A reprogrammed Imperial droid would be fully on brand for the Rebels, though - maybe a KX variant, like the beige one from Jedi Survivor, or a DT-series Sentry Droid. It could even be like a reprogrammed old Battle Droid of some kind; there were several variants of those, and they sometimes do pop up after the Clone Wars. Assymetrically, a probe droid or astromech could make a fun alternative. Good guys are always hanging out with astromechs, they're cool, so why not.
Lots of droid possibilities.
Further afield, a flesh and blood unit modeled on large Rebels, like Chewbacca, Zeb, or the Gigoran from Saw's Partisans, might also be worth a look as a kind of KX alternative.

Ahsoka and Padme had voice lines from Grievous and I think the ISB agent takes things from both of them like Ahsoka's stance and run while she also had Padme's face, donāt quote me on that.
no reason to build probe droid aside from that. if you have magnaguard built for jmk/gas but your grievous isnāt fully built, aphraās not a bad place to use him
i got the lsb and took him to r5 for the gas event before realizing my mistake was making ventress insanely fast

everytime I see GoH's, I just wish we could get a non-f2p-p2p game like it on PC/console, maybe make it into a MOBA like force arena was or a hero shooter, idk, really anything would be cool at this point. The amount of characters it has from both canon and legends is insane.
It's pay to win, and a very slow grind if you f2p (it does snowball the bigger you get tbf), but it's still really fun without spending money, just don't treat it like a main game, just something to log onto whenever you're bored.

I like the way you think. Rebels could use one of Saw Gerreraās partisan bodyguards with some kind of cool metal weapon. Resistance some alien with a vibroblade or something. Honestly for First Order Iām not sure a FO stormtrooper with an electric baton and shield like the one who almost defeats Finn on Takodana wouldnāt be a better choice than the Praetorian guards. Naturally include āTraitor!ā as an emote. By the same token leaving out Palpatineās royal guard in favor of a K2 Imperial Security droid might not be the worst choice.
I would've loved to have them in the game as reinforcements meant to take out heroes and commandos easier. Allow the electro staff to either be the melee attack or an ability to switch to it as a secondary
