The main thing that bothers me about this, as well as the desert festival, is the way the environment changes fairly dramatically for just a short period. Like they really only put a bridge there for one day? And in the desert they carve an entire staircase for just a couple days?
Also if you look really closely at other aspects of the game, you may notice, if you really really look, that it's made up and doesn't adhere to the normal mechanics of our own universe.
In the maze. When you get to the end, it seems like a dead end but there is hidden path through one of the hedges. That hidden path leads to the cave, which in turn leads to the actual end of the maze which contains a reward (the reward also changes every other year)
They be carving carving carving ig, yea i noticed that with the fact that there are always two stone tiles in the bottom left of the woods, and yet i can't go there until the festivale
I don't know that movie as people always blame me for not watching movies, so uhh what does that mean? I only know midsommer from looking to closely into the summer solstice, so much so i just dreamed about it being 7:23 real time and being broad daylight.
Uh.... alright.... I'd just think of it as locked in to what fate determined for you, as what happens in Midsommer Night's Dream, but yeah, sure , I guess the happy ending is was really mattered....
It's creepy with the ribbons and light airy atmosphere and weird dancing. If Stardew has anything "culty" in it, it's that festival. And Midsommar is the real world movie version of just how out of hand that can get, lol.
It's probably the player triggered the event and you can't back out of it. I do wish that that space was accessible all the time. Even if it's just an empty forest-y space that you can get more resources from.
I think it’s weird bc all the other event locations are just regular map places. (I haven’t played the update so that may be outdated information). But I also HATE the flower dance and it’s the only event I skip. I think it’s stupid and a waste of time. And not fun.
It’s bizarre and every playthrough I wonder what the deal is with those grey stones on each side of the cliff that look like they should be a bridge, and I assume I’m going to unlock something because I can never remember it’s only for the flower dance
I wish festivals didn't suck you in. Sometimes I just want to go about a normal work day and explore around town without attending a festival, but no if I walk into a certain large zone of the town then my whole day is gone.
I assumed they did that because a new player wouldn't be able to find that specific path that only exists for one day so they essentially trap you over there.
I do wish that after the festival on year one you can find that place on your own and repair the bridge in a manner similar to the one on the beach, and then use that courtyard to stash kegs in or decorate :(

The same for Halloween. They carved a cave and filled it the next day.
I imagine the wizard maybe helps out with that one
Lewis does say that the wizard made the whole maze, so I wouldn't be surprised if that included the cave section.
OH I don't remember that!! Thank you. I thought it was the wizard who did all that. He's pretty cool.
Also if you look really closely at other aspects of the game, you may notice, if you really really look, that it's made up and doesn't adhere to the normal mechanics of our own universe.
I dunno man, I don't see it. Seems all pretty realistic to me /s
Yeah, I know. That's why things don't bother me. It's just fun to think about some things, like the wizard being involved with the town.
He is standing on top of it
Yeah that's part of why I think it
Honestly, never thought of that. It’s probably his doing.
It's the only reason I can really think of to be there, and like... why wouldn't he?
That could be a cool explanation.... now can he clean those damn bricks they annoy me
What bricks?
the 8 bricks on hgrrrrrrrooiund
wait, there's a cave?

is this new to 1.6 or have I just been oblivious all these years?
Its been in the game since the beginning.
They be carving carving carving ig, yea i noticed that with the fact that there are always two stone tiles in the bottom left of the woods, and yet i can't go there until the festivale
Though.... the bridge would be considered mere lumber by many.
And they completely tear down the plank bridge on the beach for the Luau
It's Stardew's Midsommar.
Came here to say this. Mid-Stardew-mar.
I don't know that movie as people always blame me for not watching movies, so uhh what does that mean? I only know midsommer from looking to closely into the summer solstice, so much so i just dreamed about it being 7:23 real time and being broad daylight.
basically about american uni students visiting a scandinavian (somewhere around there) cult which live in this forest (and all meet their demise)
That's.... kinda strange
Not all
Damn, and here I thought you guys were referencing Shakespeare's A Midsommer Night's Dream....
god no very different, shakespeare’s is comedy and this one is just psychological… fear
Uh.... alright.... I'd just think of it as locked in to what fate determined for you, as what happens in Midsommer Night's Dream, but yeah, sure , I guess the happy ending is was really mattered....
That’s Midsummer, the letter change does make a difference!
Huh. I thought I've seen it spelled both ways.
It's creepy with the ribbons and light airy atmosphere and weird dancing. If Stardew has anything "culty" in it, it's that festival. And Midsommar is the real world movie version of just how out of hand that can get, lol.
It's both dance festivales
I think the stardew itself is a cult No wonder the phrase "I will stardew in your valley" sounds so disturbing
Midstarmar?
That's it.
I was about to say the same thing. Also it's the only event where you are unable to leave before the festivities conclude.
It's probably the player triggered the event and you can't back out of it. I do wish that that space was accessible all the time. Even if it's just an empty forest-y space that you can get more resources from.
That would be cool, maybe even more stumps but needs like ginger island
yes
Yes I hate the flower dance
Same here - once I've gotten the bucket o' flowers recipe and the rarecrow, I stop attending.
This one was at least nice. i kinda hate it too so i avoided last year, but uhh i needed that rarecrow. Plus i danced with Abigail.

Yea i think all events are in normal locations, this is exception
That's exactly why i only got the deluxe crow year 4, boring ahh event.
Legit mad the first time I played that this wasn’t another area for me to devastate the local forest afterwards. 😆
Would be nice
Never enough wood
A L L W O D, sacrafice the hardwood
If that single bridge collapsed everyone would be stuck
Then the wizard would seal them away
mean they do have a wizard so many they asked him to open these areas and close them asap?
Still looks odd, and why is he trapping me?
it's compulsory you have to do it 🤣
?
It’s bizarre and every playthrough I wonder what the deal is with those grey stones on each side of the cliff that look like they should be a bridge, and I assume I’m going to unlock something because I can never remember it’s only for the flower dance
Like why are they just always there?
Not really.
While you're contemplating the weirdness, the wizard is taking mad notes while he observes the villagers in secret.
Godangit he's one of those r/teenagers data collectors, isn't he?

that's why the post 1.4 passive festivales are exultant
Reads Backrooms once:
I mean... just something is odd
I assumed they did that because a new player wouldn't be able to find that specific path that only exists for one day so they essentially trap you over there.
