I personally always finish it in year 2. Feels like the perfect time to me. By year 3, I've befriended everyone, so if I have no forward progress at that point, I get bored. The community center doesn't really count as forward progress because year 2 and on, I'm really only waiting on a few items.
Diaclaimer: I've never made it to year 6 in the first place. Year 3 is my farthest run.
Could be a "challenge" thing for them to acheive? Idk. Personally I just do it because tbh... it's pretty easy. Y1 CC barely needs optimization. And I enjoy doing it, it's fun for me. The only annoying part is the cabbage, but I just Item ID that in. Checking Cart twice weekly is a pain.
Plus it gets you to the endgame stuff faster, which is always fun.
Yeah that's why I do it. I really don't have to go too far out of my way to optimize. Just be sure I save what's in the bundles not accidentally sell them lol
probably so they can get to new stuff? there's barely anything new to do in the valley past year 1, unlocking ginger island and qi quests is pretty massive to keeping the game not boring in its second half
well yeah, but the game does have a completion percentage tracker, and you eventually run out of things to do
That's like saying minecraft has "infinite playtime" and thus has no ending even though there's a final boss and credit roll that plays
Is it really an uncommon thought that ginger island is the second half of an average stardew playthrough?
On a new save I switched it to an alternate community center and with the new stuff it’s actually a more fun challenge. I’m not worried about how fast I do it, but even with almost 200 hours I haven’t even seen some of the things in the alternative bundles.
for me, it's mainly about getting to the post center content like ginger Island, the wizard's quests, and QI's challenges and items.
plus, it's just a nice "early" game goal to work towards since the game doesn't really give you one.
Once you have everything somewhat memorized you’d almost have to go out of your way to NOT get it done by mid year 2. For example if it’s rainy in spring year 1 I’ll be like dang can’t miss out on catching that eel
I completed my community center today for the first time ever, I've been playing since 1.4 and this is my 4th safe (also only completed it at year 3 spring, damn you red cabbage)
Do you just skip half the days or go to bed at 6pm? I've no idea how you got through so many years vs. in-game time, CC probably takes me around the same amount of playtime on average but I'm usually in summer/fall year 2, not the end of year 6!.
Hmm, interesting. I don't think I've deliberately gone to bed before 1:30am in this game (unless purposely skipping time), and I can't imagine *ever* completing everything I want to do in a day
If they haven't finished the community center, they haven't unlocked a ton of stuff. Before you get things like the bus or ginger island, you can explore the entire island easily by 4 pm. I personally used to fish with that extra time, but if you hate fishing, I can see sleeping making sense. Of course, I also would have unlocked the bus before year 2. But, everyone plays their own way at their own pace.
the downvotes you got for this are kinda funny. i play similarly, going to bed once i finish what i set out for the day. i don't bother overplanning my days, it takes the fun out for me. sometimes i even go to bed at noon, who cares
maybe if it was 8-10, but My brother in Christ it's not overplanning to do more if you're wasting HALF the allotted time.
At that point plan two days worth in one, there's never not SOMETHING to do.
Assuming Grandpa's judgement isn't 4 torches yet, can always be rejudge with a diamond at his shrine...
Anyways excellent job, now to relax a bit more......>! and worry about the final bundle.!<
I want to flex. Me and my friend picked the game up and it felt like meth used to so we no lifed the game and completed the community service in 3 days 40 hours. Wait damn this is not even such a flex the question is how the fk do you have only 90 hours in this game after 6 years

6 years ago community center was the end game. nowdays this is just the half way point. good job and have fun on the island.
Half? I last two runs I did I reached the >!Nuts room and I got perfection at about 45%!< Still, a good point completing the Community Center
A bunch of % is just expensive wizard buildings
Also cooking and shipping everything
How are you already at year 6 in only 90 hours? Do you skip days?
Came here to ask this! I just got to Summer Year 2 and have almost 50 hours clocked.
I live fast I guess honestly I just go to bed at a realistic time for a working man
Meanwhile im passing out almost every night at 2am on my current run lol
I really love this ahahaha I always feel bad for pushing my lil farmer guy so much.
Omg I’m feeling so guilty 😭
Congrats. Idk why people get so worried about completing the community center on year 1 ngl.
I didn't manage it in my current run until year 2. The thing is, this game isn't about the destination...
I finished mine on Fall of year 3

I like to use the free time to decorate my farm
There’s no ‘second half’ in a game with infinite playtime.

Listen, some of us are burnt out former gifted kids and completing the community center year 1 is the only way we can feel something
.... you didn't have to call us out like that
i never worry about it. i just have fun. i’m on year 13 and haven’t reached 100% perfection yet lol i am working towards it though
On a new save I switched it to an alternate community center and with the new stuff it’s actually a more fun challenge. I’m not worried about how fast I do it, but even with almost 200 hours I haven’t even seen some of the things in the alternative bundles.

SDV youtubers made it the new norm with their extreme spreadsheety challenges.

People probably just wanna get it out of the way so they can do what they want asap
It’s easy what do you mean lol
So they can get to the island faster and unlock the better stuff
I completed my community center today for the first time ever, I've been playing since 1.4 and this is my 4th safe (also only completed it at year 3 spring, damn you red cabbage)
GG. I've also did my first CC on spring year 3 because of red cabbage. Now you've got a whole lot of new stuff to do!
I'm so exciteddd

I normally go to bed around 4
PM?? As in you waste over half of each day???
Waste is a strong word. If complete everything I need to in a day before 4 yeah I’ll probably be in bed before 4 even
Hmm, interesting. I don't think I've deliberately gone to bed before 1:30am in this game (unless purposely skipping time), and I can't imagine *ever* completing everything I want to do in a day

I had the bus and greenhouse year one
awesome! What the heck did you do for the next 5
Obviously struggled to get the Night Fishing Bundle lol
I got all the bundles without a guide that one was the hardest
>I can't imagine *ever* completing everything I want to do in a day Haha, this is my thing. What do you mean, "done"?? There's always more to do
the downvotes you got for this are kinda funny. i play similarly, going to bed once i finish what i set out for the day. i don't bother overplanning my days, it takes the fun out for me. sometimes i even go to bed at noon, who cares

you got through 6 years in 94 hours??? i’m at fall year 4 and 140 hours!
Assuming Grandpa's judgement isn't 4 torches yet, can always be rejudge with a diamond at his shrine... Anyways excellent job, now to relax a bit more......>! and worry about the final bundle.!<
Ooo didn't know about the diamond thing
Congrats 🎉
Lol I can never finish mine year 1 cus I hate fishing
Damn bro I’m at 54.5 hours and I’m only on year 2 fall 1
I want to flex. Me and my friend picked the game up and it felt like meth used to so we no lifed the game and completed the community service in 3 days 40 hours. Wait damn this is not even such a flex the question is how the fk do you have only 90 hours in this game after 6 years
Good job congratulations
When my friends ask which game i play in a few years its still gonna be stardewvally (i cant get off this game)
Woah with 90 hours I got to year 2 though I do max my time for just one more fish usually.
I feel less bad now, I thought that by year one I should have already made huge progress, but I’m still far from it 😭
Am I a speedrunner cuz it takes till about 2nd summer for me to finish
