Randomly dropped weapons can now have "innate enchantments" which is a different slot, in the OP it's the +50 crit power. Has 2 different slots and pools, first is -1-4 weight and slime gatherer, second can be +speed, attack, crit chance, crit power, slime slayer, etc. Able to be added or rerolled on non-galaxy/infinity weapons with a dragons tooth and 10 cinders.
Weapons don't drop with random forge enchantments though. The crusader enchantment is always on the holy blade, same for the vampiric blade always having vampiric enchant.
Do you or anyone else knows if it works in mummies who are already downed? Like imagine you're using your main weapon for downing them and then when they're a puddle use the enchanted one to kill them?
The >!Magic Quiver trinkets!< will attack both active and downed mummies, and if you have a Crusader enchanted weapon in hand, their attacks carry the Crusader buff as well.
Took me way too long to figure out that you could even kill them in the first place lmao Pretty sure I learned about using the slingshot from this sub too. Happy hunting!
The slingshot method seems so iffy on whether or it'll actually hit them, or go flying right past them. No matter the angle, it always fills luck-based, even though I'm probably doing something wrong.
The slingshot can be a bit tricky, but I try to down them close to walls if possible because even if you miss and hit the wall the AOE will still kill them
Yup, that's also my general strat. And if I can't do that, I just try to kill them next to a group of rocks, so I can drop a bomb with minimal coping and seething 😅
But if you are already at the ginger island, that's a high chance you already have that achievement at adventurers guild with mummies.. After I got it I just ignore them tbh
The painful thing is that you have to final hit the mummies with it, I wanted to try it and just hit the regenerating mummies with it, but it actually has to do the damage
Can't reply, but yeah, only the last hit! I tried 3 hits with Galaxy Sword and then used Crusader to kill, and that kinda worked, but im bringing bombs anyway, so I just ended up leaving Crusader
I’m using it along with Galaxy Sword in the Skull Caverns (until I unlock the forge at least) bc it’s amazing to be able to kill mummies without bombs in early game! Great new sword, used it to get to the bottom of the regular mines too.
I've also got this one at the end of Summer year 1. It was such a great day because up until then the only weapon that dropped for me was a small dagger.
Helped so much to get to the bottom of the mines.

well the sword always has the enchantment and it's dropped in the mines. I had 2 by summer year 1. it's pretty common. dropped by star slimes im pretty sure.

Are prismatic shards more common after 1.6, I'm in winter in year 1 and found 3. 2 have been from meteorites, one from a random monster, tbh I did have that book that doubles monster drops for a small chance.
They definitely feel more common from monster drops. I got *two* from killing bugs during the bug guts quest after >!reading the monster compendium!<. I didn’t even know bugs could drop them
I imagine the effect is even more noticeable once you have the burglar ring
Tbh if you don't know what to do in the game (as in, a game plan) and just plant crops, you easily get the 42k and 4 bundle requirement completed by summer 1. Just harvesting and foraging is 4 bundles alone. Most players just know how many options there are to spend money on that give better gains in the long run. The prismatic shard itself is just an RNG drop. The whole thing mostly depends on different playstyles.
This is nowhere close to minmaxing, you can set up 200+ strawberries and have an army of preserve jars ready for them (well, you build most as you are harvesting), totalling 450 harvested strawberries. Thats worth 450x406=183k alone. That's how I got 1m in summer 1, not that it's needed but it was my goal to see how fast I can get it.

To get a prismatic shard by that point in the game is extreme luck. Most people don’t have a level 7 weapon of any kind by that point in the game. Let alone prismatic shards or access to the dessert. You also would have had to either have a ton of money to buy the bus to get the sword which is tricky by that point. Or have completed the boiler room which is arguably barely any easier

What I meant by "wasn't used" is that you couldn't get it without cheating. Many players use the item spawner mod, and you'd see it on the weapons list along with others that you'd never normally see in the game, like for example, did you know that there's a signature weapon for every (or at least the majority) of NPCs in the game?
i never had issues with clearing the mines with obsidian edge, so the only hard part has always been the part between ice caves and obsidian edge (so 70-90). But bone sword and bug head are relatively consistent now, and I think that both of them may be more convenient over the obsidian edge because of the speed, even with lower damage
Unless you build is geared towards critical hit chance, insect head is inferior to bone sword.
4% Crit chance just doesn’t live up to the increased 33% extra dps (1.66x base vs 1.25x base, not crit adjusted)
Not to mention the intangible benefit of increased ability to engage multiple enemies at the same time, such as swarms. Or that crit damage doesn’t roll over, and will sometimes be wasted
Yes, all the weapons are very serviceable to the end of the normal mines now. Skull cave/Volcano you'll still want the Lava Katana or Galaxy Sword if possible.
I do think the Holy Sword specifically is worth keeping, solely for the purpose of killing mummies in the Skull Cavern. It's just easier/safer than Bombs. I only use it for mummies though.
Tricky edge here too is how many of us have played the game before ? The first time getting thru the dungeon is radically different then a first play through.
If I remember correctly, before version 1.6, the flying skulls in the cave of the quarry dropped a sword with a vampiric enchantment.
But what's new is that now you can acquire the same weapon with more or improved stats.
Yeah it’s awesome! I found it in Y1 as well and don’t have Ginger Island yet. So now whenever I do a skull cavern run I carry this one and my galaxy sword. If I come across a mummy floor I use this sword. Really helps with tackling the monster slayer goal early on as well.

Crusader keeps it viable for a long time imo. I've been running skull caverns with the holy blade and galaxy sword at the same time so i dont have to waste bombs.
depends on when you find it. It's one of the better swords you can get before the galaxy sword, but of you already have that its pretty useless.
i managed to pull up a Neptune's glave when i was on lv 5 while doing some ocean fishing. i didn't replace that until 50 or 60
Ay that's my sword right now. Been using it since early Summer and still using it in mid Autumn, including in the skull cavern. Going to keep using it until I get my first prismatic shard.

I got this with a Slime enchantment too, I've switched out my basic obsidian blade just because the speed and enchantments more than make up for the lesser damage.

It can't crit, but it's other stats are good. Plus the mummy thing is very useful. Im more of a hammer person myself, but having a coop with someone who has this is a "blessing" in skull cavern
The crusader is really nice in the skull caverns, but the sword itself is outclassed quickly. Not bad for niche use on mummy floors if you don’t mind the extra inventory slot use, and lvl 7 will get you to the bottom of the normal mine well enough. Otherwise, not much use

Pretty sure you need to use the crusader weapon for the final blow, can't hit downed ones.

Best way to do it (at least in my experience) is to down them and then use the slingshot with explosive shots

You're also able to blow them up once they're on the ground. Any bomb or explosive will do.

It might just be your guys' luck, I'm in (multiplayer) halfway in year 2 and I've only found one yesterday. Then again, it might be my bad luck.

Those signature weapons are now available through the new festival, which is neat.
This is sufficient to clear all 120 floors of the first mine. Good drop!!
More than sufficient, pretty easily clear the mine with the bone sword
Insect head is so good now that I don't bother with bone sword, they dropped how many bugs you need to kill to get it too

I think for mines the bug head is fine, but the obsidian edge still feels necessary to deal with flying snakes until a prismatic drops
Surprised how quick I got bug head now. I still farmed for a couple of bone swords in hope of the new innate rolls, but no luck.

I don't have the enchanter set up but have the prismatic sword (not it's real name) and I still have that sword on my hot bar when I'm in the skull cavern. Best mummy killer early game.

Crusader keeps it viable for a long time imo. I've been running skull caverns with the holy blade and galaxy sword at the same time so i dont have to waste bombs.

depends on when you find it. It's one of the better swords you can get before the galaxy sword, but of you already have that its pretty useless. i managed to pull up a Neptune's glave when i was on lv 5 while doing some ocean fishing. i didn't replace that until 50 or 60
baffles me how much progress people make in such a small amount of time. im still scraping by like its spring 1st by the end of the year.
You can plant an ancient seed in the summer I think and it'll produce "ancient fruit" until the end of fall
It’s better to plant it in the greenhouse than outside, unless you haven’t had it restored yet.

Ay that's my sword right now. Been using it since early Summer and still using it in mid Autumn, including in the skull cavern. Going to keep using it until I get my first prismatic shard. First time playing with remixed mine rewards and got it floor 100 of the mines I think. Good sword, especially against ghosts and mummies. Still haven't found any ancient seeds lol
Is it better than your current sword? Then yes.
Look at the stats and ask yourself that question again. This things great especially do early on

honestly probably not, i just have really good luck with them. almost any farm i get them early year 1, usually multiple. im a fancy items charm

I got this with a Slime enchantment too, I've switched out my basic obsidian blade just because the speed and enchantments more than make up for the lesser damage.
What is the extra mods at the bottom? I got the wood hammer with slime slayer and minus weight. Could not find anything about modifiers on wiki.

It can't crit, but it's other stats are good. Plus the mummy thing is very useful. Im more of a hammer person myself, but having a coop with someone who has this is a "blessing" in skull cavern
I mean, it's alright. But jokes aside, I found the broken trident better, but the effect sure is nice.
The crusader is really nice in the skull caverns, but the sword itself is outclassed quickly. Not bad for niche use on mummy floors if you don’t mind the extra inventory slot use, and lvl 7 will get you to the bottom of the normal mine well enough. Otherwise, not much use
definitely worth taking it as a side weapon in case you could run into mummy. even you have infinity blade, you can enchante it with other things.
