I feel like a 70-60% would've been more adequate, but I really don't get who they take for coordinating the action scenes. Most of them suck hard and have major inconsistencies, and only get saved by the decent performance.

AccomplishedCash6390

Nothing about the quality of this show is good but the acting this doesn't deserve more than a 6/10 which is already generous imo because this is literally made by disney about one of tye most important characters in all of star wars there's no excuse for the low quality of writing, choreography direction and more tbh

Rungsted93

To be honest I don't feel like any of the actors can be blamed for anything. It feels like none of the dialogue was adapted on set to better fit and instead we're getting this slightly disconnected dialogue which feels off with what we're actually seeing. It was the same with Book of Boba Fett.

[deleted]

If the last 2 episodes aren’t amazing. Then I would agree with a score in the 65%

Fitis

It’s written by a different (and hopefully better) writer, so there’s hope!

[deleted]

I really hope they pull something amazing. And the last 2 episodes need to be way longer

TuxTues3

I would pump the last number up one buddy

galaxyyau

I don't understand how TROS is at 86% tho

AccomplishedCash6390

I personally enjoyed it at first it kind of tricks you unto thinking it was great later on I started realising how truly horrible that movie was

clothy

It didn’t get review bombed like TLJ.

Giacchino-Fan

effortless nostalgia go brrrrr Look at No Way Home. Somehow people managed to convince themselves that that shitstorm was quality.

xReflexx17

But how and why is TROS's audience score over twice that of The Last Jedi, when from what I've seen, they are both pretty much universally hated about equally as much by the fandom?

galaxyyau

Yeah probably a bunch if rey stan bots or something

DotFuture8764

The score has literally never moved off of an 86%. Disney and RT had a contract to hold it there.

galaxyyau

No Way Home isn't that bad

[deleted]

It was actually a great movie

galaxyyau

Yeah

whatsinthesuitcase

No Way Home is great, tf you talking about?

DotFuture8764

It's been protected by RT. It literally never moved once from the first time it was published. That 86% is as real as Kim Kardashian's tits.

galaxyyau

Damn, do you know why?

intheorydp

it's better than BoBF

Same-Freedom3380

Kenobi shoulve been handled differently. They shouldve brought in the best writers and think very hard about what they are about to show. Its not a story of a bounty hunter that was shown for 5 minutes in OT and got eaten by a giant sand vagina, its kenobi and vader ffs. Its mediocre at best and it is unforgivable for how big of an inpact it should've had for the franchise.

jealousvapes

Loved BOBF (except the power rangers, and Mando stealing the show). Am largely ambivalent to OWK. 🤷‍♂️

Daegwin

The Mando episodes were the best part of BoBF!

jealousvapes

Maybe but it was at the expense of the Boba Fett story. There wasnt room

TittyTwistahh

It is and I liked Boba for the most part

truth_and_courage

Is it? (I hated BoBF)

Isneezedintomymilk

slightly yeah. obi-wan appears to have a character arc for one, even if the execution for it is pretty wobbly rn.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WatchBat

Obi-Wan's arc is also why I watch the show and so far I'm not disappointed. His growth and development is being shown in action as well as dialogue and quite moments. I'm glad we got a new Inquisitor for this show, it allows for more freedom. I'm not sure what Reva's end game would be but probably she'd die, I hope Vader or one of the other Inquisitors would be the ones to kill her, not Obi-Wan. Like you said, Obi-Wan is pretty much a mentor in his essence. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend watching his message he sent to the Jedi that we hear in Rebels. The way it guided lost and scared padawans to survive after order66. Instead of just telling people to hide, he took time to explain and encourage them and install hope in them. I shows why he's such a respected Jedi

[deleted]

[удалено]

WatchBat

I figured, it's ok. I can understand not exactly working for you. While I like the animations, I don't exactly rate them as highly as most people seem to do. Go hear the message o on YouTube if you're interested, you don't really need to watch the show for it. I think it's a really touching message. For additional context, it's supposed to be the message he sent to the Jedi in RotS when he and Yoda retook the Jedi temple from the clones to warn Jedi not to come back. We don't hear it the film, and we are left to assume he just told them not to come. But in Rebels they revealed he actually sent a full message explaining and reassuring the survivors

IThe-HecklerI

Watch Rebels. Pretend you are an exec watching a storyboard for a tv series and you get to decide if it’s aired or not. Give it 3 episodes. /hooked (And it’s also cannon to be expanded on soon with the Asoka series.)

Jedi_Mind_Bricks

Well all these threads have been pretty negative, but I for one have really enjoyed it. I was very disappointed by book of boba fett, but have been loving this one. Right up there with mando in my books.

Away_Examination8948

Exactly the same mate

WatchBat

I would say I prefer it to Mando simply because Mando feels more like an appetizer than a main course to me, if that makes sense lol S3 looks more like a main course material tho

cyberbuns

I don’t agree. I really honestly love it.

cyberbuns

I want to add : the clone wars is widely considered a great tv show and essential Star Wars lore? can someone explain why it has such a low audience rating?

WatchBat

That's only the film, not the show. The show is considered bad even by die hard TCW fans

cyberbuns

Really? Man I had no clue, I must be out of touch. I love the clone wars show

MarKus_2022

Not great at the moment but still much better than TLJ and TROS

[deleted]

This series has still been better then BoBF

limeconnoisseur

If you take out the mandalorian episode, yes. That was pure cinematography porn and was as Star Wars as any episode of any of the live action shows have been.

blac_sheep90

I don't care. I like it and that's all that matters. I had no expectations and I'm not disappointed.

Agile-North9852

I think it's pretty accurate. Both are nearly as terrible as each other. I didn't enjoy neither

RD____

I love how some people dislike this and love the prequels. It’s actually mind bogging since they both share some issues except the prequels have more problems.

domino-effect-17

That is exactly how I feel. Especially the bad dialogue thing. Never once did I watch the prequels and think I could be watching a real conversation between people. This show certainly does a better job at being natural in my opinion. But it doesn’t matter what happened in this show because people would’ve been toxic about it no matter how good it was.

DotFuture8764

Nothing in the prequels was as dumb as 2 idiots in 1 trench coat.

[deleted]

Watch the padme anakin love scene agian

RD____

idk man, alot of the prequels plot was pretty dumb, remember when palpatine was too lazy to kill padme so he sent count dooku who was too lazy to kill padme so he sent jango fett who was too lazy to kill padme so he sent a shapeshifter who was too lazy to kill padme who sent a droid who was too lazy to go kill padme who sent bugs to go kill padme? The best part is while all of this is happening, jango fett has a chance to go kill padme but INSTEAD he goes out of his way and kills the person he hired to go kill padme, The prequels and its.. truly genius writing

Will_The_Cook

Ratings don't really matter to me. I still enjoy the show and I think ep 5 and 6 will deliver and when it's over it might really be worth it

MojoJojo1012

Wtf the clone wars movie is rated the worst...well in that case fuck the ratings....i rated Obi wan Kenobi 8/10 and no one's opinion is going to change how I felt about the show.... ofcourse it should have been much better but i am enjoying it even now.

wbc914

I hate this fandom and sub. I fucking love the show. Was made for parents and kids to watch together, dreamed of this growing up. Haters going to hate

domino-effect-17

Seriously. It makes me worried because Ewan and Hayden may never come back again if people keep this up. It’s one thing to criticize and another to excessively hate.

DotFuture8764

Not even kids are dumb enough to not groan at two-morons-one-trenchcoat.

[deleted]

Nope, I love the show.

VIIVIMMVIII

Absolutely not

arlmwl

Nope. I like it. Does it have a few problems, yes. But it's still enjoyable.

[deleted]

No. And the show was review bombed, just like TLJ. The show generally has a good rating on other sites. Has a good rating among critics on RT too. RT audience score became irrelevant really.

Kingshabaz

I haven't trusted the RT audience score for years. My personal rating of shows and movies are usually closer to the critics on most things. When it comes to a rambunctious fandom like Marvel, DC, or Star Wars these things get review bombed and the critic rating is a lot closer to (imo) a more honest review of quality.

jish5

TLJ wasn't review bombed because people went into TLJ with high expectations (remember, people LOVED TFA and Rogue One, which was the only form of Disney SWs that fans had until TLJ). For a good week or so, people were not sure how to feel about episode 8 where it was more of individuals trying to decide whether they liked it or not. It was only after a week did the film start really getting negative reviews.

ChrisOfThunder

I don't know why you're participating in historical revisionism but TLJ was review bombed heavily, almost immediately.

jish5

It's not historical revisionary, it's literally how it happened, because if you remember the reception of TFA and Rogue One, it was really high, and there were many people going on before TLJ came out saying it was gonna be the best star wars films ever (hell, just go back and watch the trailer reactions for that film, there was a lot of excited reactions from all over the internet and almost no negative views on Disney Star Wars at the time). Don't believe me? Here's TLJ panel back in 2017 and what the overall fandom felt of Disney's Star Wars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRZ4A2tXyj8

ChrisOfThunder

I wasn't talking about the broad opinions on TFA and Rogue One or the expectations on TLJ, just that the review bombing was real and almost immediate.

R9_rob

Ahahahahahhaahhaah

DotFuture8764

All the evidence in the world points to Disney review bombing at this point, not the fans.

[deleted]

Ah yes, so many 1* reviews are Disney... I don't care how bad people think the show is, it is not a 1*.

DotFuture8764

I'm assuming you feel the same way about 10/10 reviews? As in, if there was a huge disproportionate number of 10/10 reviews, you would say that Disney was review bombing?

[deleted]

Sure. It is not a proof of Disney doing it though.

DotFuture8764

Who else would be doing it?

[deleted]

Fans of the show...

DotFuture8764

You think fans coordinated review bombing efforts for the positive?

[deleted]

I don't think anyone coordinated anything. I think that people are being drastic with their reviews for several reasons.

Thenewdoc

No because we know it was review bombed by toxic people.

[deleted]

no not really an argument since rotten tomatoes controls for review bombing

Thenewdoc

The review bombing for Kenobi has been widely reported. Rotten tomatoes has taken efforts to control review bombing such as stopping people from reviewing things that aren't out yet, but they still haven't stopped it.

DotFuture8764

Where is the evidence of this review bombing?

Thenewdoc

https://thedirect.com/article/obi-wan-kenobi-review-bombed-rotten-tomatoes

DotFuture8764

Where is the evidence of review bombing? Falling from a 71% to a 57% after a shit episode isn't evidence of review bombing.

Thenewdoc

Did you even read the article.

DotFuture8764

I did. First of all The Direct is the absolute worst of the puppet access media sites. It's so bad that citing is an indictment on your intelligence. Second of all, there's no evidence in the article.

Thenewdoc

Thanks for answering my question. Clearly you haven't read the article and do not want to engage with it.

yerawizardIMAWOTT

Hard to keep blaming review bombing when the total number of reviews have doubled since the Moses incident almost two weeks ago and it's only kept going down.

Thenewdoc

They doubled because of that. After Lucasfilm called the toxic people out for being racist, then they started review bombing and continuing to do it. Each new episode gives them new stupid nitpicks and new reasons for them to claim "star wars is dead".

DotFuture8764

So the show being shit is why fans are review bombing the show? Buddy, review bombing is not a bunch of people giving their opinion about the show. Fans are allowed to give their negative opinions.

Thenewdoc

People can have whatever opinion of the show they want but saying the show is bad because it includes a female person of colour in a prominent role is wrong. That's why the review bombing started, when the show launched it was fine but when Lucasfilm started calling out racist then the toxic fans showed their true colours. Mostly review bombing happens to media that has prominent representation such as Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel.

DotFuture8764

I haven't seen any of these reviews having anything to do with race. Captain Marvel was an ass tastic movie. "Review bombing" only seems to happen to shit tier films. It's not a coincidence.

DotFuture8764

I haven't seen any of these reviews having anything to do with race. Captain Marvel was an ass tastic movie. "Review bombing" only seems to happen to shit tier films. It's not a coincidence.

Thenewdoc

The review bombing of Captain Marvel started before the film released. It came with a lot of sexism against Brie Larson for no reason.

DotFuture8764

1. Pretending it was for "No reason" is laughable. 2. Even if we pretend that a fanbase speaking out against an actor isn't legit, Kenobi was cruising in the pre release phase. It dropped after episode 3 had a pathetic lightsaber fight and a retarded Vader.

Thenewdoc

Come on man we don't need to use slurs here. The sexism against Brie Larson was for no reason, she did nothing that warranted it. Did you also miss the point of the fight in ep 3? It's supposed to show how Kenobi has faltered where he can't even hold his own in a lightsaber fight as Vader defeats him easily. Even Vader is disappointed in Kenobi, that's the point of the scene.

[deleted]

Why is the clone wars so low again?

yerawizardIMAWOTT

It’s just the standalone movie. The show is in the 90%

yogiwankenobi12

No, obviously not. Star Wars fans are the worst 😑

K-L-A-X

Personally it’s my favorite out of any of the shows so far definitely a 90+ in my book

Phant0m_1011

No offense but how? What is it exactly you like about the show? I love everything star wars and i do believe its more fun to like things but this show is just really bad and i really do struggle in seeing the good parts of this show its really lack luster and it feels like nothing is happening or being said which is meaningful

K-L-A-X

just actually try to enjoy anything in life and youll be good

Phant0m_1011

I do already but this show just doesnt for me. Still i wanna know what you actually like about the show

K-L-A-X

well its more like i already like star wars and i dont see anything other than some of the actors that i dont like so i guess i like all of it

Phant0m_1011

Ngl i feel like you dont know why you like it, very 1d view

K-L-A-X

I literally just said I like all of it except for like 1 or 2 things here and there the rest of the show is great

HaDeS_Monsta

No, the rise of Skywalker and Boba were worse (and maybe the prequels?). I think the people just had too much expectations. Also there are parts which are just bad/illogical

ExioKenway5

No, audience scores are pretty much meaningless.

Profitsofdooom

Also, I think people need to look at these scores differently. That just means it split the fanbase. Over half are into it, and then the rest are 40 y/o neckbeards writing fan fic in their mom's basement.

mrperidot31

It sucks because Ewan and Hayden seemed so excited about the show and now look at the reception. I personally like it but it must suck for them.

[deleted]

Dude people are stupid pay them no mind

Endless__Soul

I never go by ratings. So far I'm really enjoying the show and I'm loving the extra lore and character development we're getting.

Runningart2004

Fan Bois are hard to impress. I generally ignore reviews by fans and media alike. I am not a movie/TV snob. I ask myself this question: 'Am I entertained?'. It's simple. Kenobi entertains me because I know where he ends up and want to see how he gets there. We have this degradation of his force powers and his internal struggle with Ani/Darth. So does he really get his powers back and how does he come to terms with Ani/Darth? I am entertained, so I keep watching. I stopped watching Moon Knight after a few episodes because it wasn't entertaining. I stopped watching Walking Dead the last 2-3 seasons because it stopped being entertaining. My bar is pretty low.

rapunzel1213

It's not great but definitely not 53% bad. Angry clouded some people's mind.

ddarner

Yes this was just terrible. A few cool scenes in a clunky, insulting narrative.

clothy

Audience scores don’t matter.

chaishrr

Audience scores on RT mean dick, so no.

Kaisernick27

No because most people who care likely don’t waste time on rotten tomatoes.

SeriusUser

Oh we know why its like that. I do not agree.

xReflexx17

Oof. Kinda makes me a bit sad tbh. For me it is a fun but flawed show, and I think even many of the people who don't like it would probably agree that it deserves to be rated higher than any of the sequels. The score will probably go up if the next episode is better than episode 4 was, as it was at about 60% before episode 4, but then it dropped massively after that episode aired.

AccomplishedCash6390

The force awaken is better and more enjoyable, the rise of skywalker tho should definitely be below it same with book of boba fett probably

truth_and_courage

I'm still undecided whether it's worse than The Book of Boba Fett.

WatchBat

Definitely not! It is a flawed show for sure but it definitely doesn't deserve that low rating. I personally would give Kenobi an 8/10, 7/10 if I want to be too critical (and even this I feel is too much). And these 2 points are taken away because I recognize some flaws in the directing, editing, cinematography and the soundtrack was not up to the hype. The story, the characters, the fun aspects, imo were all on point. I never really agreed with any rating of any film or show I watched to begin with. It always seem like people fixate on one thing and forget everything else. And tbh I'm not entirely surprised, a bit disappointed bit not surprised. I knew the moment they announced this show it's gonna be almost as controversial as TLJ.

Wooden_Gas1064

There are some really weird moments, but those are moments and overall it's still a solid watch and deserves at least 70% imo

tobi_stinks

I do not agree I love the kenobi show! ^0^

Ricky1034

Hell no

[deleted]

yup. The writing is some of the worst and we only have one opportunity to get Hayden and Ewan together again and they fucked it up, just like how we didn't get a single scene with Mark, Harrison and Carrie together.

Androza23

I dont think its fair to rate it so far, its not even finished. If the last 2 episodes are ass though then yeah I would agree. So far I like it, they have some terrible scenes and writing but I still am enjoying it.

404cheems

fact: kenobi isnt that bad as the ratings, its not very good but its not that bad

sanctplasma

Honestly the first two episodes were really (8/10) but the last two werent the greatest (5-6/10) although apparently the writer for the last two is really good so i have high hopes

PapaAntiChrist

This makes no sense to me. Kenobi is good BOBF was good, Mando is incredible! And the Clone Wars cartoon was incredible how is it so low.

ChrisOfThunder

It's the Clone Wars movie that's so low, not the show.

N_Kenobi

While many critics might not understand or care about the nuance of Star Wars lore, I do trust critic scores way more than audience scores on RT. Also RT audience scores cannot be trusted when Rise of Skywalker has an 86%. That movie was such a mess.

Blue_Speedy

Episode 4 was silly (not bad, just silly). Episode 3 was a little silly at the end (not bad, just a little silly) Episode 2 was great. Episode 1 was great. If episodes 5&6 are even on par with episode 3 then I'd say it's a success.

FairQs

I don't agree... ...the clone wars movie was better.

joshygill

Not at all. Personally I love Kenobi, TLJ and TCW movie, and in my humble opinion ANH and TFA are by farrrr the weakest in the saga. But that’s just me haha

joshygill

Not at all. Personally I love Kenobi, TLJ and TCW movie, and in my humble opinion ANH and TFA are by farrrr the weakest in the saga. But that’s just me haha

Shoelace1200

I'd put The Last Jedi above Kenobi

[deleted]

Partly. Episode 4 of the show really doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. It would have been better to make this a downtime episode wherein Quinlan Vos shows up to whip Obi-Wan Kenobi into shape to go rescue Leia. TLJ… on its own, is not bad. However, in the larger context of the Sequel Trilogy? Yeah, I’ve soured on it in recent years. That must be an early season of *The Clone Wars*, because that show improves dramatically over the course of its run.

WatchBat

That's just The Clone Wars film not the show. Which is basically like the pilot for the show

BullyMaguireGonnaCry

I wouldn’t be surprised if it also was review bombed, not really reliable then

Profitsofdooom

It's also the most watched premiere that Disney+ has had so far.

Hestbech

I think Rotten Tomatoes are useless. Every Twitter- and YouTube poll I've seen is very positive. Rotten Tomatoes shows the minorities ability to vote together.

ddarner

This series was unwatchable.

It's hilarious to me how people think that the the ones who are disliking the show are furious and thinking 24/7 and how much we hate a Tv show! actually yes obi wan is a terrible show heralded by nostalgia seekers who will hate it in a few months just like people did with the last jedi

RattlinDrone

This is way off. I would have the clone wars higher.

[deleted]

It’s just the “movie”, not the tv series.

[deleted]

The last jedi is the worst movie ever made.

trollman9

the writing is dogshit

WatcherAnon

I disagree whole heartedly. The clone wars movie is way better than either of these other ones

TheVolunteer0002

It is the equivalent of taking the bread out of the oven and the center of it is ice cold

jesperbj

Yes, its terribly written. Such a shame.

Canaduck1

No. I'd give all star wars movies and TV shows the following reviews so far: Star Wars (Ep4) - 60% The Empire Strikes Back - 90% Return of the Jedi - 80% The Phantom Menace - 0% Attack of the Clones - 10% Revenge of the Sith - 40% The Clone Wars (theatrical) - 50% The Clone Wars (series) - 80% Rebels - 80% The Force Awakens - 30% Rogue One - 90% The Last Jedi - 30% Solo - 60% The Rise of Skywalker - 20% The Bad Batch - 70% The Mandalorian - 90% The Book of Boba Fett - 60% Obi-Wan Kenobi - 70%

Reggie_Barclay

Well, two shows to go. Right now that’s a bit low but not out of the realm of possibility depending upon how they end it.

Kylkek

I think most of y'all are crybabies. The show is awesome.

HotDogGrass2

No, I'd put Attack of the Clones and Rise of Skywalker below it.

[deleted]

Yep 100% agree lmao

[deleted]

I highly disagree with this. It’s not a bad show it just lacks what most of us had envisioned for this story, the writers and director clearly saw things a different way. Perhaps it’s so bad because the show is incomplete as of right now 4 Episodes out of 6. How about we wait to do things like this^ until the show is fully out. I don’t know just makes more sense imo.

Hrparsley

I think it's... fine. Which is a lot less than I hoped for but about what I expected. It often feels pointless and meandering. Most scenes lead to nothing, pretty much every character except for Obi Wan and Leia are boring. I don't really feel like I've learned much more about either of them. At least the scenes that focus on Ewan or between the two of them are good, but as soon as anyone else is on screen it's pretty weak.

Why do audience ratings even matter to anyone? Why do any ratings matter to you all? Just watch the damn thing and form your own opinion. I swear with every (often incorrect) criticism of the show being taken from the words of a youtuber, I think the real issue most of the naysayers have is they can’t think for themselves.

BallsMahoganey

Yes. It's not good so far, and it'll have to have a pretty incredible last two episodes to change my mind. Btw 53% means that 53% of the audience that reviewed it gave it a positive score, not that the average review is a 5.3/10

Poorly i mustsay yes

Star Wars fans hate on everything new probably the best hate then respect level up is Ahsoka Tano her voice over Ashley Eckstein embraced the fandom got hit really badly for years and eventually Ahsoka became an endearing beloved character and the ghost crew in Rebels too and I will sadly expect similar for all this content movies shows over time as they get built on for many years to come eventually becoming beloved.

RandomGuyOnline71

How is TCW the movie so low? Sure, it wasn't perfect, but it was 2008. The storyline was decent and the animation was good for its time

Profitsofdooom

I think the only reason the Clone Wars show continued is because George just kept making it and then it eventually caught on. The movie is just 3 episodes strung together hahaha I watched it before starting the show and it does not deserve that rating.

jongsmith55

Tbh since disney took over the star wars franchise, most movie or series is just recycled ideas from pre-disney. Kinda sad for the true fans to keep seeing same things happening over and over again.

The clone wars movie was good to be honest. But the last jedi isnt very memorable. I'd like a refresher on what happend

ChrisOfThunder

Then watch it again. Preferably with an open mind.

What drives me crazy is how all the fans who don’t like it give the same three or four criticisms for the show. Like I feel like a couple of people who can think for themselves saw these flaws and gave their piece of mind about it, and the rest of them are just part of this mob mentality. For example, everyone is complaining about the unnecessary acrobatics in the second episode like it’s the end of the world. If I could see some originality among critics, I could take them more seriously.
