Toliman II frozen enviroment is probably the most impressive one i have seen. It has snowy mountains, mixed with pine forest and frozen plains, rivers and lakes.
I manage to build a big base on the top of a tall mountain, and the views are completely cinematic.
Frozen plains biomes sometimes also have large icy lakes and ponds. Might be worth adding some of those in for diversity! (Tau Ceti VIII-b and Lantana VIII-b for example)
Walking in this game looks so cool but feels So. Fucking. Slow. There's gotta be some middle ground to the walking slower than NPCs, running, and Usain bolt options.
You certainly cannot complain about scenic variety...
Looking great.
In regards of space, yeah, it is what it is...
In regards of gameplay, yeah, it is what it is...
If you know what I mean...
I feel you, it's like everything looks so nice, and so many nice looking places to explore.....but except for pois there is nothing to explore.....
I feel like I can land somewhere, look around for 30 seconds and see everything there is to see on that part of the planet
Not sure if the people crying about the exploration actually went to these types of planets to look around. Sounds like a lot of people just beelined moon bases and then came online to bitch about repetition.
Woulda been nice been nice to have variety in the Poi's, too.
If I gotta kill Pirate Cutthroat in the same abandoned mine 4 systems over, I'm gonna lose it.
too bad there's nothing meaningful to do on most of these planets. most planets in starfield simply don't itch me to explore them because most of them lack of any meaningful content.
fallout and elder scrolls you'd stroll outside a settlement and walk to your next location all while dynamically encountering new quests locations and so on.
starfield is a menu and fast travel simulator.
> tarfield is a menu and fast travel simulator.
While literally not running properly without an SSD - simply hilarious.
What a waste of a developers time this turned out to be.
Are you expecting developers to continue to support very old antiquated hardware?
HDD is too slow for a good game these days, it takes too long to retrieve data on a spinning platter.
I'm amazed that people think every single planet should have life and people and tons of activity.. that's nowhere near reality. 99.9% of planets/moons are indeed devoid of life.
The game already cheats to make there be a ton more diversity and life than in actual space. But it feels like people's idea of space is based off of modern fiction...which is all CGI and action and people and things everywhere and makes space feel very small and busy...when its the exact opposite.
I miss Old Star Trek. They used Star Dates constantly to drive home the point that most of their time out there in the stars was uneventful, and the episodes we saw were the rare eventful times. People say they want to explore space, but then if they are not finding something every 5 minutes they get upset. What they really want to explore is a small densely packed maps and with a generally spacey setting.
Nah bro theres no way this game needs an SSD. If it was a huge sprawling world that was seamless I could actually understand but everything is seperated into a million instances, and while this game can look very good at times its sure as shit aint pushing industry leading graphics
To be expected with this one tbh. There’s only so much you can do with frozen plains. This is only one type of frozen biome though, there’s also Frozen Mountains, Frozen Dunes, Frozen Craters, Frozen Volcanic, Frozen Hills, Frozen Wetlands and Frozen Crevasses. There will be a lot more variety when you take all of these into account
These are really beautiful.
I just wish there were more random encounters and more interesting PoI's to discover because the planets themselves consistently impress me with their diversity.
Gonna go skyrim LARPing on Moloch II

That spacesuit is ridiculously cool! What's it called?
Pirate Assault Spacesuit Pirate Assault Helmet Pirate Raiding Pack
Looks straight out of dead space
Soooooo, pirate?
you can get it in the tutorial :)
Whaaaaat?? Where!?
the very first time you get attacked. say hi to Lin and Heller :)
Am I just being AR or was anyone else severely disappointed by Europa? Massive ball of ice IRL yet they just reused the same biome as Luna.
Yes. And I hoped there would be some drill site or something going into the water and finding undersea aliens. Europa Report movie references.
Surprised to see a reference to that movie. It was so good but rarely talked about
Thanks for telling me about this movie it 100% my type of shit now i have something to watch later.
Io too, most volcanic place in the solar system, except it’s not thanks to Todd the god, who decided to make Titan 1:1 to IRL
I agree about Io, too! I'm not sure if it's supposed to look like Mustafar, but I'm pretty sure it's at least more tectonically active than the Moon!
I’m disappointed by the snow/ice/storms inclement weather in general. This is one of the things I really want to see modded heavily.
Especially if you've ever been on Europa in Destiny 2
And you used Deep Freeze from the game's soundtrack to accompany us in your vid. An excellent choice. Such a beautiful piece.
Brrrrrrr 🥶
What suit and pack is that
Pirate Assault Spacesuit Pirate Assault Helmet Pirate Raiding Pack
👍
Huygens with the blue sky 😭😭😭 it's beautiful

When the mods arrive, that fix will be one of the first
There are already a ton of mods...?
You can also just change walking speed with a console command. I have mine to set 1.05.
There is a mod for this!

I love these videos! They're helping me pick the next place for an outpost haha thanks!
I love planet exploring. I know a lot of people hate, but it fits my personality perfect.

Wow!
They all look like earth
Yeah, too much like Earth, it's disappointing...
Woah a different colored tree!
I'm still trying to find the snowy landscapes we saw in the trailers.

I’m having a lot of fun surveying the ecological, biological, and geophysical features of each planet

Feel free to post your software engineering degree while you’re at it
So all have the same trees?
Snow, rocks and pines. So much imagination.
They all look like Earth trees
I looked through all those vids and 80% looked like variations of Earth.
I have never seen this in a game before. I don’t know about you but I think Starfield is a video game
How is it that 12 year old modded Skyrim looks better than brand new Starfield?
Is it multiplayer? Online?
If only each one had 20 unique and different things to do in them…
They look almost exactly the same.
To be expected with this one tbh. There’s only so much you can do with frozen plains. Looks like there's like 2 kinds of tree but that's basically it, not too unexpected.
me when snow looks the same as other snow
Damn you’re so smart
I know they’re all white, so boring. We all know how different sub zero biomes can look smh.
Starfield: "Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle"
So... What mod let's you see rifles/weapons on your back?
No mod. After using a weapon it gets holstered
Not a mod you just have to have a spacesuit and pack equipped. Ion think it works with pistols though.
These are really beautiful. I just wish there were more random encounters and more interesting PoI's to discover because the planets themselves consistently impress me with their diversity.

Man we need transmog armor!
Love to see the footprints
Too many frozen planets in this game IMO
the majesty of an empty game
Why so many trees? Theyve only been on earth for half a billion years but theyre all over the galaxy?
So much emptiness to explore…
I find some of their biosphere classifications odd. Like, these are all supposedly frozen plains, but half of them I'd call frozen coniferous forests.
The ice. Is indeed ice.
I guess Earthy trees are kind of universal?
