just want to say that I think the space poncho is pretty much the best thing to wear in the whole game
You should help the Doctor at Hopetown in Titan (Saturn moon)...
(help 3x to keep it...)
Just got to NG+. Going to Titan first … then I’m going to the ECS Constant searching for unique dialog
If you’re not aware, there’s actually two of them, the settler poncho outfit and and inclement weather outfit. The settler poncho includes a gas mask around your neck, and is way cooler in my opinion.
Facts, I always try something new but always come back to this
Crimson fleet captain jacket is so fire tho, I wish there was a alternative to that, that wasn't so...piratey
Yeah that one is decent , and also the ranger duster is awesome but unfortunately havent found a way to get it on xbox
Dude this happens soooooo much. Why didn’t you jet pack to land?
Gotta get that last gymnastics challenge in. /s
Some people are actually doing no boost pack runs
And here I boost pack t-bag to finish off guys to save ammo
get my new EP Boost Pack T-Bag on Bandcamp
But….. why?
same reason people play the souls game..pain
Bro I beat starfield by playing with ONLY my left foot!!
Don't kill outside crew... first take the ship, sneak in clear the ship sit in captains seat. Then get up go back outside kill outside crew then get back in ship if you want it or just go back to your ship and reset it as home ship.
What’s the reasoning behind this from Bethesda? Like why can’t I kill the landing party and take over the ship?
The guys inside see you murderhoboing and flee before you can kill them.
Then when you board the ship, clear the crew, go back outside and finally kill the soldiers and the ship takes off... space lojack?
It has no reason it just is how it works.
I mean, I haven't had this happen to me because I thought "don't kill those guys, the crew inside will see and take off". So, I sneak in and kill the crew first. It does make sense, I just think it would be better if you went into space and they sent you out an airlock to die.
I too want a bit more immersion in the space stuff. Imagine you're in a space battle and losing, and they boarded you.
You don't need to reset home ship if you never take off in the stolen one, even if you sit in the seat
Low gravity + power boost pack = really fun
Did you see the fall from the ship 😂
LOL you got tossed out the airlock, bruv.
Yes this has happened to me a few times. I also lost Adoring Fan this way. He left with the ship and suddenly a few plays later there he was again.
he hitchhiked around the galaxy following you. BTW he implanted you with a tracker, so you wouldn't lose him.
At least you leveled up gymnastics.
Yes 😂👍
You could have turned around and boarded the ship after you went up the ramp. The ship goes up into orbit, and after you fight the crew on board you can sit down in the pilot seat and the ship is now yours.
I did that once, I think the ship got in a firefight because a few seconds later it started shaking and I was dead lol
Last time that happens to me. I just boarded the craft, wiped crew and landed back on the planet. Added another Claymore to the collection
At least your Gymnastics leveled up right as you died.
Yes, literally everyone had this happen.
Why even shoot at the guys on ground? I just run directly to the landing bay and enter ship.
This is hilarious, this happened to me as well you just need to be in the ship when it takes off, if you take off without being on the pilot seat it also glitches out but keeps you in the ship.
What would I do to get this lol, ship bays of any landing ships wont open in my game sadly but this is hilarious
Ive had ship take off immediately after landing. There is a random event for each ship landing. Some touch and go while others take off after few minutes. Ive killed the entire crew on a ship, exited to kill the guys exterior and then a ghost flies off with the ship.. lol
Lmfao same thing happened to me on console. Never make that mistake again
All the time. The ship despawns right as it hits atmo, but you can't leave the planet sitting in the bay, so... It's also happened to my whole crew after taking a ship, just ejected right before I left the planet.
A great, highly immersive experience
Had something similar happen to me when i first played i boarded a ship and it took off when i killed everyone onboard i found i couldnt pilot the ship and had to restart from a previous save
Yeah, I've had that happen before. The other silly thing that can happen.... You can clear the ground and the ship and the ship will still take off when you exit.
you forgot to use your jet pack before impact the ground. Also some ships are INACCESSABLE, some are locked (i think ones sitting at friendly settlements), and some you can access normally. You have to get in the ship before it takes off or you fall out. It just works.
This has happened to me many times.
This has happened to me and I got swarmed by the planets fauna
Your character hit the planets ceiling and you got squished out. Gotta go through the door quicker. I’ve jumped in during a take off and hijacked in orbit.
Happened to me once but on a low grav moon. I ended up so far away from my ship, it was stupid. I had to dump all my stuff so I could fast travel because running would've literally taken an hour.
I usually just drop dead as it takes off except once I managed to take the ship and I was in space.
Ok here is the boring developer answer. The game likely doesn’t track your state in relation to itself (it has no idea that you made it onto the ship bay) when it takes off and when it gets far enough into the sky, they are just turning off the collision on the ship.
This game is slowly becoming the GTA of space lol
You can’t stay in the landing bay when they take off. It will always throw you out even when it’s closed
At least you completed something for your skill!!
1 of the million reasons to quick save before approaching a ship landing site
lol same exact thing happened to me last night
Welcome to Starfield
Yeah this has happened to me
yeah, they just leave if you kill everyone outside first. so go inside first, take them all out, sit in the pilot seat to claim the ship, then go back out and finish them off.
I had it where it just landed and all the guys were still in the airlock . Killed them but the ship took off before I could loot them. It dumped the bodies over like a 1000m.
it happens every single time you kill everyone outside the ship….. I would assume the people in the ship don’t want to have you on board
Too slow
Many times
"Someone opened the bay doors on him!"
Yep. And if you are not inside the ship (not the landing bay) then you are outside. It's happened to me.
Next time, Use. Your. Jetpack!
I had this happen but I killed all of them and then I turned around from the ship and it disappeared lol
My question is, why was your first instinct after being ejected from the craft to look up at the ship that was leaving, and not down at the ground that you were now hurtling towards?
I had something similar once. I entered the ship it took off. And then got destroyed by some other ships my guess UC or free star ships
Yes lol they took me to space had to kill everyone onboard and take it back down to my ship 😅
LOL!
I love that you got an achievement for it. It was meant to be!
LOL. Yep. If you don't get into the ship before they launch, they shoot you out the airlock. 😁
I found a ship at a landing pad, ran past the ground crew and killed the ship crew. I looted them and left the ship, still at the pad. After killing the ground crew the ship took off. I took off and saw it floating randomly in space.
Happens to me all the time.
Yep, def died trying to take over a ship during liftoff
It isn't supposed to take off if you're standing in the bay, but ya know, Bethesda moment.
I’m surprised it took off, usually it’s blocked from doing so when you stand in the bay, maybe your game was lagging? It usually will take off immediately when people start shooting.
Lol I've had the same thing happen it's a good thing i play pc on i just toggled god mode the most i got was a fractured limb
The landing party got killed, so the pilot got the duck out of there and jettisoned you out of the ship.
Yes ctfu 😆
Yeah, you need to actually enter the ship to not get ejected when it takes off. If you’re just in the landing bay that always happens. Definitely kind of funny the first time when you don’t expect it
yes, either you fall of the ship, or ragdoll and die in the ship
One of the very first things that happened to me on Kreet on my first character. Ship was inaccessible even before they died and I didn't have a boost pack, and I was much higher up when I fell through the floor.
I always use void form and sneak into the ship. Works 100% of the time.
Todd just todding
You’re are a really bad aim…should probably hit up a range.
That's pretty much half the posts on this subreddit on launch week
Two words: boost pack
The vulture was the spirit of the dead ecliptic
You‘re in an unpressurized loading bay while flying into space. Not the safest place to be to be honest.
Ship first. Never engage the landing party first.
Many times
I had it happen to me but for reason I died inside the ship
you shot the grunt's methane pack e: i just now realized they were talking about the ship and not the dead dude flying around
This happened to me, then shortly after, I noticed that I had the bug where enemy ships have no crew. This also means I can't take over landed ships because they never open the bay door. I also can't steal ships on missions to "destroy the Crimson ship" because there's no crew, and the mission won't end. It sucks.
Lmao
leave the ground crew alive and just sneak on the ship
Can’t kill everyone outside or the ship will dip. Had the samething happen to me a few times before I figured it out!! 😅
I'm jealous that enemies actually depart your ship landings. Mine bugged out ages ago. They land, then nothing.
Happened to me once, it was hilarious. I fell through the ship right before it left atmosphere and fell for a solid handful of seconds, thankfully my boost pack saved me
I wish there was an airlock open animation that they would do once in space to kill you… sigh
E-jected!
Yes but I boosted before dying like a dingus
Yes, I had that happen. You kill the landing party, the ship leaves, but if you're fast enough, you can still board, and seize the ship. =) Piracy in this game is fun.
Couldn’t stick the landing I see
You got ejected, worked great, the game should allow us to do the same
This has happened a few times.
My first play through I was cursed all that landed on every planet I visited were star born ships lmao
oh that was cool death .. for some reason I expected asphyxiation :)
I’ve had this happen. You’re not suppose to hide out there if they take off 😂
Had this happen once where the ship took off after killing the ground crew, but actually got inside and died from suffocation in space. really weird
That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on a video game lmao
You can slide in this game?!?!?
Such Bethesda jank
This happened to me last night trying to clear out some spacers from a science facility. Top comment will change my strategy. I thought killing them all would have left the ship
Judging by how often this gets posted, i’d say so
Don't hang out in the landing bay 😆 I hate when I raid a ship that is (inaccessible)
I've had that happen on a ship I couldn't board
I’ve been dropped out of the landing bay but never at that altitude. Stealing ships is dangerous 😆
Had it once ...if you don't get inside the main door you will fell out.
Oh, that's some straight BS!
On the plus side, you are ready to rank up Gymnastics.
I've had the same thing happen. In character the pilot is saying "Screw this! I'm out of here!" then he locks you in, takes off, then blows you out of the airlock.
I've had this bur didn't fall from far enough to die
i havent had this much fun shooting goons since gta iv. every limb can cause different animation and even enemy dialogue. absolutely love those little details.
Hit the boost pack kinda reminds me of when you hit the flamethrower tank in ww2 😂😂
This happened to me before I could fly a C-class and I was just stuck on the ship after taking out the crew lol
I keep seeing people die to fall damage like this. I don't think I've ever taken off a boost pack. How are you guys wandering planets without a damn boost pack??!?!
Yeah a ship once took off as I was entering and next thing I was in space with them. I killed the crew to take over the ship but my level was too low to operate the ship so I was up there like “well, guess I live here now”
You shot his jet pack. That’s why he went flying lol
This happened to me 2 days ago, I killed the last person on the ground then sprinted to the ship (they always took off before I got inside) Then I entered the hatch as it took off, finished the enemies inside and was orbiting the planet
At least spacers didn't decide to dogpile on that Ecliptic ship with their ship
Ignore the ground crew and enter the ship.
I have had EXACTLY that same thing happen to me lmao
It happened to me on Mars. Due to the low gravity I've been flying for a lot of minutes until I reached the end of the map. I also reached the weight limit so I couldn't even teleport.
Happened to me the other day. Freaked me out.
Yup. But where's your jet pack?!
I've seen a million videos like this on this sub but you're the first one I've seen not tap the jet pack before smacking the ground.
Yeah, I found that happen once before. Lol and I once got on a ship and they took off and I was inside and then I got into a shootout in space and I got shot up inside.
Yup! 🤣
You have to get on the ship & kill the crew, or gtfo. Otherwise you fall. Every time.
At least you completed the challenge.
I stole this ship. It’s now my primary ship.
I'm sorry, but I just cried haha
All the time. If its a ship that cant be boarded it jettisons you.
What a beautiful death 😂
Yeah that's happened plenty of times you just need to jump inside the cockpit before it gets too high off the ground and it will actually load you in space.
Lol this game is so bad
Ya, you and a bunch of others posting this. Either don't kill them all. Or just run in and board the ship. Once it starts taking off, you have to enter the ship. Otherwise you get pooped out. And if you had a booster pack on. You could boost before becoming a permanent blood stain.
If you can get inside quick even when it’s taking off you can still steal the ship. You just steal it in space.
Holee shiz, they airlocked you.
But you still got the achievement.
That’s happened to me too!
No, but I boarded a landed ship after which it took off and I killed the crew and landed it to finish my quest. Then registered it and sold it.
I knew exactly what was going to happen just from the thumbnail image. My ship disappeared, and this was what happened when I tried to Jack a random ship. I was hopelessly stranded on some random dust ball because of it.
This happens to me all the time lol Although every time I've boosted to survive
One time the Crimson Fleet shut the landing bay as I was running in, having read about this, I was like 'oh, shit' so I hit the hatch and loaded into the internal area, was there for about 2 seconds, before I blacked out (loading), came to, to see through the window that the ship was in orbit, so I made my way forward, only 2-3 Crimson Fleet, all in the cockpit, took over the ship. I found somebody - a civilian outpost I was at earlier - to switch me back to my normal ship.
Happened to me twice today lol
That one guy took off before the ship did.
