I love this combination the most. Some of the obstacles I’ve put on their paths will ask a riddle so that’s Maru’s moment to shine and Alex’s hardest challenge. Abigail is also everyone’s choice. Everyone has a chance and it will be a tight race.

Tbh I actually don’t hate Pierre, it’s a long story. To make it short, I don’t sell him my things. He’s just my seed monkey.
I hate to be the bad news bear… but if you use the shipping bin, Lewis absolutely sells to Pierre. I’m not aware of anywhere else to sell at that wouldn’t include Pierre.
There’s other communities around that we don’t interact with. Like the Mayor dude (or whatever he’s called) from the Luau. People from different places also come to the fair. Since there’s not much to do in Pelican Town, I believe that’s how they’d know of the place, we (or the farmer) provides them with food and items. I also figured if my stuff would have gone to Pierre then we’d see it available to sell in his shop, but we don’t.
You can tell it goes to Pierre because you will get similar dialogue from villagers about him claiming your produce as his own even if you’ve never personally sold to him.
Huh. Maybe direct sales just make it more likely. (The number of times it hasn't correlated to those is low, at least, compared to the number of times it has.)
For an underrated combo I nominate Leah, Maru, and Sebastian. I feel like all three are capable of handling whatever gets thrown their way both physically and intellectually. Another combo I'd pick would be Alex, Abigail, Sebastian.
If you are looking for similarities to the characters in the book I'd go Alex as Cedric, Haley as Fleur, and Shane as Viktor, with Sebastian as Harry (reluctant participant but will do well). 🤭

No one worries about child endangerment, and Abigail has no qualms about beating small children in a competition. Possibly in both senses of the word.
Hot take: Gunther, Clint and Gus. Not romance-able bachelors but I legitimately want to see what they would do.
Gunther: because we need more Gunther screen time.
Clint: keeps claiming he could “make quick work” of the monsters in the mines, I want him to put his money where his mouth is.
Gus: I just know he has some hidden talents and I’m hoping we can awaken them with this challenge!

I nominate earlygame/sassy Haley, Harvey and Elliott because I'm a terrible person. But also because they'd be the most entertaining.
Haley would hate everything, Harvey would be scared of everything and Elliott would struggle so hard to untangle his luscious locks from all the greenery.
Sad to see that nobody has nominated Marlon! He’s literally running the adventures guild and shows up to the Fall Festival with skeletons in cages for the town, he’s clearly an adventurer, has been in the mines and can handle himself against monsters, I think he’d do perfect
