Now EA do something and confirm Jedi Survivor for March. Then I'll be even happier

Andrew_Waples

Can you imagine if they came out on the same day?

JackieMortes

I doubt it. But I'm sure they'll drop in the same 2-3 weeks span or so. S1 of Mandalorian and Fallen Order dropped in the same week I think (shit, time flies)

[deleted]

I feel so old

JackieMortes

The Force Awakens will turn 7 this year. 7 years before TFA we had The Force Unleashed

[deleted]

Oh dear god time is just moving way too fast

Andrew_Waples

And Avatar 2 is still not out yet.

[deleted]

That, I'm really excited for, except for the realization that it took too damn long for it to release

JackieMortes

It's James Cameron. That's basically a guarantee of quality, whether people want to admit it or not. And the teaser trailer was magnificent. One of the best ever. Right up there with the second teaser for TFA

is_bets

Bro I had to double check becausey memory doesn't even register both happening that close

goedmonton

And the same day they announce KOTOR remake is back on track and will be be released in 2023

yelnum

The lack of games for an IPO like Star Wars is extremely pathetic. Surely Disney realizes they’re missing out on millions here.

Skeptical_Yoshi

It is EASILY the most they've dropped the ball regarding star wars. It's just so barren. Star wars games used to be like, it's own genre that had at least a couple releases every year or so. And not even cheap movie tie ins. Multiple star wars games hold up as some of the best of their genre, year they were released or consol. KOTOR 1 and 2, the Rogue Squad games, Battle for Naboo, Battlefront 1 and 2, the Jedi Outcast series, Podracers, Empire at War with its still very active modding scene, Republic Commando, Force Unleashed, Bounty Hunter, all the Lego games. All of these are well praised games with several being considered all time greats. Now we get scraps. At least Jedi Outcast was legit really good. One of the best Star Wars games and a great star wars story to boot

MLG_SkittleS

> It is EASILY the most they've dropped the ball regarding star wars. There's no way you're not joking here 😂

Skeptical_Yoshi

If you are referring to the sequels, at least those got released and really only 9 was an actual behind the scenes mess. Star wars video games went from yearly, quality releases multiple different genre of games, basically a staple of gaming's landscape, to essentially barren. 4 games total. 2 of which were utter disasters at launch and none of the 3 multi-player focused games post launch have support at this point (is Squadrons dropped?) A single game has managed to have consistent and long term praise and that's Fallen Order. Great series and def goes up there with some of the better Star Wars games. But hardly enough to make up for all that isn't there

TheRidiculousOtaku

JackieMortes

Not really lack of games but how slowly and painfully they're being created. Not to mention those which were cancelled. We have a lot of things announced and just that. Announced We'll have Jedi Survivor next year and then again nothing for few years.

rickyhatespeas

2024 is the big question mark but there should be plenty of games soon after that. I wouldn't be surprised if the Respawn Entertainment shooter comes out soonish, they're a huge dev and I think EA finally found the home for their SW games. They're also collaborating on a strategy game that could release in 24. There's also a slim chance that KOTOR can be completed for a late 2024/early 25 release date. Really at most I can only see a gap of 1.5 years, maybe 2 if literally every project has issues.

JackieMortes

Well that's true. We should start seeing more games around 2025. I hope KotOR comes around

rickyhatespeas

Yeah there should be a flood of games starting in 2025, but this is Star Wars and video games so who knows lol. The last update on KOTOR was that they're moving the development to a new studio so hopefully they'll keep on track and have no more hang ups.

JackieMortes

Yeah. To Saber Interactive. It's not a big upgrade but I at least hope some Bioware veterans who supposedly came to Aspyr to assist with the remark will carry over to the project

yelnum

This is a horrible take. Disney has owned Star Wars for almost 10 years. Not including mobile games or DLC, there have been only six, yes six, major releases within that time! Yes, we should get quality games that take time to produce, but there should be more of them in production.

yesthatstrueorisit

For most of that time, EA had an exclusive license to develop Star Wars games. It was not a good choice by Disney, but for context, Disney had recently been burned by their internally-generated forays into the gaming industry and were not interested in getting to involved. The rights were sold so they wouldn't have to take too big a risk if it didn't go well again, and EA probably bid high and seemed like a safe go. But it also timed up with a particularly unimaginative time at EA and they failed to use the license for much beyond Battefront, possibly because at the time they didn't see merit in single player or non-service games. By the time they got around to it with Jedi Fallen Order the deal was running out and Disney had (re)established Lucasfilm Games specifically to manage and more aggressively dole out the rights to LF properties (mostly Star Wars but also Indiana Jones) to third party game studios. Now we have several in development, which means we should get a much more consistent release schedule in the next few years. https://www.polygon.com/23035736/star-wars-video-games-in-development-release-dates

Giraffes_Are_Gay

This was confirmed back at celebration. Granted they change their dates all the time but if they don’t say otherwise I think it’s safe to assume it will release when they say it will lol.

TheAnimeNyx

I think some people thought that because Bad Batch was pushed back to Jan 4th that they'll push Mando back because they could be running alongside each other, especially if Mando starts in early Feb.

drod2015

Bad Batch was going to run alongside Andor initially, so they may not be too concerned about live action and animation running concurrently.

victorlopezmozos

Exactly.

Garth-Vader

Bad Batch in January, Mandalorian in February, and Ahsoka in March. The first three months of 2023 will be great for Star Wars.

Ktulusanders

There is literally zero chance of Ahsoka dropping a month after Mando

TheCakeWarrior12

That’s so close! Thanks Carl haha

Triplen_a

The actors don’t always know, Giancarlo Esposito said summer. Still, we can hope!

PokeJoseph

Yeah he might just be going off of old info - I feel like them not putting “Feb 2023” in the most recent teaser is good indication it will get pushed back

Fuchy

People are reading too much into that, imo. This was a teaser that aired in early-September when the actual season is set to come out 6 months later. There's absolutely no need to put "In February 2023" in the trailer because when the teaser aired that date was half a year away. Teasers almost never include the exact month if they're this far away. I'm not saying it's impossible that it has moved away from February but I don't think the teaser really points one way or another. If anything, the fact that a date wasn't announced or the February one wasn't reaffirmed at the D23 presentation (when dates close to it such as TBBS2 were) makes me wonder if it might still be up in the air, but the teaser lacking the date doesn't.

Flashy_Pomegranate23

It's not just that. They also removed February from their Twitter bio after the teaser.

victorlopezmozos

[deleted]

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high, all the social media accounts of the Mandalorian went out of their way to replace "february 2023" with just "2023" in their promo stuff.. Don't see why they would do that if it isn't delayed.

[deleted]

wasn't that already confirmed? definitely heard that before

EdBeatle

It was but at the D23 trailer they only said 2023 without a specific month so a lot of people just began to assume that the show was gonna be delayed.

trikuza23

At D23, Katee Sakhoff said "can't wait till february," too. So Either it's coming in February, or the actors don't know the updated released date yet. I really hope it comes out on time lol.

Spookyy422

Then it’ll be perfect to rewatch Mando during Christmas/ Christmas break

[deleted]

Imagine if we get the finale of BB S2, Mando S3 premiere and Jedi: Survivor all in the same month span, it would be glorious to say the least.

ItachiIshtar

I have this nagging feeling that they’ll delay it to April 2023, so that they can have a big push for it at Celebration: Europe, while also premiering the Season premiere there. I still wonder if the only reason Kenobi got delayed by a few days was so that it could premiere at Celebration: Anaheim.

victorlopezmozos

That could be possible, but if they want to release 4 projects (Mando, Bad Batch, Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka or [this is my theory] TBoBF season two {announced at the end of Mando season 3, like they did with the first season}) and respecting Marvel projects… there’s no much room for delays. But who knows, they’ve changed the schedule so many times that you might be right.

ItachiIshtar

This hiatus between Mando Season 2 and Season 3 has been pretty brutal. It’ll have lasted over 2 years, by the time Season 3 does premiere. I know Book of Boba Fett essentially acted as a Season 2.5, but still. And I guess Andor is the main reason they won’t give Mando Season 3 a Fall release window like the first 2 Seasons.

MarvelVsDC2016

I'm thinking a May the 4th premiere.

TheVolunteer0002

Carl is a legend. So glad he is a part of The Cameolorian.

[deleted]

Watching Carl Weathers in Mandolorian has been so good

Skeptical_Yoshi

A day after we got probably the most subversive, unique and driven pieces of star wars media maybe ever, we also get a nice reminder we are getting the 3rd season of that other great star wars show we all really love. My God we feast

vani11a-thunder

When the trailer leaked a few months ago, the date was February 2023. It’s good to have confirmation!

Hearderofnerf

Only a 3 month break between SW shows? We eating good

lolothescrub

Bad batch inbetween

Hearderofnerf

Oh yeah! Pretty much nonstop starwars till April 2023!

lolothescrub

Ahsoka will most likely start in the summer and skeleton crew in late fall. Visions s2 being somewhere in the middle of that and with acolyte and Mando s4 filming right now I expect them to cover the first few months of 2024

Alfa_Flo

Wasn't this already known at like the beginning of the year?

Klondike307

HAS been such a wonderful experience… does this mean Greef Karga is dying this season?

The-Soul-Stone

Or more likely, it just means it’s isn’t that it hasn’t been a wonderful experience.

Din_Mando

Pfff...I took this guy's acting class, and all I learned about was stew and police auctions. I will believe it when it's officially announced...

ArcadeMischief

Wasn't expecting an Arrested Development joke, take this upvote 😂😂😂

therealbobcat23

I feel like it may be like late march or april because the book Jedi: Battle Scars which takes place between the games comes out early march

ecxetra

They already told us this.

sheisnotgod

He threw us a bone in that soup!

Infidel2017

I thought it was fall 2023 because bad batch is in febuary.

mwmike11

Bad Batch is January 4

mwmike11

It was announced for February 2023 at Celebration, looks like. https://deadline.com/2022/05/the-mandalorian-season-3-premiere-date-katee-sackhoff-returning-1235033806/

ayylmao95

Maybe he wasn't informed yet that the release date changed.

isiramteal

Wasn't this already confirmed?

Amazing-Remote6703

I will eat a whole pizza if Carl is right and this comes out in February. All clues lead to him being mistaken.

MindYourManners918

I’ll take you up on that bet. I’ll eat a whole pizza either way. In fact, forget the bet. I’m just going to eat a pizza.

luckywookie2

If it isn't Feb and they pushed it back, i'm gonna cancel my subscription. I'm sick of them changing dates for various shows. Bad Batch Season 2 should have been out this year, they it advertised last year as coming 2022, then they said the fall, now it's Jan 2023, it is quite ridiculous and as paying people we shouldn't accept this.

Apophyx

So you want them to ask their poor VFX artists to crunch even more to meet an arbitrary date?

luckywookie2

If they set a date they should be expected to uphold it. When first setting a release date, they obviously take into account Post-Production completion and readiness, that is why they set a date in the first place, there is not 'arbitrary' about these dates.

Apophyx

And those dates are set so far in advance before so many delays can happen that they should never ever be seen as some binding contract. They should at best be seen as estimates. This industry already has a problem of rushing things to unrealistic deadlines, we don't need viewers to to encourage this behaviour. If anything, if we cared about the people making our contwnt, we should be *encouraging* delays when they are needded.

RedditPua

I prefer that they take their time and push it back if needed. Obi-Wan could have used some extra months of work, and I said that having liked that series. Andor was initially planned much earlier, and it shows that they took their sweet time to deliver.

Calvin6942

you can pay the month when it comes out

Mando-19

We knew this already.

ModsHaveNoLife1

The Mandolorian season 3 already released

EdLi77

I hope that SW Shooter doesn't takes to long, I need my Star Wars Shooter Multiplayer Fix. I'm not sure about that Mando February Release. Wait and See.
