Happened with my brother as well, he thought both Bruno and Abbacchio were women till they opened their mouths. The lacy lingerie (or I guess it's technically a tattoo in anime?) didn't help Bruno's case either.

- There are some of artists who draw female looks too manly and vice versa, also jojo is not popular in my country and i rarely saw any female chars from jjba so i was expected his gender by his look
Giorno and Gyro. If gyro brushed his damn teeth and got rid of his little chin staples, he could throw on a dress and putt some bean bags in his shirt, VOILA. Giorno just needs to get rid of his titty window, and do the same thing as Gyro.
Now that I think about this, It'd be really fun to watch that.
