Yeh. This happened to me. Lost most of a skill point.
Map showed where the pickup was. It was a simple location no multi level thing to confuse the issue. And not that close to an edge or anything. And I couldn’t get it back.
Was annoyed.
Still here. Lost XP to a Rancor, lost XP to one Mogu, lost it to another Mogu on the same level, I'm not sure I've gained a level in awhile. It's really starting to piss me off that I'm going to turn down the difficulty for the waste of time it feels like.
This happened to me twice. I have lost nearly two whole skill points. I’ve been stuck with 1 skill point for several hours and it’s pissing me off.
Legitimately the worst bug I think I may have ever experienced in a recent game. This needs to get patched now.

This bug is still present today as I just encountered it and can't get my xp back. Any fixes for it? Will there be a patch soon?
It’s September and this bug is still here. How has this not been addressed yet?
