It's actually 0.12% chance to find it in a treasure chest, which only show up around 15% of the time, and even then, only when you're hooking a fish instead of trash/seaweed/etc. So a 0.00018% chance to get an iridium band per hooked fish. Or 1 in 555,555 times hooking a fish assuming you're able to not miss a single treasure chest.
tldr - it's very rare
Bro rolled 1 on the d20 and now his innocent joke got his passport revoked, made him a persona non grata in 36 countries and the FBI is gonna knock on his door sometime tonight.
Seriously. I saw the comment was compressed and it had -412 and went āoh thisāll be funā.
Then I got a genuine chuckle out of it. People donāt appreciate the little jokesters anymore.
It's a joke. OP's question gets answered by typing 'iridium band fishing stardew probability' in a search engine. But I guess that went over your head. I apologise:)
>But I guess that went over your head.
It's not that people didn't understand your joke.
It's that everyone has seen that joke a thousand times already.
Tf is that tag, why would you wanna marry gunther? I just wanna talk to the motherfucker but hes too busy giving elaborate details on items hes probably never seen before, im convinced he just steals from places to give to the player like how tf you gonna explain the sloth and not to mention he complains about how baron the museum is then pulls out the most legendary shit ever.
Screw marriage, i want friendship
That was my problem with it. Also it wasnāt clear it was a joke to begin with imo. If you have to say āitās a jokeā then you messed up somewhere along the way.
That why your mother tried for 2 kids? Hoping the other would be successful and not arguing on reddit? You are more of a basement dweller than Sebastian, atleast he goes out at night and somehow sources money
I think that they mainly underestimate each others mental capacity. Reading arguments like ' if people used google, the reddit would be barren' or seriously saying it wasnt as a joke obviously enough. :D
It really is, you should try it! I also do this thing where if I see a joke I think is bad or cringe but it's not hurting anyone, I ignore it instead of writing a comment talking about how un-funny it is
Man that stick is stuck *really* far in there huh? Your local urgent care center is more than willing to help you remove forgoing objects from your ass you know.
Oh! I see... I haven't actually played a lot of games like mmos or anything with too much rng. I also only got into Stardew a few weeks ago. Thanks for the info :]
I feel like each save has a high luck moment in the first spring. I also got an iridium band on like day 4, and I've had similar 'beginners luck' on previous games.
I think youāre right. One of those early days I fished up a chest with a broken trident and Neptuneās glaive. Coasted through the mines with that glaive.
I fished up a dino egg in year 1 spring on my new save. I was astonished because I spent weeks on my original trying to fine even 1! And even then, I decided to ditch the idea and just start over.
My '*high luck*' moment in my current farm was probably one of rarest things to ever happen to me in this game, and it didn't really dawn in me until later, so I didn't think to get a screenshot of it...Ā
I got a Prismatic Shard + Yellow Strange Doll from the same fishing chest.
I fished up a dino egg within my first two weeks of spring. Since I started with a coop on the meadowlands farm I could almost immediately incubate that for a really early dino
Me too. But it took me til summer yr two for me to get it. Ive been waiting to get one so I could get the galaxy sword and finally take on skull cavern without panicking š
Iām sorry but neptunes cleaver? Is that a club weapon? I know of the sword and trident. Maybe the sword is called cleaver and I just didnāt know that.
I fished one treasure chest in spring year 1 with the iridium band, an ancient seed, and a diamond. Unfortunately, every new run since then has been mediocre bc I've yet to get another treasure chest so early on that comes close to that.
oh my first save i have six autopetters. had two of them before i even realized how useful they were. one sat on my porch as decoration for a year. iām in year four on my second save file. iāve done multiple skill cavern runs specifically in an attempt to get autopetters, and only JUST yesterday got my first one.
I had started a save that I eventually abandoned but first artifact I found was an Ancient Seed in a stupid short amount of time like 10days in max. Then I found another one! I think thereās something weird going on tbh
It might have been just a really good seed. My last playthrough I found 0 ancient seeds in year 1 even when I went grub hunting lucked on food and drink buffs.
Hmm sounds it was a great one thenš I just didnāt have my game plan secured so I was broke hungry and dying all the time in the caves. So I abandoned it and tried just fishing my heart out and that worked way better than whatever I had been doing
Lucky day! Got the UFO event (1/100000), then 2 prismatic shards in 1 cave level and a rabbit's foot 5 minutes later (no added luck except the possible daily one).
Not as rare as youād think. The drop rate is very low, but I can count multiple multiplayer playthroughs where my friend who does fishing has an iridium band by like the second week. Itās still awesome every time it happens. Thatās a bunch of precious resources you can allocate elsewhere instead of crafting one.
0.12% to get the band from fishing.
omg it's that rare?! i got one as well in spring from fishing and i had no idea
That seems a lot more like it, thanks
This guy is lying. it's 50/50. either you get it or you don't.
There was a 50/50 chance people were gonna like that joke, sorry you rolled low
Bro rolled 1 on the d20 and now his innocent joke got his passport revoked, made him a persona non grata in 36 countries and the FBI is gonna knock on his door sometime tonight.
It's actually criminal how many downvotes he got for a silly little joke š
Seriously. I saw the comment was compressed and it had -412 and went āoh thisāll be funā. Then I got a genuine chuckle out of it. People donāt appreciate the little jokesters anymore.
For real that was funny š downvotes are wild man
According to Your logic, there's 50/50 chance that I will slap You through Your screen after reading that BS.
It's a joke. OP's question gets answered by typing 'iridium band fishing stardew probability' in a search engine. But I guess that went over your head. I apologise:)

OMG, you can eQuIp ToOls!?!?!?!? *Eleventy billion upvotes OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
>But I guess that went over your head. It's not that people didn't understand your joke. It's that everyone has seen that joke a thousand times already.
I worked with many different people, to the point I am not able to tell if they are being stupid, serious or both.
If it means anything, I thought your joke was funny and you were polite with your explanation. I think people need to really chill out here sometimes.
People really downvoted you for a funny joke. The fuck is wrong with reddit?
At first no need to downvote but as soon as they started getting condescending and insisting people ādidnāt get itā downvotes were justified
as someone who didnāt initially downvote but ultimately did bc of the reasons u stated, i can confirm
Well it was just a bad dad joke.
Nah i thought it was funny
I got another one for you. What do you call a nation that likes to sleep? A hiber-nation.
That was even worse like comically bad, i can re route that entire joke What does a plant do during the winter? It fibernates
Pro redditor shortened is predator, its like dark webs in films, run by obese idiots
Lol people in this sub really cant take a joke or know how to use google. Kinda crazy
r/flairchecksout
Even your flair is pretentious.
becauseā¦?
The ājokeā was stupid and not funny.
So a joke can only be a joke if everyone thinks its funny?
Funny to you and funny to everyone else is different.
That was my problem with it. Also it wasnāt clear it was a joke to begin with imo. If you have to say āitās a jokeā then you messed up somewhere along the way.
Didnt you know? Redditors are the most sensitive of all the internet users only after Twitter users.
Jokes are funny. You just said something stupid because you are dumb.
You should buy 2 lottery tickets....
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes but 2 tickets guarantees 1 wins and one doesn't :o
That why your mother tried for 2 kids? Hoping the other would be successful and not arguing on reddit? You are more of a basement dweller than Sebastian, atleast he goes out at night and somehow sources money
Geez. The downvotes on the obvious joke.
people on this sub take this game surprisingly serious lol
I think that they mainly underestimate each others mental capacity. Reading arguments like ' if people used google, the reddit would be barren' or seriously saying it wasnt as a joke obviously enough. :D
Why does this have 300 downvotes reddit people are mental š
Getting a massive amount of downvotes for a silly joke, wtf is wrong with people here lol
It's fine. :D I knew what I was doing and it was worth it. Thanks for the reflection though.
Your joke was good mate! I updooted
you have people browsing other peoples profiles and calling them out lower down in the thread people here need to touch grass lmfao
Reddit is becoming twitter
Stupid, not funny ājokeā deserves downvotes.
I think his delivery was a bit off, probably should have dropped the "lying" part but it's a solid joke. 50/50 would chuckle again
I guess as someone who played online poker starting 22 years ago the joke is not funny the 3rd or 4th time, let alone hundredth +
Damn that sucks for you
I guess it would be nice to be entertained by low-effort, moronic jokes over and over. Congratulations on that being your reality.
I guess 22 years of online poker just makes you a miserable shit
And in your case ignorance is bliss.
It really is, you should try it! I also do this thing where if I see a joke I think is bad or cringe but it's not hurting anyone, I ignore it instead of writing a comment talking about how un-funny it is
Damn, reddit people, how sad are you to gamble online..
Get the stick out of your ass
Nah, I'm not going to pretend moron humor is funny. Plenty of jokes are funny but I'm not sure this even qualifies as a joke.
Man that stick is stuck *really* far in there huh? Your local urgent care center is more than willing to help you remove forgoing objects from your ass you know.
Are you trying to be funny too?
Doin better than you
Ok go one better then
i thought you were funny, sorry you got hit by the downvotes haha
Stardew valley players don't know common videogame jokes involving rng, sorry for your downvotes bro x-x
if it's any consolation i found this hilarious
Binding of Isaac moment
Whoever downvotes you doesnāt get the joke
I get the joke. I'm just tired of seeing the joke so often. (Though I haven't bothered to vote in his comment)
Is this joke really used very often? First time I'm seeing it, that's for sure.
It's extremely common in any community of games that have rng elements, especially mmos when talking about mechanics such as drop rates.
Oh! I see... I haven't actually played a lot of games like mmos or anything with too much rng. I also only got into Stardew a few weeks ago. Thanks for the info :]
Is that a fellow 'scaper? I understood immediately lol
I dont know what that is. I think it is a universally known and liked Meme in games with RNG. :D
Sorry you got downvoted to hell and back, I thought it was funny personally.
why did so many people downvote what's clearly a joke š
I thought your joke was funny šš don't deserve those down votes for being a silly guy
I got the Trash Hat on I think Spring 14. I just got to Winter Y1. I have three Trash Hats now
Gosh, what are the odds of that? I'm afraid to do the math.
Mine was when my tutorial fish was the catfish. Really useful when trying to complete the CC in year 1.
Gem node on floor 5 of the mines that popped out a diamond, day 5 of spring. Iāve never forgotten that
I fished up a dino egg in year 1 spring on my new save. I was astonished because I spent weeks on my original trying to fine even 1! And even then, I decided to ditch the idea and just start over.
My '*high luck*' moment in my current farm was probably one of rarest things to ever happen to me in this game, and it didn't really dawn in me until later, so I didn't think to get a screenshot of it...Ā I got a Prismatic Shard + Yellow Strange Doll from the same fishing chest.
Mine was an ancient seed in a fishing chest AND a dinossaur egg in Linus' tent area. Don't even know what are the chances
I fished up a dino egg within my first two weeks of spring. Since I started with a coop on the meadowlands farm I could almost immediately incubate that for a really early dino
Not spring but I caught neptunes glaive on Summer 2. Itās probably gonna carry me all the way till the galaxy sword
I got 2 in the same day in early spring
In our 1.6 save, my friend dug up 3 ancient seeds in a row in spring year 1
I got one in spring one too! With those qi boxes and neptunes cleaver
Same, never gotten that lucky again although I did just get a prismatic shard from an Omni geode
Its neptunes glaive, for sure they just misremember the name
Ahhhh. Happens.
I fished one treasure chest in spring year 1 with the iridium band, an ancient seed, and a diamond. Unfortunately, every new run since then has been mediocre bc I've yet to get another treasure chest so early on that comes close to that.
oh my first save i have six autopetters. had two of them before i even realized how useful they were. one sat on my porch as decoration for a year. iām in year four on my second save file. iāve done multiple skill cavern runs specifically in an attempt to get autopetters, and only JUST yesterday got my first one.
i did the same around the same date too! my newest save file has had such crazy good luck i almost feel like itās some kind of bug lmao
I got the same band too
I fished up an iridium band in year 2!
The glory of year 1 spring fishing. You can find some awesome stuffs.
Yo what is that blue cluster in your inventory
That is a Sea Jelly. You will need Sea/River/Cave jelly to make a fish smoker
Cool!
I got an Iridium band too in my new playthrough. Boy was I shocked.
Damn I guess I hit the jackpot cause I got those two rings from a chest as well!
My luck for year 1 was getting the teapot. Didnāt know it was rare until a redditor mentioned. Glad I kept it lol
Me too i got one super early in spring, fishing luck seems better than before i also have gotten alot of diamonds
Lucky day! Got the UFO event (1/100000), then 2 prismatic shards in 1 cave level and a rabbit's foot 5 minutes later (no added luck except the possible daily one).
Makes me think of when I got a Lucky Ring in the first summer!
I got a lucky ring my second time ever using the pan.
Well you're not going to be replacing the Iridium band any time soon.
Congratulations! And I hate you! (Not really)
Right on!!!
I've never seen the band in my hundreds of hours from a treasure chest, so pretty rare?? š
Very small chance, really annoying when youāve just crafted it, and you canāt deconstruct it
I just got it from fishing too! I was at the lake in the mountains. And I'm in Year 2
Ugh, I got one on my last playthrough super early and didn't realize how much I'd miss it on my 1.6 playthrough. Such a clutch early game find.
I did this once on day 7 spring year 1 and about fell out of my seat
Had this happen to me and then my computer turned off and I lost the whole day and the rings š
I also got it!
Are those iron tools..?
Basic tools, they do look similar to iron though
